I was on a work trip staying at the Embassy Suites down the street and was in need of a gel manicure. I yelped the closest place with no wait time and made my way over on a weekday after work. The parking lot was tiny and the inside of the salon was very run down. I picked my color and sat down at the first station. I don't know if gel is not something this place normally does, but they literally had no idea how to take it off. They barely soaked my hands before scrapping off the old polish (violently) and hitting my cuticles multiple times. It took over 20 minutes to remove and they broke two nails in the process. I had chosen a bright red color (soho) that ended up being orange(?) once applied. The service was ok, but my overall experience was horrible. I definitely won't be back! read more

Just moved to the area and had tried a few other places but after looking at the reviews decided to try this place out. I am very happy with the salon and service. They get four stars because they were fast and accommodating. If they got new or newer (used) remotes, massage chairs & maybe more nail polish colors, exfoliating gels, creams etc, would bump up to five, and yes it's very dated & shabby, but clean and that's all that counts. Cheapest one in town, but now you should understand why. I went when they opened Saturday morning and was amazed I was the only one - doesn't matter the situation, almost all women flock to get their beauty maintenance on, I guess just not there (?). Shame, they were simple & just what I needed: a basic pedicure. But one lady did show up after I was leaving, so good to know they do get business:) Anyhow, the man whose also probably owner took care of my tootsies (yeah are more like worn out old dogs) as I just don't do this sort of stuff as I should mainly because I'm an impatient, awkward & uncomfortable being. And yah cheap is in there. But not a total cheapo. He took care of me fine and what was expected, nothing more or less. Polite and very fast - works for me. Price was cheaper being that its El Segundo, was so glad I didn't have to go out of the area to find a reasonable salon. And there is cheaper by few bucks, but why waste gas? It'll be the same. And I've been to both sides of the hood - ritzy area & average or shady side of towns where I always felt uncomfortable. Here, I felt Ok. After all, you get in & out, it's cheap, you got your cell or mags to read, stare out the window and you can watch the planes go or come, and I guess people watching, as the variety of folk go in & out of donut shop - I'm no longer homesick from EastLA, I see mi gente sitting w/their familia breaking donuts & hanging out siting on crates as makeshift picnic areas- they got have something to sit on while plane spotting. As for the waxing, now that I'm picky about everywhere, I'd only go to a salon that I feel comfortable knowing it's got High standards on hygiene, already had bad experience in past. Soooooo, to my point (finally!!!) this is your basic or bare minimum nail salon. Don't go here if your use to plush girly nail bar joints or have high expectations/criteria; and if you satisfied with getting it done quickly w/no qualms about it or anything, this place should suffice. read more

My usual nail gal was out and I needed a quick Pedi. Close to home, and could take me immediately? Great! Unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. I basically got a polish change with a massage. No real trimming of the cuticles or removal of dead skin. The massage chair remote had a cracked screen and the function only seemed to work intermittently. I really like this place after trying many others in town. It's on my street so super close and they are t ever too crowded. They've got plenty of staff and lost of magazines, massage chairs, a large flat screen tv and an extensive menu of nail & wax treatments. Basically all you need. Moderately priced for the area but located in a 'back-alley'-feeling mini shopping strip on the edge of El Segundo. I have been to this nail salon two times; both occasions when I needed to kill some time after work before I headed off on my commute home. The salon is VERY basic inside--far from a spa feeling that's for sure. Nothing soothing about the environment whatsoever. Thankfully they do have a big flat screen TV in there to distract you from the plainness of the salon. I have always arrived close to closing time but they would take me anyways. Pretty much empty both times (one other client present during my visits). The first time I got a spa mani-pedi, the second time I got a regular (gel mani both times). The ladies are not particularly friendly and are kind of fake-smiley when you smile at them but they do a good, fast, clean job that lasts. My gel mani is bearly starting to peel on the edges and it has been nearly three weeks since my visit. I would come back simply for the fact that the $ investment in a nail job seems to go a long way here. One thing I really do like is unlike my local nail salon they allow you to tip on your credit card. I would definitely consider coming back. read more

This place is in a small plaza. Not a big parking lot in front so if they are busy I can see there being a struggle. Interior is very simple. They don't have a big selection of colors so bringing your own isn't a bad idea. I got a pedicure. The gentleman did a good and quick job. Their prices are more than reasonable. My morning got busy on a Sunday (Mother's Day!) and by the time I was able to do my errands, it was late afternoon. Determined to get my nails done, I called a few shops and all of them sounded very busy. Super sad, I decided to give up getting my nails done and drove down the street to drop off dry cleaning. Sadly, my dry cleaning spot was closed but I saw that Princess was still open and only had one person getting their nails done. I asked if they were still taking people (it was 4pm on a Sunday). The lady gladly obliged, no wait time and within 30-40 minutes, I was out and had a lovely gel mani ($25)! Cons - The color selection was low. I usually go with grays, beiges and pale colors and they only had a few of that variety. Majority of colors were red and pink. Pros - Service was friendly and very quick, but thorough. Other salons I'm usually in for an hour with a gel mani. I'm not sure if this will be my regular spot, but I'll definitely be back when I'm running short on time! read more

I would recommend this place if you want to get a basic manicure for your kid. it's a little hole in the wall and has been open for many years but yet the service is ok, there is slim to no decor and the equipment seems old. I got acrylic manicure and it came out a tad bubbly looking and too thick and her steps are way out of order compared to every single nail salon I have been to... I would not go back. read more

I absolutely love going here... I was walking home one day and I saw that they opened up so I automatically went in a couple weeks later to get my nails and eyebrows done. Wendy is simply amazing there has been times were I didn't like my gel nail color and come back the next day and she changed it for free and that's what I call customer service. I used to always come to this place because if you want to get your nails done in town this is the place to go! That being said once I started driving, I realized a 10 min drive out I could get better service for a better price. Mani pedis are done fast here so if your in a hurry this is the place for you, they do a good job in under 30 but it's also not a relaxing under 30 so do keep that in mind. So there goes one star for me. Now the reason why I took more away is they have terrible customer service! I would have rated them even lower, but luckily for them I have been coming for years and they are usually nice. The last THREE times I went they were so rude! The final strike for me that made me no longer a fan is when I went for my birthday to get eyelash extensions and I called beforehand to get the price they said 5$! So I was super happy and my girlfriends and I all went then as we were paying they said 15! When I told them I called previously and they said 5$ they started yelling at me saying they would NEVER say that and blah blah blah and they didn't even do a good job and it was painful! I was so upset and shocked that they would treat a customer that way when THEY made a mistake by telling me the wrong price. Yes It's in a crummy location, and the interior leaves a lot to be desired, but I chanced it anyway and went in for eyebrow waxing. Wendy hooked me up! I knew I would find a gem in this dark hole, I just knew it! I'm so particular about my eyebrows, but she followed my directions to a tee. Will definitely be back for waxing. As for mani/pedi, not likely. The interior looks desolate and depraved. I prefer a more upbeat and decorated environment with all of the amenities and top of the line equipment, so I'll pass. This is the place I go for waxing when I don't have time to drive to BH to see Anastasia. Mostly because they never screws up the shape. Contrary to previous posts, I think the bumps are from a cleansing gel reaction. I just ask Wendy to omit this step and I never have a reaction from the wax. This review is just for their waxing service--I went in and got my eyebrows done. Had been in there for a manicure before, so knew of the place (nothing special but convenient). Anyway, I just get my eyebrows done. While there, I felt like she did a good job, didn't hurt too badly and just the right amount of tweezing without skin pulling which was great. The problem came later. That night I had red welts above my eyebrows the size of mini mosquito bites. I'm used to having a tiny bit of a break out after getting waxed, but this was crazy. It took 4-5 days for all the redness and bumps to go away, which is just not cool. After researching a bit on the internet, the consensus seems to be that bumps/zits after waxing are mainly caused by bacteria in the wax (ie. from double dipping etc.) or not washing your face right after (which I did). So since my reaction was so severe, I think the wax must not get cleaned very often. Super disappointing, especially since the woman doing everything was nice. However, I was not pleased at all by the red welts, so will not be coming back. read more

So extremely unhappy with my experience here from the very beginning when I walked in. I asked for someone to show me their gel colors and they pointed over in a general direction, I said I'm sorry, I don't see them can you show me, wendy started huffing and puffing getting up to show me. When asked what i wanted I said medium length coffin tip nails, the lady proceeded to shape my nails, I asked her to make them a little more pointed, apparently this insulted her because she got up and walked away and said he can do your nails instead. So a guy comes over who tries shaping my nails and completely ruins them! I end up with one side of each nail straight and the other with an angle. Each nail is completely different, some are fat some are skinny. He then continues trying to shape them after I said never mind with the shape cuz it's just getting worse and cuts my finger. This is when I should have just gotten up and walked out but I was hoping once they were painted they might not look bad. Well boy was I wrong. The gel is all blotchy and bumping. He got gel all over my fingers outside of the nail and never offered to take it off. Now an hour later I'm stuck with a terrible manicure, And a nail tip that's about to snap off any second. I have never been so unhappy with customer service at a nail salon of received a worse manicure. Do NOT go here!!! read more

Great place!! Little hoIe in the wall but they are great. I used to work right down the street and a co-worker friend of mine recommended this place. The owner and main nail tech is Wendy. She is great! Shy but she does a wonderful job! Very thorough. And it's really cheap for all you get. Also, there is a guy that works there too (his name escapes me- I believe he is her brother) gives the best pedicures, and ridiculously long massages! I always tip him a lot because I feel guilty if I don't. I wish there was a place this good in the Westside. read more

The salon is dingy and dirty, the customer service is terrible, there are barely any colors to choose from, prices are expensive, and for all that, my nails look terrible. There are WAY better places nearby that have much nicer employees who do a great job, tons of colors, and are significantly cheaper. I decided to get a mani/pedi on the same day as the high school prom, so I figured my regular nail salon would be packed. I headed to this less crowded salon in town. Yep - less crowded. Only one person getting her nails done. The color selection is poor. I wanted a purple and the only one that looked half decent was in a bottle I couldn't open (dried closed). There is a man here who does nails, which I don't prefer at all, but I think he's the owner. He opened the bottle in the back and he did my nails while a woman did my toes. The "massage" chair didn't work, and I noticed the dude's fingernails were dirty (yuck!). The woman who did my pedi was fine, but I don't know why the guy even bothered doing the hand massage since he put very little lotion on my hands and just rubbed my hands (no wrists or forearms) the same way back and forth until it was uncomfortable. After the other customer left, not one other person came through the doors while I was sitting there getting my nails done or while I was waiting for them to dry. The end result was fine, but the price was just $1 cheaper than the much nicer, cleaner, busier nail salon across town. For the ambience (dreary, plain, unfriendly), this place should be at least $5 cheaper and they might get more customers. I won't be back. read more
