Cat eye Gel x beautifully done !!! I came in as a walk in, and they took me as soon as they were available. I was coming in initially for a basic, boring grey polish when Kim suggested a grey cat eye ‍ I tend to stay with regular acrylic black nails with an almond shape and this is a fantastic alternative they suggested from my boring simple colored nails I tend to get. My nails were looking ROUGGHHHHH. Embarrassingly rough. But these ladies made my nails pretty again they are very sweet and good at what they do. Covid 19 alert... Tina's Nails is open for business. On this day Tina was out front doing nails and she had 2 girls on the back patio doing mani/pedis. It was nice to take care of my eagle claws and just slow down and pretend it was 2019. They are very safe, friendly and actually talk to you. I enjoyed my father daughter date and will definitely be back again. My daughtet says they hold up well... she does the gel. I just have them clean up those toes beat up from training. Always a wonderful experience here. If they can, I request mani & pedi at same time so I'm done in an hour! Love all of the technicians here. Tina creates a welcoming environment. Super professional and friendly! I love getting a gel mani and regular pedicure with callus remover always. I tried every place in the area - hands down Tina's is the place to go. She does quality excellent work. My gel stays put for WEEKS. Like, I could go 4 weeks if my nails didn't grow out. I've never had the gel stay on my nails so well. And the team is friendly & welcoming, it is bright and airy inside, and just a great community nail salon. I saw a comment on wait time, but I have never had to wait unexpectedly. Tina has always been upfront on wait time if I show up without an appointment, and she is prompt in starting her appointments. I have "waited" while my nails soaked, but I appreciate this. She lets them sit long enough that she can easily and gently remove the gel without over damaging my nail in the process. And, when asked if she could do a custom design for my wedding day, she did an excellent job! She's meticulous and detailed in her work. Very glad I found this place. read more

This is my second time here , manicures/acrylic Tina has done a good job! But today was my first time getting a Pedicure done here , it was ok. $35My toe nails are not filed straight , especially my big toe. However , The lady that did my pedicure was very nice. Walking in I was never greeted by Tina but by one of her employees. When it was time to pay I asked Tina If I could Venmo , it seemed as if she got bothered, n just gave me a "mm" answer . She then said to Zelle better ,I asked for her number & she pointed at her business card. Not once did she look at me , not once did she say thank you after I sent her the payment or when I told her thank you and was walking out. Another customer before me asked for her number to Zelle and she did give it to him while smiling too. It seems if you are not a regular here or you don't have cash, you are not welcome here. This was my second time back after 7 years , looks like her clientele has increased and she doesn't care about "new" customers . Not coming back! You prefer cash then put up a sign that says 'cash only'. read more

First time trying this place in town. The mani/pedi was just okay not great. They didn't use the top coat properly/evenly so it looks bad and started cracking right away. The other thing that was a turn off is the constant upselling on EVERYTHING. As a new/first time client i would have liked to know that upfront. From walking in for a regular mani/pedi i was asked if i wanted to do no chip/gel. Then the color i picked was "longer lasting" so that was more. And to use a credit card you have to pay a fee. So all that is fine but please educate me before hand. read more

Tina is the absolute best!! While visiting my friend from out of town, we wanted to get our nails done and with most places booked or charging prices up the wazoo, my friend recommended her go-to hometown nail salon: Tina's Nails and Spa. This place is an absolute gem - the little shop in the beach town area of El Segundo is clean and full of character. We called ahead and Tina was able to fit all 3 of us in - same day - with no hesitation (though she may have done so because my friend is a regular.) Either way, Tina got us in and out so quickly and able to get what we asked for without any hesitation. After selecting our colors, she probably did all 3 of our nails within 2.5 hours. This includes removing gel polish off of one person, and doing a full routine for each of us which includes shaping, prepping, applying 2 coats of color, curing polish and applying lotion to our hands afterwards. I called on a Saturday afternoon at 4:40 and was told to come in at 5:30 p.m. how is that for service? I live in Playa del Rey so Tina's shop is just a few minutes away off Main Street in El Segundo. They have plenty of parking out front. There is also a parking garage across the street at the 99-Cent Store. Tina's nail Salon is cute and cozy. They have a great selection of gel nail polish and matching nail polish for toes. It's a clean place with a large flat screen tv and jewelry. There was lots to keep me entertained while I was getting my gel manicure. I will definitely be back for my pedicure as well as my gel mani. It took about 1 hr total for the mani. This was such a nice experience. Can't wait for my next visit. read more

When you Yelp you hope that the surveys are true, unfortunately in this case it was not. I called ahead of time to ask if they do Gel-X and they said yes. I got there early as I wanted pedicure as well. When she wanted to do my nails I noticed she is opening a brand new box for Gel-X but i NEVER would've imagined that this is her first time doing this. She didn't know if the liquid comes out it'll be impossible to remove it. Left me with 4 bleeding nails. My nails were not straight and 2 of the scratches are infected now. So sad to say that it was my first and for sure last time there. They are nice people but that's about it. If you don't provide a service please be honest and don't lie about it. read more

I was a regular here, and my last visit was the reason I wrote this place off entirely. I have even waited a long time to write this, as the fresh review when this happened wouldn't have been "safe for work" if you catch my drift. I would call several days in advance to make appointments. SET appointments in advance. However, almost every time I would show up, I would be left waiting. We are talking 40 minutes without acknowledgement or explanation (after being a regular). Ouch! The last straw was when I finally asked what was going on and was kinda given attitude about it! Honestly, I was giving this place a chance. They really had my friend & I sitting in the sun due to new COVID regulations. They they assigned me a pedicurist who was completely unprofessional or qualified. I wish I could take a photo of how she punctured my toe. I now have internal bleeding. She was more concerned with taking photos for IG instead of insuring she was acting with quality to perform a great job. The tip that was given was undeserved. & now I have to wait until this grows out. Thanks for nothing. read more

Don't make an appointment because you may have to wait 2 to 3 hours in with your feet soaking in water for that amount of time before she can get to you. This is the second time she's done this to me Tina. Then she cut me on my finger and didn't even apologize I asked her to make coffin shaped fingernails I got square whatever she wants to do to your nails is what happens. Not happy used to like this lady used to love the salon not the same salon looking for a new one read more

If I could rate a 0, I would. Horrible experience. Asked for RED and got PINK. I told the lady multiple times while she STARTED the process that she had the wrong color. Really? You're so lazy and stubborn that you just kept doing my nails, looking at my face while you shamelessly painted them pink? Absolutely ridiculous. I had to pay $35 to look like a 10 year old playing Barbie. Never coming back, ugh super dissapointed. Not to mention, my nails were never soaked to clean my cuticles properly, the tools didn't look sterilized, and for some reason they used a UV light for powder? Tina, your steady stream of regulars might laugh at something like this, but I DESERVE better. I deserve to pay for nails the color I wanted. Isn't that the point of a nail salon? read more

I LOVE Tina's Nail & Spa! Tina, the owner, is wonderful and all of the technicians are great - friendly and do excellent work. I always feel like I am a welcome friend when I come in. I usually get acrylic fills but I have also gotten fantastic dip powder nails. My daughter and mother also both come in for manicures and pedicures. The spa is small, clean, quaint with easy parking. I love this place. Best gel manicure around. Tina does a great job with the gel and is so friendly to all her customers. Ni is hilarious. She is always laughing and gives her honest opinion. I was pretty disappointed in my visit to Tina's Nails. I typically am never in the El Segundo area but I knew that I was going to be there the day before for my friend's wedding and I wanted to treat my friend (the bride) to a mani pedi so I found Tina's Nails on Yelp. I called a few days prior and spoke to Tina to make an appointment over the phone for three people. I asked her how much a mani pedi combo was and she told me it was $33. I asked her how much it was for a gel and a spa pedi, and she told me that was $35. I thought that was incredibly low for what I'm normally used to, so I repeated myself to confirm that she was telling me that a gel mani and pedi combo is $35, and she quickly agreed. It didn't turn out to be this much.. read further for an explanation. We showed up five minutes early for our appointment and quickly noticed that there were only three ladies working there, and three other customers already getting their manis/pedis.. It didn't look like they were anywhere near done, so after waiting about 15 minutes, I asked if they'd be able to take us because we were on a time crunch. Tina quickly responded yes and so we waited about another 15 minutes for her to get started on one of us. This was disappointing that I had made an appointment and if she wouldn't have been able to take us on time, she could've told us beforehand so we could've gone to another place. Another thing I noticed was that this spa is very small and cramped inside, and their spa chairs don't even have a tub connected to them. I've never seen this before... A lot of their furniture and decor is very outdated, but I still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They finally started on my manicure about 30-45 minutes after our arrival, and I asked if the lady was able to do deep french for my nails. She seemed hesitant to which I also felt hesitant and about to change my mind, but Tina quickly answered for her and told her it was easy. Truth: it was not easy for her. I had to keep asking her to fix the lines and my nails before putting my hand into the UV light. At one point I said that I could do just a regular traditional manicure (instead of the deep french design) which Tina quickly answered again for the lady who was working on my nails saying that she could do it.. She didn't do a good job... I would check my nails for a few seconds before putting them into the UV light machine and the lady would impatiently tell me "inside" and motion for me to put my hand inside. I'm sorry but I think this is a pretty rude thing and she could say "please" instead of pushing me to put my hand inside when I'm just trying to check it before the light. Also, she didn't even mention that I would be charged $5 extra for the deep french design service, and I don't think this is good practice for a business to not give their customers a head's up before charging additional fees. I know that this service typically does cost extra but I believe it's absolutely necessary for the nail salon to inform the customer that this would be the case. Even the massage at the end of the manicure was sorry to say the least. She probably spent about a minute massaging each hand and it was done before I could even relax. My manicure ended up costing me $40. When we were ready to pay, it ended up turning out that the the gel mani and pedi combo that I was treating my bride friend to was $60, and when I told her that she had originally told me that it was $35, she began to argue with me. I didn't want to argue back too much because we clearly misunderstood each other even though I tried to confirm it, and there really was no point in arguing. I paid, even tipped a generous 20%, and left. I will never be returning to this nail salon again. read more

I paid $87 plus 20% tip for caked on toenail polish that is still not dry this morning. I will have to redo them myself today. My nails are fine but this is not a relaxing experience. The location is convenient but I will not be back to this store or franchise. I'm sure rent is challenging to cover in this area but a revamped staff training is needed. Feeling ripped off to be honest and I will not be back.

I asked for a regular pedicure but they pressured me to do gel on my toes too. I know gel is an extra cost but I never would have thought it would cost me an extra $30 on top of my pedicure. I essentially paid another $75 for a simple pedicure with gel. I was caught off guard when I was at the front ready to pay. Unfortunately - I will not be coming back, not because the work isn't good but because the pressure to get gel as well as the lack of transparency turned me off.

My spa day with SUE was amazing. She is a professional at what she does. Her attention to detail was like no other. I will be returning!

She then rushed through my mani, using a very high speed with the electric filer/ sander, so much so that when I took the gel off today I now have "rings of fire" (see attached pictures). For the future I hope any technician that does manis here will take their time, and be extra careful when using the electric filer/ sander on other clients.

I got a gel x extension set and paid $77 for removal of my previous extensions, a new set, and cuticle removal which was extra. It was the method of essentially ripping/peeling off my old set when i feel like im used to soaking in acetone and filing off. Colors: since it was my first time, I didn't have a chance to look at every single color option but i do recall they did offer some cat eye and chrome options for more. The upside for me too was that they offered colors with gold flakes (pictured) and there was no up charge.
