Every couple/few weeks I go to Princess. I can't say I feel like a Princess but I like the place. I've never had any problems with their work. The staff is reserved yet nice enough. Language might be a barrier. The shop is clean. They make me feel very comfortable. Love the arm and leg massage! The foot baths have disposable liners that are changed for every person. Literally the worst nail salon I've ever been to. They don't listen to anything you say. I wanted gel and asked 3 times for gel, they gave me dip powder. I didn't want dip because I wanted a light purple.... ended up with pink. I told her my nails were slanted, she said she couldn't see what I was saying. In order to fix it, they cut my nails down to stubs..... and they're still slanted. My nails are so uneven with divots all over them. She didn't put the top coat on correctly. I told her I didn't like it... literally said nothing in response. Just let me pay and sent me on my way. I've never had a worse set of nails or even SEEN a worse set of nails in my life. And they couldn't care less as long as they get paid. I suggest you use any other place nearby. read more

Visiting from out of state and needed a gel mani, pedi and eyebrow wax. Chose this place because of the great reviews, but wasn't terribly impressed. My nails look ok, but the technicians aren't friendly at all and the woman who did my manicure could barely get away with calling what she did a "manicure." The space is clean and the decor beautiful, but the music was too loud and why am I sitting in a pedicure chair for 10 mins after my polish waiting for a different technician to come? They didn't even say thank you when I tipped them, nor did they say goodbye when I left. And it's not like this place is cheap! read more

The place is very clean and there are tons of people working so you rarely have to wait. Bummed that I only got one coat of polish because they told me my nails were "short". Lasted less than 1 week. Probably will try another salon next time. read more

Had a manicure and gel polish done by Ken. He was wonderful. Not too talkative (which I like) but very very nice. Nails look wonderful. They have a new kind that that does not require a bond or base so cuts down the time to less than 45 minutes. Will make this my new place to have nails done. Also have lots of chairs and technicians so no wait!! read more

I took my wife here for a pedicure last week. The facility looks very clean and inviting and relaxing. She was very pleased with the service. First time coming here after a friend recommended it and it was great! On Tuesdays and Wednesdays they do 15% off. The staff is extremely nice and friendly. Also they serve wine!! Who doesn't love wine while getting pampered. They were very busy but it is holiday season. I'll be back! read more

Visiting from out of state staying nearby. My aunt, daughter, and I got right in on a Monday afternoon. I can't recall my nail tech's name - younger fellow. Very friendly and professional. My gel manicure stayed on for almost four weeks - impressive! I will definitely be back my next trip to Mount Pleasant. read more

My favorite nail salon in Charleston! Every time I go here not only is the staff friendly, they can give you a gel manicure that lasts a solid 3 weeks. I've been here numerous times and only once did I have a nail chip after I left. I came back the next day, and with no questions asked they were happy to fix my nail at no charge. I can't enough good things about this place or my technician, Dana. I'm in town for a very extended business trip and was in desperate need of a nail salon near my hotel. After a little searching I found this place right down the street and I literally couldn't be happier. I only waited a few short moments before being led to a station where I received a gel manicure from Dana & in addition to the amazing job she did she made me feel like we were old friends. After my manicure was complete she then immediately led me to my pedicure chair where I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she would also be giving me my pedicure. I will be in Mt. Pleasant for only another 3 weeks but fully intend on coming back to see her before I head back home. She was GREAT!!!! read more

Very nice salon itself, but customer service was not the best (to me at least)... I got my acrylics off here the other day and I felt like they kept trying to upsell me with other things, after I explained I am trying to let my nails be healthy for awhile w nothing on them. They did soak instead of file them off. As soon as I got home I realized they didn't get all of the acrylic off, and I spent the rest of the day picking off bits of acrylic. None of my nails were filed to the same length or shape. There were obvious regulars who came in, and offered water, soda, or wine. I was not offered anything or even spoke to. The guy soaking my nails actually got up and left me sitting there to go take care of a regular, without saying anything to me, brushed me off to a lady who was obviously on her lunch. So it's a nice place if you are a regular but not if you are just stopping in. Which, I won't be back again. I was looking for a home salon and this was not it read more

I am so disappointed by my experience here today. I came in and the staff was attentive at first, asked me what I needed done etc and took me back to one of their pedicure chairs. They did not tell me about a wait time so I assumed it wasn't long and I'm always happy to wait 15-20 minutes. After a while of just sitting there, the salon Manager said it wouldn't be too much longer and then several minutes later filled the tub with lukewarm water. I continued to wait until the water was chilly (40 minutes total waiting) and finally decided I had to go because I needed to pick my kids up from daycare. The lady across from me said she was waiting 1 hour. The salon manager said she told me it would be 20 minutes (which didn't matter because it was now twice that amount). I said you may have told someone else that but it wasn't me. She said okay, well I messed up. She never offered a discount, to schedule me another time without a wait or anything. She just let me leave without a sincere apology or any empathy for what just happened. I wasted an hour of free time that I rarely get and don't ever plan on returning here. Such a hit or miss place. I've left super happy before- but as of late every time I leave I am incredibly disappointed. This last time is the last time. I had the audacity to ask to sit next to my friend while we got SNS nails together. I was told "no". Then finally he did let me and did the WORST job on my nails I've ever seen. He made me BLEED multiple times and left so much excess nail polish all around my fingers that the technician who did my friends nails felt so bad she offered to fix them when she saw them- took 20 MORE minutes! and he just walked away and started with another client. Didn't care at all. Her excuse for him: "he's usually good he's just used to his seat". Not a good enough excuse to do a half-ass job and then walk away. 1 week out and they already look like garbage. Heart broken I won't be going back to my once favorite place.... read more

Horrible!! I got a pedicure and gel manicure and it was the worst. I'm from out of town visiting and stopped here. My big toe was clearly unevenly filed, and my nails were filed down into basically nubs, even though I wasn't even asked if I wanted them cut down. And then the nail tech had the audacity to complain about how small my now nubby nails were... I was very much unimpressed and have no intentions of returning or recommending this salon. My sister and I were looking for a good pedi with a nice leg massage. Paid the extra for the massage and got nothing more than slap on some scrub, cream and move on. Never even moved to the other foot on my sister... Too busy watching tv. My guy didn't put anything between my toes, so polish smudged. I asked to fix, barely dabbed new polish on. Very poor service and treatment. While I was there I noticed if you asked for a higher price service you got soda or wine....no one even offered water. Then a young gal come in with a gift cert. She said she could only so what the gift was for. The same guy who did my toes kept trying to upsell. When she didn't accept, he ignored her and did the same poor job as he did on me. While I was drying, she asked for a drink since she saw others, it took her 4 times to get him to even get a water. I've been all over the country and this was not worth more than a $15 nail paint. read more

I would definitely not recommend this nail salon. The woman who did my mani/pedi was very rough. My pedicure literally hurt. She cut my toe, causing it to bleed. A mistake? Maybe...but she did the same thing on one of my fingers when she did the manicure. When I left, my manicure did look nice, but upon closer inspection of my pedicure there were a lot of red marks where she nicked up my toes. I would never return to this place. read more

Beautiful facility, but not great service. My friend got a gel mani and it was totally uneven, and not painted fully. However, her lady we nice. My lady couldn't have been more rude. She didn't even apply lotion to the hands, and I had to ask her several times to get all the nails a uniform length. Maybe she was having a terrible day because others seemed kinder. But there were no hot towels used on the pedi and I felt rushed and unappreciated. It was almost as if we were an inconvenience to be there, which is a fabulous feeling when you pay over $100.00 for a treat! Won't go back. I've been coming here for years, the service is always great. They do juggle when to many walkins walk in but they always manage well. I've tried many nail salons in this city, but their paint jobs last the longest and look the best. I don't like sitting, and they are very fast, get in get out with a perfect paint job! Went into Princess Nails for a full set of acrylic and Thomas gave me the most beautiful manicure I've ever had. They had more colors to choose from than any other salon and every employee there was very friendly. I was so impressed that Thomas knew most of the customers that came in by name. I made a 1pm appointment to have mine and my moms nails done before my sons wedding rehearsal. We got there at 1pm and I told the guy doing a manicure that we had a 1pm appointment. I asked if we still needed to sign in. He said yes so I signed us in. After 10-15 minutes he told us to go to the last two pedi chairs on the left which we did. We waited a full hour and then got up to leave. A lady asked if we were leaving and I said that we were that I'd made an appointment for 1 o'clock and that we didn't have time to get our nails done now. She said they were ready to start on our toes now. I said that there was no way they could do our toes and fingernails in 30 minutes. She said it would take an hour. I said we didn't have another hour that's why I had made an appointment. She said she was sorry but sorry didn't help me. They wasted mine and my moms time plus we were aggravated when we left. Evidently they have more business than they want or they'd run their business differently. If you need an appointment go somewhere else. read more

I was staying at the Residence Inn in Mt. Pleasant and found this nail shop within walking distance to yhe hotel. Kristi gave me a pedicure and did a wonderful job on my feet. She was very friendly and gave me a wonderful foot massage. I will definitely be coming back when I am in town again. read more
