I was looking into purchasing a vehicle from BMW Princeton and had initially spoken with one of the managers, Benjamin Webb. He informed me that the vehicle I was interested in had just arrived and wasn't ready yet, but he asked me to come in on Monday when it should be available. I followed up on Monday as instructed, only to be told the vehicle still wasn't ready. I waited until Tuesday and, once again, had to call them myself despite being told I would be contacted. Eventually, I got in touch with a sales representative named Gregory. Unfortunately, there was a serious lack of communication throughout this process. By the time I was told the vehicle would be ready--Tuesday--it had already been sold to someone else. I was promised that the vehicle would be held and ready for me at BMW Princeton by Monday, but that never happened. The entire experience left me feeling like I wasn't valued as a customer and that the priority was solely on making a sale, not on honoring their word. I had a very bad experience with this Princeton BMW. I was asked to replace 4 tires, and I trusted brand BMW that they claimed replaced 4 new tires, and in 4500 miles now all tires are gone. NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR OVERNIGHT HERE. AFTER I'm leaving my car for new tires, I have all my problems with car started. The brand BMW or luxury means spinning money for no reason and consume the lousy suggestions "you can go and fix anywhere" after paying also. Data analytics is the future, my guess BMW dealer processes to make revenues rotten eventually eradicate the brand value. I don't know what kind of shitty car will have engine leaks with in 9 years. Are they making inferior engines or not capable enough? Or planted glitches to make revenue. Or definition of Luxury car means keep paying like a holy cow what ever they ask without questioning . What ever, my goal here is to educate/warn consumers and let the brand BMW higher-up people to understand the eroding trust factor for small revenues and the price is more than anticipated. Was having an issue with leaking coolant from my vehicle. I dropped my vehicle off the night before with service scheduled for 8:30 the following day. 2 hours later (1030ish) I receive a video from the maintenance tech explaining my issue and the way ahead followed by a phone call a few minutes later. After researching five BMW dealerships across the tri-state area on the hunt for my new car, I stumbled upon Princeton BMW. I visited their website, searched new inventory and they had one vehicle that fit my requirements. The process to check availability is pretty standard across all BMW dealers, likely as they use a 3rd party system. What set these gusy apart was one Michael, working from home his dog barking in the background, giving me assurances that the vehicle is available and to schedule an appointment. I explained that I was two hours away and that a) had questions about the car and b) wanted to tackle the financials get to a mutually agreeable state then do the pickup. He immediately assured me the team will be on it and will align on the process to make it work. Then Anthony gives me a call, we walk through the car options, particulars and my situation. We agreed to give it process a shot and to see if they can get to my target. I submit my credit app (online super easy - the other dealerships were old school, had me print a PDF, fill out the app and then scan it back it to them). I think as per the process, Chris then gets my info and as I was trading in a vehicle Brandon stepped in to fast track this leg of the process. Everyone involved was super professional, they were fair and reasonable, Brandon gets huge kudos as I know how difficult it is to appraise a vehicle and share some tough news. Chris and the finance manager stuck around well after closing to get everything right. I highly recommend Princeton BMW, I bought a 2021 X3 M40I there. It started out with Stacey on the internet and no less on a Sunday. Stacey and I wrote back and forth through Tuesday to see what the status of the vehicle was, I wanted pre owned certified which makes a difference. I wasn't hooked yet because I was talking to two other dealerships which had similar vehicles. What put me over the edge was when I got a call from Benjamin the Sales Manager, when I heard the message, I knew he cares about customers and his vehicles. They close a 7:00, I live an hour away, I got there at 6:30, I met this young Steven, then Benjamin and Stacey. Steven took me out for a test drive, explained what different things are in the SUV, explained what run flats are. I told them I will take it, Steven, Benjamin and others stayed there until the deal was completed, I took it home with me and have enjoyed it. You always look for a follow up from a dealership, both Steven and Benjamin thanked me for the business and also followed up to make sure I was happy with the vehicle. MORAL OF THE STORY: NEVER ever trust the Princeton BMW Service department for repairs!! ALWAYS ask an outside mechanic to look at the job that Princeton BMW says you "need" MY EXPERIENCE: On 9/20/2022 @ approximately 2:15PM, I brought my 2011 BMW 328XI into Princeton BMW. The reason for the visit was that I had purchased a new remote for the car from the Princeton BMW parts department. The new remote, while programmed to run the car, had not yet been programmed to open the doors to the car. Upon bringing in my car, there was about a 25 minute wait(no big deal). All I needed was a quick programming of the remote and I would be out. When the service person finally got to me, she told me it would be $120 for programming the remote, in ADDITION to the $200 I had paid for the remote itself to the parts department. This was a surprise for me because I had programmed remotes myself in the past for other cars. However, the really infuriating part was that their service rep LIED to me. She told me that "it takes 1/2 an hour to program the remote and we have to plug it into a special machine to program it." I paused for a moment after she told me it would take 1/2 hour to program a factory direct remote from BMW. I took my phone to the back area. I found a youtube video that showed ALL IT TOOK WAS A 30 SECOND PUSH OF THE KEY INTO THE SLOT and the key will program itself to the car. THEY WANTED TO ASK $120 FOR 30 SECOND KEY PUSH!! I tried to get my keys back from the service rep. At this point she LIED to me again stating that my 2011 BMW was old and only the new cars had 30 second programming. My guess is she figured out that I had figured out it was a 30 second touch. I found out that the keys were in the car from the service attendant who had taken my keys. As I walked to my car to program it, she rushed out to stand next to me. She didn't help me program the car. She just stood there watching me put the car key in for 30 seconds and program the car. She had a fake smile on her face as I rolled down the windows. I am not mad that she tried to charge me $120 for a 30 second key push that would have programmed the key fob. I am mad that she LIED that it would take 1/2 and hour and there would be a programming machine that would do the programming. She then AGAIN LIED that the 2011 BMW doesn't have the 30 second programming touch for the keys. If you are running a business, I understand that there are expenses to cover and overhead. However, PRINCETON BMW Service department is scammers who are trying to steal money from customers. They are training their service reps to lie justifying the theft. Their service rep lied telling me that it takes 1/2 an hour and requires a special machine. I programmed the key MYSELF by pushing it for 30 seconds into the slot after watching a youtube video. I emailed Princeton BMW service manager after I left their facility. I then received a call from your service manager Christopher Williams. Christopher told me that the incident was "just a mistake" because I had the comfort access key and the service rep thought I had the non-comfort access key. Their service manager ALSO LIED to me. I have the non-comfort access key. Christopher Williams was trying to justify the misleading behavior of his service representative. I am very disappointed in Princeton BMW service department They will probably post below this "Contact Us If You Are Upset"....For what? So can they can lie to me again? I don't have time to waste. I am only taking time to write this as a public service announcement. If you are reading this, you have been warned. CONCLUSION: THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS RUN BY SCAMMERS! RUN!!! Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing about their customer service handled by Hector, Kristina and Anthony. I found a 2023 black X5 45e on their online inventory and chose "buy online" option. I put in all the requested information on the buy online section and completed my duty on time. It seems Princeton BMW participates with the Kelley's Blue Book offer. On their website, I entered my trade-in vehicle info and got the instant cash offer. I was offered $64,928. Please find the attached photo. However, Hector (sales associate) and Anthony (sales manager) offered $60-61k for my vehicle stating that they had a bad experience selling a used tesla. I told Kristina that I will purchase the vehicle in full and sell my car privately and signed the purchase agreement using docusign on Saturday. Also, many BMW dealers do not bother with Stargard system (I do not want anyone to mess with the harness) and even if they do install them, they do it for free as this is mainly for tracking leased vehicles when payments are overdue). I asked my local sales rep and he laughed at that they charge $995 for it because I am purchasing the car without financing it. On Monday, Kristina comes back and told me that the vehicle is no longer available. I summarize the situation as the following: 1. As X5 45e is in high demand, they must have wanted to get more money for the car by low balling my trade-in 2. They probably wanted more money by selling the car to someone who will finance so he can get the interest payment out of it. I was not a candidate for either above and was left in the dark even after signing the purchase agreement. This is very unethical customer service and must be addressed. read more

I used to love this place--I'd call, they'd recognise my number and say "Good morning Ms. X, how may I help you today?" Now: Can't you look me up by my number? No, get your VIN. Can you order me a replacement fob, since I'm in your system, you've done it before, I've spent tens of thousands of dollars (and dozens of hours) in your place, and will have my license, registration, and everything else to prove I am who I am, this is my car which I purchased from you, and I'm good for the $500 key fob? No--you need to come here, prepay, price who you are, then we order, then you take another hour round trip to pick it up the next day, plus probably sitting around for another hour because we can't be bothered to get things ready for pickup. Oh, and this inconvenience towards a known and loyal customer is for "my" safety, because apparently they had neglected to check the license & registration of some other car and somehow their incompetence is MY fault. It's now like dealing with a sleazy, used car dealership in Newark. After 6 years of being their customer, with an encyclopaedia of service work on this same car purchased from this exact deal, this is how I'm treated. Update: you head into their lot, go inside (with a sprained knee), ask to order a new key, and THEY chide you for going to the wrong entrance--"well, someone should have told you to go to the other side of the building when you called." Yes, that "someone" should have been one of you, but hey, customer service is NOT a priority, as they are doing you a favour by treating you, the customer, like garbage. We bought our 2024 x5 50 E vehicle in December 2023 and we are highly disappointed with the service in this dealership. Before we buy this vehicle we visited the dealership one time and that was our first visit to this dealership. It was a walk in. Our first impression was that the staff didn't care much about us. We were first time BMW buyers and we wanted to drive couple of vehicles with different options, but the agent offered us only one vehicle to drive and left for another appointment. He recommended to visit them on another day. Even though we walked in, he should have arranged something for us on the same day. We were very surprised and thought we would never go to this dealership again. However, another day in their website, we noticed the vehicle with our desired options in the lot and wanted to have the test drive. So, we went there again to drive that vehicle with an appointment. We really liked the vehicle and debating whether we should buy that vehicle (pre-owned with 1600 milage and about $6000 rebate) or a brand new one with same options. We asked the staff (including finance manager, couple of people from sales and selling agent) about the major differences between buying that pre-owned vehicle vs new one. They just said that there is no really any difference other than we lose three months of warranty due to pre-owned and highlighted the rebate we get for that. We also asked about the end of year promotions. They said that there have not been any end of year promotions after Covid. We decided to buy the vehicle on the same day as we liked it a lot. It was a too quick decision and dealership took a great advantage from our hurry. 1) The dealership offered us APR around 7.75% with PNC bank and mentioned that it is the best rate among financial institutions they checked. Our credit scores are almost 800 and we should be eligible for best APRs. When we checked later, PNC is offering 6.25% for used vehicles and that's the eligible rate for our vehicle. 2) Princeton BMW don't have BMW genius service, therefore, they offered us a 1/2 hr session with an expert to learn about operations. That was a college student(she was knowledgeable). But, within 1/2 hr she could show us only a few options of the vehicle operations. She said we can schedule multiple sessions to learn more. Who has time to visit the dealership multiple times. The dealership doesn't value their customer's time. Given that we are first time BMW owners, we obviously had more questions. 3) Later, we went to Flemington BMW dealership to have "BMW genius service" (2 hour service). The person who is offering genius service at Flemington BMW is very knowledgeable and friendly. So, we got a chance to learn everything in details. Also, he offered us to contact him at any time if we have any questions. So far, he has responded even to our emails very fast. Overall, the staff in that dealership was very friendly and taught us much more about everything. During our visit there, we learned that there have been year end promotions going on in every BMW dealership in December and BMW financing APR for month of December is low as 4% for new vehicle. Princeton BMW team didn't reveal it to us on the day we bought the vehicle as they wanted to sell the pre-owned vehicle to us. That's a shame. We don't expect a dealership to teach us everything. But, what type of staff they are to hide the available BMW promotions just to sell one used vehicle. Not like other dealerships, they don't advertise the year end promotions in their website either. 4) After the purchase, we wanted to cancel some of the vehicle maintenance packages we bought with the vehicle purchase. That was because we later realized that those packages are not needed for us given that package expire within 5 years, and we don't reach that milage within 5 years to have the required maintenance. When we talked to finance lady to cancel it, she was very aggressive. She really didn't want to help with cancellation. This dealership is governed by third party management company and these cancellation processes are complicated. Finance lady was not helpful at all during the process as she was very upset about cancellation. Later, we could purchase a similar maintenance package for long term (7 years) for cheaper price from another BMW dealer. 5) We found a different lender with lower APR(1.775% lower than PNC) for refinancing and again happened to talk with finance lady at Princeton BMW. She mentioned that we can do refinancing only once for a vehicle and therefore to be careful. She wanted us to stay with PNC (lender they found for us). Actually, we learned that we can do refinancing as much as we need from our new lender. So, finance lady at Princeton BMW provided us false information. In short, this is a staff without BMW quality. They need to learn to respect and value their customers more. We never recommend this dealership for anybody. Go to Flemington BMW for better service. read more

SHADY maintenance personnel. Fraudulent business. Had to almost fight tooth and nail for a refund after they claimed to have performed the service, and the issue was still there. On top of that, they performed VERY shady service for the air bag recall. NO ONE should feel safe bringing their bmw to this location until they fix their mess. And make sure you do your research before going in, because they tried to give me the run around saying items didn't work, after I had verified everything was working before bringing the vehicle in for service. Absolute worst experience with place, also treating me as if I didn't know how to work on bmws. So teach your sales reps better info on maintenance and what will, and will not work on vehicles, And teach your maintenance team to actually fix the issue, instead of just standing there and claim it's fixed, charging me almost $300 when you did absolutely nothing. read more

"Rich Robinson took a deposit and sold car out from under me" I've purchased 4 cars here, and my family has purchased 10 total. I started working a deal on a 2015 x5 on Saturday. I put a deposit on it Monday morning, and darn near missed a flight doing so. I have a mutually executed deposit form, confirmed it verbally, over the phone and via text message to be sure that the car would be held for me until I returned on Tuesday. I find out via text message that they sold it to someone else on Saturday. Funny thing is, I was at the dealership on Sunday checking out the car. Best part about it all, is that I referred my brother, a first time bmw owner to them just last week, and he purchased a car from Rich. Gee, thanks for throwing that in my face. Unethical, dishonest, lame. They lost my business and my family's business for good! read more

I purchased a Certified Used 2013 328 X Drive from them that was almost paid off. I had it in for service several times after the warranty ran out, each time they managed to find nearly $2000 worth of service needed. Within the 2 years after the warranty ran out they found 2 cracked rims, worn bushings, worn tires with less than 15,000 miles on them. I also had the timing chain tensioner replaced (including serpentine belt) because it is a well-known issue with the N20 engines. This was thankfully covered. The last time I brought it in they told me that the rear brake assembly was rusted out and needed replacement ($1400), along with another cracked rim. I had them replace the cracked rim ($600) and took the car home. That day I traded the car in on another brand. I thought my frustration was over... 6 months after getting rid of the car for the above reasons, I received a service video from Princeton BMW with my old car. Apparently the new owner took it in for an oil change and I was sent the service video by mistake. The rusted rear components were not detected this time but they recommended replacing the serpentine belt which was recently replaced when they replaced the timing chain tensioner. Maybe this is a coincidence, but I feel I was told that things were wrong with my car that may have been exaggerated at the very least which made me decide to prematurely sell the car. It had less than 15,000 miles when I bought it and less than 40,000 miles when I sold it 4 years later. read more

I am updating my original review, in light of the situation beginning to be resolved. The original issue I had with BMW Princeton was them not honoring a brokered deal that was made in April for a custom build BMW due to them no longer working with brokers. It led me to start to think about what to do in terms of acquiring a new car, as I had sold my car with the impression of a new car coming in shortly. To be honest I was very upset at that point, especially the news coming from Jim (GM). It did take a few days for Jim to call me back, and to be honest it was a surprise. However, it says much of his character of him in acknowledging the error in judgement, and letting me know that he would be honoring the deal as originally planned. I do value the honesty and transparency, going forward. As my car is still in transit to them, I'll have to save a final review once it has been delivered. read more

Still have to email and call 3-5 times just to get a simple acknowledgement or response from sales person on an item that is still pending. I am sad to say that recently, I had the most horrible experience with the Princeton BMW sales team. As I returning customer, I was even more than flabbergasted with the treatment I received. Several years ago, I purchased a certified pre owned vehicle from this dealership and the experience was totally satisfactory. That vehicle was recently totaled and my first stop to replace it was at Princeton BMW! Amazingly, the original salesman was still working so I was quite pleased and therefore expected the same service. I could never have thought that this experience could be so awful. One evening, I drove a pre-owned Jeep that had just come in their possession. The salesman informed me of the process: goes into shop for repairs, detailing etc. I was very clear that I was interested in purchasing the vehicle once I knew what the repairs were and that they had been completed. He was suppose to call me with an update which never happened at anytime. I called him the following day to check on the status and the salesman wasn't sure if it is was ready. Early on in the conversations I let the salesman know that I would be out of town for a long weekend but would be back on that Monday to continue the process. I called on Monday and he had apparently sent an email (naturally went to spam) to say that the vehicle had been sold over the weekend. He had my cell phone and chose not to inform me himself......I couldn't believe that he had sold the car out from under me, knowing full well that I wanted to make the purchase. So much for relationship building, lol. Clearly, my business meant nothing to them. I left 2 messages the next day for the sales manager to return my call. I wanted to discuss my disappointment and guess what, he never returned my calls! I realize that this dealership's priority is to sell new BMW's and I was interested in a pre-owned vehicle but seriously, this was going to be a sale! For years, I sang their praises but that will NEVER happen again.... I did purchase a vehicle from another dealership and had a fabulous experience: I couldn't be happier with the service from the sales team including the sales manager! The truth is we really wanted to buy a car from this dealership because it was so close to our home. We ended up making three visits to the location before finally getting an appointment with Richie our salesman. The fourth time we went to BMW and finally settled on the X5 of our choice after four hours we thought we had made a deal and negotiated the perfect price. They took all my confidential and financial Information and told me the car was in their other lot and we could get it any point. The sales manager Jowel signed off on the deal and we asked if we should leave a deposit. They said it didn't matter and the car was ours. The next morning at 9 AM we got a call from another manager Craig saying "oh our sister store sold that car over the weekend". Obviously we were shocked because they said it was in the inventory so how are you gonna make a deal on a car that isn't there. We believed them for the time being and I told them okay what do we do and he said oh I'm looking for comparable cars and I'll let you know. After not hearing from them for hours, i called again at 2 and was again told that they were sending me the information for another car soon. I finally got an email at around 5 on a car that definitely lacked some of the features on the car that we made a deal on. We ended up checking their website and saw that the car we had chosen was still on their website so we called the dealership and spoke to another salesman who told confirmed the car was still there. IN OTHER WORDS, they basically lied about the car being sold because they probably didn't want to give to us at the price we made a deal on anymore. We called the original sales manager Jowel and he basically started making excuses about "no we didn't lie..." and whatnot. Basically we are never going back there again. We ended buying an even better version of the car for about 500 more from Flemington BMW who's service and staff were absolutely amazing and gave us full disclosure of every detail. They know they have you and you are like a captive audience. Horrible greeting, especially with all the chaos due to construction going on at that location. Amazingly cold reception by the woman who took my registration etc and my service person Amy. She talked to me like if I was not a person but a machine. She wanted to charge $149 for a oil change that I had confirmed before arriving was $119. She argued and then changed after making a phone call. They actually charged even less so go figure. Stay Away from them. (Its about the service department and specific to the Service Adviser that I had) I had to take my BMW X5 there to replace my tired and i had a horrible experience. The Service adviser was very rude and he never returned by call. I had to call multiple times to find out when my car is going to be ready. By the time i got to the dealership my adviser was gone and the Actual invoice was much more than that he quoted over the phone. Also he didn't complete all the work that I had asked him to do. When I asked about it they said he will call me on next day but as expected he never called me. We all buy BMW for the ultimate driving experience and if you wanted the worst service experience you have to visit Princeton BMW. Because of this One person Princeton BMW lost my business.. Went to the dealership on a Saturday to look at cars with the intent of buying one. Wandered around the lots, in the dealership. No one greeted us or acknowledged us, even the sales staff that weren't busy. The cars were all locked up inside the showroom. I suppose if you are buying a BMW you already know what you're getting so looking inside is considered gauche. I mean, we are in Princeton after all? If you believe the signage, anyway. The post office seems to think that this is in Hamilton, NJ. Princeton apparently means pretentious, and we as buyers should thank our lucky stars that we are even allowed to grace the hallowed halls of Princeton BMW. We took our lucky stars and bought 2 cars from Flemington BMW instead. read more

This is a review of their service department, based on 10+ visits Let's start with the positives: + offers loaner cars regardless of where you purchased your BMW + complementary car wash + clean and modern facility, garage itself is immaculate + high quality workmanship now the challenges: - BOGUS ADDITIONAL CHARGES beyond parts and labor, labelled as "Shop Fees", booking person and service advisor does not mention they will just show up on your bill - difficult to get service advisors on the phone, general handling of phone calls is pretty inefficient - email contact with service advisor is sporadic at best, can't count on him to check his email - inflated parts pricing, for example cost of spark plugs was 2x multiple other suppliers of genuine BMW parts - often fails to complete repair within the quoted timing All in all, I wish my routine allowed for access to another BMW dealer, until then I will just have live with these guys read more

I am updating my previous positive review, because service continues to be great. Currently I'm navigating new tires, fixing my rims and some dings from an incident with a 5 year-old and a Big Wheels and I needed some advice. Alex Escobar-Castro, who sold me my car, continues to assist me with all things related to my car. I like that he is a straight shooter and also that he seems to be a point person for everything.... way above and beyond just sales. He is helping coordinate the complexity of getting all these things fixed, and quite frankly he doesn't necessarily have to do that, so I appreciate it! Poor service! Never take your lovely BMW to this place. The customer adviser was barely out of high school. Never saw the mechanic, but based on what his advice was, he was unqualified, to put it mildly. I had a problem with my turbocharger, and the adviser and mechanic both said I can continue driving the way it was, because to repair it would be expensive. I sought a second opinion at Flemington BMW and they said I had to replace it immediately. There were metal shards in the oil coming from the turbocharger and I was a few miles away from ruining my engine. I spent $60K when I bought my car and I expect better service from the dealership that got my money. The clowns at Princeton BMW are not worth your time. Go elsewhere or take a huge risk on your Bimmer. read more

My fiance and I went to Princeton BMW over the weekend and dealt with Mark. We couldn't of been happier. He wasn't pushy and took time to explain pricing. It was snowing and he went out multiple times to check on the cars we wanted to test drive and/or buy. He also stayed to help us with the paperwork way past closing time at the dealership. In our previous experience with another dealer, they asked us to leave 30 minutes before the dealership closed. When it came to negotiating a price, there was a definite give and take. But never once did we feel uncomfortable. We believe we received a fair price, and when we get our next BMW, we'll definitely come back to this dealer. read more

Ripoff. Bought a 5 series here and they sold me the dent and ding insurance for $900. Every time I call, they say they'll get back to me and they never do. This has been going on for over a year so I finally got the door ding fixed myself for $150. I live in Connecticut so they probably think I'm too far away to complain. Lesson learned. I have been considering a BMW convertible, so from time to time I receive emails from them. I received one from the manager, Jordan Johnson that said we have updated our inventory. When I looked they had eight models I was considering. I had some time so I stopped by. NONE were in inventory. That cannot be I said, there were eight. Oh said the salesmen, they must be in our Mt. Laurel office! Now why didn't I think of that. I called Mr. Johnson, he said he never sent the email, it was from their campaign office. He did apologize, but how can you trust an outfit that treats prospective customers that way. Business must be real good if they afford to play games like this. read more

They are professional, understand concerns and worked really hard to accommodate me. Dealers like this succeed because of there amazing standards of business.
