I recently serviced my 2005 BMW 325xi and there are two SERIOUS complaints I had. I went in for a diagnostic because my check engine light was on and was quoted roughly $4,000 to resolve the issues related to the light as well as several other issues they found. I took the night to think about it and the next day I was ready to go ahead with all the repairs. When I called and asked to hear all the repairs to be done one more time and the total I was quoted around $6,000 now. I'd advise anyone to take the time to keep written recorders of what they quote you on each repair as well as the total. Clearly, they can't be trusted to be consistent. Secondly, after getting my car back I stopped for gas on the way home. Immediately, the gas station attendant asked me to lift my hood up and proceeded to check the oil. He said he could smell it was burning and put 2 WHOLE liters of oil into the engine right in front of me. THEY LET ME DRIVE MY CAR OUT OF THE SHOP WHILE MISSING 2 LITERS OF OIL! No one at the shop mentioned to me I needed to add oil to the car or that some might have leaked out during repair and that it was my responsibility to replace it. If I had known I certainly wouldn't have minded paying to add oil to the car however they failed to do anything whatsoever. Though professional, my service agent didn't make me feel like he really cared about my car; rather, I was made to feel like my repair was just another case file on his desk. For the work that was done, I definitely got ripped off but that one is my fault because I thought paying a dealership meant getting superior quality labor than my local mechanic. Before writing this review, they did try to reach out to me asking me how they could resolve the situation but have yet to actually DO anything about it. If you really care about your car, consider deeply if you really want this kind of service. read more

I bought from here and everything went super smoothly, found a car tuesday morning and they delivered Wed morning. (I travelled from Cary, NC). Julie Mammino was helping and was really good with negotiating (hassle free since their prices are pretty good to start with), keeping the vehicle ready, helping me with the loan app, documents, even sending someone to pick us up when we landed just the next day at EWR. The lending officer was cordial and very nice, although he was pushing some packages pretty hard (thats his job!) I was able to finish up all the paperwork within 30 mins and be out of there. They even let us choose some bmw merchandise as souvenir (very nominal). I would definitely buy from them again if they keep having competitive prices. read more

Honestly the worst service ever. It seems they have no problem responding to reviews, so here's mine. I leased my car in January 2021, it is a loaner 330. It is now June, I have yet to receive my plates, after countless calls and the runaround. I spoke to the manager 3 weeks ago who promised to look into this and nothing. My car was also due for an oil change three weeks after purchase, I don't understand how or why they were unable to provide an oil change before handing me my keys. The sales rep Alex was quick with answering me when I was purchasing the car and since then he doesn't respond and anytime I call the dealership he's unavailable. My first experience at BMW Princeton service was good and I went back for the second time. The service advisor Amy was extremely rude and condescending. She continued to be rude and asked me if I was interested in getting my car serviced or I would prefer to leave!! It is shocking that Princeton BMW have retained people who behave badly with customers. The other staff was apologetic for her behavior and helped me out. However this experience was disturbing and I hope Princeton BMW takes action or they will lose customers. read more

I truly resent the fact that I cannot give Princeton BMW negative stars. Specifically, their service department advisors are the most incompetent, lazy, condescending - did I mention lazy? - misguided, ill-informed, dishonest people I have ever dealt with. ("I can't really tell you when it will be here. The parts come from somewhere in New Jersey, but I don't know where.") I thought my spring experience with Amy was the worst. Lo and behold, my September experience with Jason was a nightmare. (After dropping my car off at 8:20 am, and after not getting a return text or phone call all day, I finally got ahold of Jason late in the afternoon.) "So...you're telling me that my car has been sitting there for 8 hours, and no work has been done on it at all?" "It took us that long to diagnose the problem." "The problem was diagnosed in the spring!" "It's been a busy day, and we are short-handed." After four days, I got my car back. The 4-day, waste of my time and energy debacle is way too complicated and unbelievable to be sufficiently detailed in a single Yelp post. Let's just say that, after I'm finished with my current X5, I will never again purchase another BMW because clearly they do not care enough about their customers to hire employees who actually do their jobs. read more

BUYER BEWARE. I bought a used vehicle from this dealership one month ago and it now requires $5k worth of repairs, which Princeton won't take responsibility for. The glove box leather covering has completely peeled off, the trunk electric is unresponsive and the engine is having trouble. Jim Polito the GM told me "cars break down" in response to all of these repairs needed on a vehicle they did a "full inspection" a month ago. I've had to file a complaint with corporate BMW in an effort to get this issue sorted since Princeton has been terrible to deal with. I drove a Mercedes for 10 years and never had issues like this. I would avoid Princeton BMW - they don't care about their customers or stand behind the products they are selling. read more

I got a flat tire this morning but luckily made it to my destination. I immediately called Princeton bmw and they couldn't have been easier to work with and accommodating. Matt Cook made this process so easy. He sent out Tom Scott to take my car and give me a lender. During the crazy covid-19 times, I was so impressed with the precautions Tom took. He wiped everything down, kept his distance, and used plastic over the steering wheel and car seat. My car got done in the same day and they even offered to bring my car back to my house and trade back with the rental. Can't say enough good things!! read more

Things got better after I got upset and got the GM on the phone. Still, as another reviewer wrote, they are extremely difficult to reach on the phone. This involves making an appointment or getting notification of the status of the vehicle. It just seems to be part of their culture to not return phone calls or answer phones. This wouldn't be so bad, but the phone system forwards to some kind of automated system that cannot take messages. If you don't know an extension, you are just stuck. If you press zero, it hangs up. I liked the young man who sold me the car, but I have had repeated problems trying to get someone from service on the phone - both before my appointment or while they were servicing my car. I am frustrated enough that the roads in Princeton have destroyed another tire. So, I have a promise from their GM that I will get a replacement tire tomorrow. My final review depends on what actually happens tomorrow. NEXT DAY: The tire got replaced in the time promised. My service adviser, Ed, admitted that their phone system is terrible. He said that the parent company was recently taken over and they have high hopes of getting a decent phone system. read more

The service advisers lie about sending emails that mysteriously never reach us. The girl at the service desk is very rude. Definitely not the face of the dealership. We are in the market for a new car and went in yesterday to test drive the x1 and 328 sedan. Our salesperson was unable to answer most of the questions we had on the x1 during our test drive. Told us the car didn't have the auto stop option when it turns out that it does, and couldn't explain the differences between the 1 and 3 series ("they're different cars"). Basically told us that if we weren't going to buy a car that day he didn't want to give us a test drive of the sedan- not the kind of service that will get Princeton BMW our business. read more

Poor service! Never take your lovely BMW to this place. The customer adviser was barely out of high school. Never saw the mechanic, but based on what his advice was, he was unqualified, to put it mildly. I had a problem with my turbocharger, and the adviser and mechanic both said I can continue driving the way it was, because to repair it would be expensive. I sought a second opinion at Flemington BMW and they said I had to replace it immediately. There were metal shards in the oil coming from the turbocharger and I was a few miles away from ruining my engine. I spent $60K when I bought my car and I expect better service from the dealership that got my money. The clowns at Princeton BMW are not worth your time. Go elsewhere or take a huge risk on your Bimmer. read more

Over the past two weekends I attempted to negotiate a lease at Princeton BMW. Here I my story: The culprit here sold me a BMW last year. Because I thought he gave me a good deal, I returned. This good deal, however, was not so good, because he was willing to give me $20,000 on a car that I owed approximately $21,500. After fourteen months I was "upside-down" on the car that he had avowedly given me a good deal on. I inquired why and the response was some babble about it not being his fault or my fault, but the economy. Huh? I guess our ill economy is a valid reason for everything - like trickery. I suggested we begin at invoice price. He was reluctant and visibly annoyed at this and said "I do not have it." He then gave me the canned lament "don't you think a salesperson should make a few hundred bucks on a vehicle." I agreed, but this was not the point. His implication, however, about not making money was a sleight of hand because the following weekend he informed me that the manufacture was paying bonuses during the month of November for unit sales. I called him the following Friday with the lease-formula, invoice, destination charge, sales tax and profit I was willing to give him. I suggested that we avoid the proverbial b.s. and know that I had access to most of the information for this car. I provided him my numbers, but he refused to acknowledge the invoice cost - $32,060, which I obtaind from Edmunds.com. My offer was $33,185. While on the phone he located a car and quoted me $35,675. This was a difference of $2,490 from my calculations and profit. And this was after he made the pathetic plea the previous Saturday that he should get a nominal profit and knowing a unit sales bonus was included. Nevertheless, I pressed him on the invoice and to review my numbers step-by-step. I attempted to explain my numbers, again starting with the invoice. He persisted by saying that this invoice number was not accurate, he did not know where I got it and that other costs were built in. So I told him Edmunds.com. He then discredited this web-site by saying those numbers are often inaccurate, but never explained why. Rather, he said that the dealership calculates the invoice by taking eight or nine percent of MSRP, subtracting it from MSRP and then adding other charges. I went to the dealership the next day to discuss numbers and hopefully lease a car. But before we began this exercise in futility, I asked to look at a similar car. He showed me one and let slip that I would really enjoy the standard transmission. What? I never mentioned anything about a standard and neither did he, until now. And standards are cheaper than automatics. So now I really needed to reconcile my numbers with his. The first questions I asked was why Edmunds.com would publicize an identical MSRP to his, but the invoice would be different. I asked him this because he showed me the MSRP he was using, which was identical to Edmunds.com. He claimed other costs. I pressed him for these other costs. He rattled off advertising, training, mats, detailing and filling up the gas tank. I asked what exactly these costs amounted to. He said he did not know exactly. I told him that I cannot accept these unknown costs. So he frustratingly pulled a piece of paper from his desk. I looked at it, and here was the MSRP and invoice cost. The invoice cost listed on this paper was $32,060, the exact invoice price on Edmunds.com! This was the elusive number he claimed ignorance to, the number that he said was calculated using a percentage of MSRP and vociferously stated was inaccurately published on these websites. I made a final offer of $34,500, which included a $500 profit. He dramatically whistled, and true to form went to confer with his boss. His offer: $34,795 and told me my numbers were wrong. He calculated the lease payment on his computer, which was one dollar over mine. Fine, but I did not build the cash rebate into my price -$1500 - and therefore asked for validation of my calculations. I showed him my lease calculations using the lease formula. He dismissed it and offered some gobbledygook about New Jersey taxes and New York taxes changing, which affected the lease formula I used. Did he mean the universal formula that resides on numerous websites and that I have successful used in the past was now bunk because two states changed its tax code? He also complained to me about overanalyzing the numbers. What? I am about to negotiate a $34,500 car that I will be paying for the next three years and I am overanalyzing the numbers, namely the numbers he was unwillingly to disclose. He offered me my paperwork back and I told him that I would think about his offer. This was my first fib, but I needed to vacate the building and find the nearest shower and cool my frustrations. read more

Avoid this dealership by all means necessary. They are a group of incompetent technicians and service advisors. They are there to get the most out of your pockets and not your best interest. Repairs are never done right. I've had the worst experience with them for repairs on my 5 series. I've had to take multiple trips to the dealership on one repair which should have been done in the week that I've left the car there for them. Technicians seems lazy. They refuse and/or reluctant to fix parts under warranty. Sad excuse for a bmw service center. I will not take my car back to this bmw. I'd drive the extra mile for quality service for the price I'm paying. Not a good representation for BMW. I probably will not be purchasing another BMW due to this reason. I've been shopping for the right deal for what feels like forever. I found an ad on BMW's website under their CPO section and called Princeton BMW. I worked with Rich Robinson and the entire process was awesome. Most dealers don't want to say anything other than, "When can you come in to test drive?" Regardless of what your needs are, that seems like the automatic response 99% of the time. Rich was able to work with me as a long distance buyer (100 miles away or so)and we figured out everything over phone and email in the week before my purchase. When I arrived (45 minutes before closing) I was treated in a way that I would like to think I treat my own clients, with great appreciation. I had some problems producing my title and that added on a lot more time to the transaction, but even after everything was said and done (well after their closing time), Rich sat me down in my new car and set up my Sirius, walked me through all the car's features and more. We didn't leave until around 2 hours after they closed, but I was given a full understanding of my car and I am very appreciative of that. I would gladly do business here again and would recommend anyone I know to at least give these guys a shot. read more

I had an appointment at 9:15 for a tire pressure system issue. I showed up and was told everything looked fine and that issues like this happen in the cold. I explained again that it wasn't a pressure issue it was a system issue. Then I was told they couldn't help because the computer didn't show any issue. I asked if they could please look into it further because I didn't want to have to come back for the same issue. I wears told it would take an hour to just scan the computer. Really? Over an hour later I'm told they found the issue and it would be another 35 minutes to fix. Why did I make an appointment? While I'm waiting for the repair, they decide to move cars around the showroom for someone to test drive and fill the place with exhaust fumes. Now I feel sick on top of being frustrated with the service department. read more

The service Department is horrible and not helping at all. My car was due for a tire change. I called them three times and they gave me a quote(same price for all the three calls). I made an appointment and went in, then they claimed that they did not honor the price they gave me over the phone. Then they claim that they are not BMW, they are just some other franchise. So I took my car to another place to have the tired changed, cheaper and better. Most of all, more helping staff and technician to answer my questions and concerns. I do not go to this dealer again and I do not recommend it to anyone either. This is the worst car service dept I ever dealt with. Stay away from them!!! read more

I recently purchased a X5 and have been enjoying being a bimmer owner. Though my vehicle was not purchased at Princeton, this is the closest service center and so I decided to utilize their facility. I have experienced nothing but courtesy and the willingness to help solve any problem I bring to them. I was having issues with my fob and they kindly replaced both batteries which resolved the issue. When it came time for my first service, I was given a loaner, and able go in to work without the constraint of being without a vehicle. In addition, my car was returned to me later that evening, clean and in great shape. I would definitely recommend Princeton BMW for service or sales. The staff always seem very happy, all hands on deck and I have been very impressed so far. read more

the service staff is awesome...but not everything else....the tires on our car were super badly aligned but noone ever told us that... they just said they were worn out...didn't tell us why the wear is so uneven that ANYONE can tell it was from bad alignment...Service manager REFUSED to take any responsibility and just kept saying " We said tired needed replacement" Never again.... read more

I own a 2007 BMW 7 series. When I purchased the vehicle, I noticed that a drawer in the dashboard had been jamming and there was a slight issue with the driver-side window shade in the backseat. I brought the car into service a few months later to be fixed (under warranty) and they advised me that it would be $1,500.00 to fix the window shade! I was further advised that the warranty did not cover this issue and if it was an issue when the car was first purchased, I should have brought it in sooner! Basically, it was my loss! I was not aware of the window shade issue until recently because no one sits in the back seat of my car, I do not have children and the window shades are always kept up. They were arrogant and did not even want to work with me! I am very disappointed and would not recommend this service center to anyone!
