Cons: Weak management, dated apartments, trash compactor breaks often, animal waste everywhere. Halstead has potential to be "great " however, the apartments are dated. Cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms faded, scratches, never touched up or aligned since when it first opened up as the Reserve. Porches have lots of storage/trash even though it's prohibited. Most apartments still have the original rugs! The rugs are sparse and dirty. The replacement rugs are cheap and show wear within a year. There is paint splashes everywhere the counter, cabinets, floor and rug from when the painters come in after a tenant leaves. If you happen to bump into the wall, your clothes will also be covered in paint from the numerous coats on them over the years. You can't have your own ceiling fan they make you rent one from them for $15 a month which is totally insane. These are these fans are antiquated. In terms of management, The manager, Malik, is weak. He doesn't seem to enforce policies mentioned in the lease. He appears "unphased" by anything so you feel as though he doesn't care. For instance, during a snowstorm an email goes out when you need to move your car by and the time they're going to plow. What happens is many don't move their car and the plowing is difficult for the company. This leaves piles of snow in spaces that should be used for parking. If you're going to put out a memo that your car will be towed then tow the car after the first instance, people will move their cars then!! Catherine the leasing specialist, however, is friendly and so pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, tenants and anyone who walks through the property does not pick up pet waste. There was poop everywhere even right next to the place where you deposit the waste. The poop situation is concerning there. The hall rugs need replacing, the doors need repainting where you come in and go out of the building. Halstead lacks upkeep inside and within the building itself. The screens are thread bare. I heard that if a dishwasher, washing machine needs replacing that they pull one form storage. The management company refuses to buy any new appliances!! Don't be fooled by the "outside". If they took some money and fixed up the inside of the apartments to look as nice as the outside it might be worth the price of the rent. They do the bare minimum, actually not even the bare minimum when new tenants are coming in. The management team didn't even do a walkthrough before I moved in. I would suggest that the management team go and walk the grounds regularly. Take note at who's got junk and trash on their porches. Walk through empty units and have a maintenance department or an outside company come in and redo the cabinets the floors, the rugs, make it look nice for what they're charging. They raise the rent each year by at least $100 yet, nothing has changed in the unit. The price should actually be less for the lack of any maintenance other than what the tenant does. Lots of pot smoking going on in the parking lot and on the grounds for a non-smoking complex. There are lots of brand new complexes going up in the area to compete. For a one bedroom starting around $2400 and nothing included, unless you're set on living in Holden, you should keep shopping.

She was beyond professional, patient and answered every question I had including, "Where's the nearest hospital to the complex?" - a question I've since learned isn't often asked. Upon viewing the complex and meeting the staff, I instantly felt at home. I didn't just need a place to live, I wanted this place to call home. I lived in a one bedroom, one bath for the first year, but quickly outgrew it. I was able to easily move into a two bedroom, two bath on site and had no intentions on moving anytime soon. As luck would have it, I got a promotion to the Big Apple, and had to leave my beautiful apartment behind. If you're looking for an attentive staff, look no further than The Reserve on Salisbury. Krissy, the Property Manager, Kate, the leasing agent, and Dave and Shaun from maintenance are truly some of the best people I've had the pleasure of experiencing while living in an apartment community. I couldn't have asked for better people to know on site. They would always greet me, helped me if I needed anything and were always communicative. I find that so important in a community. The surrounding areas are quiet with plenty of areas to walk around, the grounds are kept beautifully, the neighbors I've encountered are kind... Take a look at this property. You won't regret it! It is an apartment complex that does not have amenities such as a gym, pool, grills, etc. It is aimed at the working professional. The managers treat everyone like family which makes this place unique. They are courteous, professional, yet fun and VERY prompt with requests and suggestions. Note: because of the buildings being very new and privately owned, they are more expensive. However, you do get 9 foot ceilings, lots of room, in-house washers/dryers, central air, and the buildings are all energy efficient (our monthly electric bill hasn't passed $80 and we blast the AC almost all day everyday).

The alternative apartments were either: a) reasonable rent, generic with white walls, white carpeting, walled off Kitchenettes with old appliances b) high rent, well equipped with modern designs, fitness rooms (extra fees), tennis courts and outdoor pools Madison Place features apartments with a modern, open design. The kitchen faces out to the living area and has granite counter tops, new appliances and track lighting. Washer and dryer are tucked away nicely behind a sliding door. A bonus feature is the large storage closet directly across the hall from the apartment. It totally beats having to go to a storage cage in some creepy basement like most places. It's the kind of place where a successful professional would want to live. Madison purposefully lacks the outdoor amenities like a pool and tennis courts in favor of charging less for rent. I am always able to park close to my building with plenty of spots for company. In addition to the great design and reasonable rent, the office team, Jen and Mark, are incredibly good-natured, responsive and customer service oriented. I always leave the office with my questions answered and a smile on my face. Anytime I receive packages during the work day, I find them right outside the door of my second floor apartment. I could easily pick them up at the office, but having the staff bring them right to my place is a welcome luxury. Lastly, the couple times where I needed minor repairs, the maintenance guy, Eddie, completed the work the same day. Parking lots are well cleared during the snow. Essentially, if you want an upscale apartment for a generic apartment rent, with customer service oriented office / maintenance staff, I highly recommend MP in Shrewsbury.

The apartments themselves are comfortable, and the property is generally well maintained. Unfortunately, there are several ongoing issues that have added unnecessary stress to daily living. The biggest concern is parking. There is no assigned parking, and despite paying a significant amount in rent, residents often return home to find no available spaces near their building. It is not uncommon to have to park on the opposite side of the complex and walk a considerable distance home, which can be especially frustrating after a long day or during bad weather. Another issue is the trash and recycling situation. There is only one centralized trash disposal area serving the entire complex. On weekends, when trash collection does not occur, the dumpsters frequently overflow, with garbage and recycling accumulating outside the containers. This creates unpleasant odors, appears unhygienic, and raises concerns about attracting rodents and pests. Additionally, there appears to be inconsistent enforcement of parking rules. We have observed individuals parking in handicap-designated spaces without displaying the required handicap placards or license plates, seemingly without consequence. This is concerning and unfair to residents who genuinely need those spaces. While the apartments themselves are nice and spacious, improvements in parking management, waste collection, and rule enforcement would significantly improve the overall resident experience.

They are very professional and haven gone out of their way to ensure that our new home is perfect. Parking can fill up in the early evening, but other than that, absolutely nothing but great things to say about the staff and apartments!
