It's really a special treat to see beautiful arts hanging on the wall of a local Bamboo Hair + Body. The location is convenient, right off Main Street of down town Half Moon Bay. I love the vibrant colors of her paintings. My photos do not reflect how unbelievable her creativity and her color work of her arts. I highly recommend to come and see her paintings with your own eyes. I appreciate her nature capture in still arts. I feel happy and inspired looking at her beautiful bright colorful paintings. Her creation is unique, special and rare! Her arts, especially those with the hummingbirds inspire me to love, to hope, and to be happy and creative. I was really happy with my looks throughout the event and Kary was attentive throughout, really glad to have hired her. During the makeup trial she listened to my needs and took times to try multiple styles and looks until I'm comfortable with my choices. Her makeup style is very beautiful and natural at the same time, she has a great understand of Asian features. I felt very beautiful. During the event she stayed around for almost the whole ceremony to reception, helping with touch ups and outfit/look changes. She was also great with my mother and bridesmaids, patient and giving styling support when my mom had questions. However I think there's room for improvement in her team. The second HMU she brought with her to help with the other half of my bridesmaids was not as good. My bridesmaid mentioned that her side bun constantly fell out and after asking to be fixed multiple time they just ended up fixing it themselves. The second HMU also didn't seem to have the same joy as Kary and wasn't too friendly. Outside of that, Kary's husband Eugene does all her booking, scheduling and communications. Have some patience for him to get back to you and double check the booking times as I experienced some mixed up during the trial booking. Overall I would definitely recommend working with Kary for your makeup, you will not regret it, she really took good care of me.

Getting into contact with Eugene was easy, and they were fully transparent about prices and packages from the get go, which I was grateful for. We had a very large group (10 ladies) getting ready the morning of, and she and her assistant did absolutely wonderful for everyone's hair and makeup!! Some of my girls hardly wear any makeup, so they had no reference to work with, but Kary and her assistant made everyone feel comfortable and beautiful. I'm so grateful that she was so attentive, making sure that nothing feels uncomfortable on our hair or on our faces, and I'm especially grateful that her package included touch ups at the venue itself. I feel like most other makeup artists will do your hair and makeup the morning of, and you just hope that it'll last the whole day. I even asked to do a hair change for my tea ceremony, and Kary did it without hesitation and killed it. My mom especially loved the updo! We all know wedding hair and makeup takes a while, so it's nice to work with someone you can enjoy during that time. She was so nice, we had great conversation. On the wedding day, she took the two tiny little changes I wanted to make from the trial and executed them perfectly. I received so many compliments and the pictures turned out amazing! With HMU, you get what you pay for. I've learned that the hard way over the years being in other weddings. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny.
