Called on a Saturday morning and the technician, David, picked up right away. I told him about my refrigeration problem and he was able to come in within 30 minutes. The service call alone was $40 (I'm in Alameda), which was reasonable compared to other places I've reached out to on Yelp. The refrigeration problem was fixed in about an hour. When asked about other appliances (which is not in his area), David tried his best to help. He was able to increased the flame on my stove and shut off the pilot on the ones that I don't use. He also didn't charge me for this part ;). Overall, David is an honest family guy who offers quick and efficient work. David has serviced the multiple refrigerators in our cafe, but when we got a used ice machine that failed to produce ice, I went with another technician based on a recommendation. Bad decision. 5 months later, no ice. First it needed a freon charge. Then it was the board. Then it was the compressor. Then it was the expansion valve. I was tired of reverse engineering the thing. I just wanted frozen water. Enter David. I called him to check on a refrigerator that was running warm. He came out 10 minutes after the call ended. He discovered it was a stuck fan and had it running in less than an hour. And the staff loved him. Before leaving, I asked him to check on the ice machine. He took a look and found a leak. It took him all of 5 minutes to figure out what was wrong. He came in and fixed the ice machine. We finally have ice! I should've called David right when we got the ice machine. Lesson learned. I sent him over to the fellow business owner who recommended the other guy, and he promptly dumped that guy and is now having David handle his refrigerators and ice machines. read more

I am always grateful for honest, reliable repair people and I'm so glad that I found Priority Refrigeration on Yelp. My commercial fridge (SO-LOW 2 door) was having problems cooling down. I was advised to fix it myself, but when I opened up the fridge to take a look, I felt like a fish out of water. With all the responsibilities of being a small business owner, I really just wanted a professional to assist me in getting the fridge cold again. I called David and we set-up a window for him to show up. What was a nice surprise was that when he finished early at another job, he called me to see if I wanted an earlier appointment time. I thought that was a very thoughtful gesture. It turns out that my fridge need a shot of free-on and that a cap/screw was pretty lose, which could explain why there wasn't any free-on in the fridge. I told David that I was interested in learning how to add free-on myself, so he showed me how to attach the gauge and feed free-on into the fridge. It seemed easy enough, but as a small business owner, I would rather have professionals handle things like this! I appreciate the time he took to teach me how to do the job, though. The two of us laid out a plan in case I found the fridge wasn't staying cold (i.e. evidence of a larger problem, like a leak). My Beverage Air freezer went out on me, of course right after I stocked it with 150 pounds of ribeye and chicken... I called my regular guy and he said he couldn't make it out until Friday! So I ended up asking the restaurant next door if they knew a mechanic and they referred me to David. He was able to come out later that day, figured out what was wrong in 10 minutes and changed some relay capacitor thing he had already stocked in his van. The freezer was working it took less then an hour, and on top of that he gave me a 1 year warranty.
