They have a ton of minerals on display, from local to far away. Any Colorado rockhounder will appreciate the Boulder and Table Mtn collections as well as the San Juan minerals. I loved the display cabinets and lighting. There are two floors as well, and the bottom level has a really cool display mine for kids! They have some fossils as well, great to see. Watching the presentations about the solar system makes you feel like you're right there, riding alongside the planets and floating through space. Walking through the museum, interacting with the exhibits, and learning from the stewards made the visit even more enjoyable. It was also awesome to see school groups and summer camps exploring the museum. I love that the kids have a designated place to sit and eat their lunches instead of having to use the café. You do need to purchase a ticket to enter so I suggest doing that ahead of time. It also gives you a timeframe to enter just so it spaces out the crowds. Did you know that there's a scavenger hunt for gnomes, I think they look more like elves though lol the list of where to find the gnomes can be found on the museums website. This was really fun because it kept me guessing on where to look next, and when we came up to exhibit that supposedly had the gnome, I got to look really close at all the details of that exhibit. There are three levels to the museum, the ground floor, the second level and the third floor. Each one is broken up into different categories. They also have a laser show going on with different songs or movies for the theme. You do need to reserve a spot online so make sure you check out the showtimes, each week is different. I went with a friend and we blocked out three hours for this. The laser show we chose was roughly 30 minutes so we ended the day with the laser show. So the museum itself only took 2 1/2 hours.

Thinking all the events happened millions of years ago and during the Cretaceous Era when much of what we saw was under water. Since clouds, thunder and lightning were approaching, the staff warned us about the potential of being called back. Thankfully once we hit the trail the weather was good other than being cloudy. Saw a lot, learned a lot and experienced the wonderful world of hiking uphill. haha. Definitely worth it and will be back soon to check out the entire ridge!

I can't say enough good things about it but most importantly how is this free?! I feel like they could charge $5 admission & I'd still be cool with it but I'll take free all day! My son has never seen a farm & growing up in San Jose my mother often took my brother & I to a place called Prusch Farm. Very similar to this museum so I was delighted to be able to find something I could take my son to so that I could try to give him the kind of cool childhood memories I treasure. This was even better because of the working Blacksmith! My son was in awe by the whole thing but my husband & I have never seen a blacksmith in action either. The variety of animals plus the costumed volunteers & walkable buildings are such a great way to entertain a toddler. We got there at opening & were able to get everything done by the time it was getting more crowded around 11AM. I would definitely come back as we missed seeing the small indoor museum near check in. The inside of the museum was very interesting with an art exhibit, a special exhibit which currently focused on Kate Farretti and the Littleton history area which included a kids zone. The Kate Farretti exhibit depicted the life of a famous hat maker originally from Italy, she settled in Denver with her husband and made hats for Denver's elite including Molly Brown. Kate was also mother to the first triplets to be born in Denver. You can spend a couple hours here and make a day of it. I loved the living history farm portion which included 1860's and 1890's farms and contained 5 historical buildings as well as outhouses and a root cellar. It is an acutal working farm with 1800lb cows, turkeys, chickens, sheep, donkeys and a blacksmith! The gardens throughout were beautiful, we got to pick some pumpkins and see what would have been grown in this historical time period. Both livestock and gardens were accurately portrayed for the time period. You can only bring water in so don't try to do a picnic onsite. You are able to bring strollers and wagons and I would recommend doing so, there is a lot of land to be covered which requires a lot of walking.

We got paired with a tour guide, Christine, who made the whole experience much more immersive. She was extremely knowledgeable and learned everyone's names, kept the whole tour engaging and inclusive for all ages. we walked away feeling like this was a truly valuable visit. It may seem like small museum, but trust the process, allow about 2-2.5 hrs, and take it all in! It really was an enriching "hands on" experience and we learned a lot about dinosaurs in that direct area!

The light show is timed throughout the day and I arrived like 45 minutes early, so I had plenty of time to explore their "downstairs area." Tons of free arcade games. I played Pac-Man and whatever game it is where you shoot aliens. There is also a car racing game. There is an old school basketball game hooked up to an old TV. They have a large projector screen hooked up to a Nintendo switch with Mario and Zelda games. I actually really enjoyed coloring in the many coloring books they had. They have retro, funky furniture, fun decorations, and merch for sale. The light show itself is a fun time! No videography or photography during, but they do a basic show at the end so people can take photos and videos. You can lay on the floor or back in a pew on one of the many fluffy stuffed pillows and watch and meditate. They have great stoner music too (think Pink Floyd). And of course, the chapel itself is beautiful. No partaking in cannabis while in the building. They keep it family friendly (there were toddlers there when I went, but they were well behaved). They have multi-denominational church services a couple times a month where people can use cannabis. There is a lot of nearby street parking, as it's kinda in a residential area, though I took a Lyft. Also a mile or less walk to some of the main food and bar sites on Broadway.

Meow Wolf is one of the most entertaining things to do in the Denver area!…read more Meow Wolf is a series of art instillations across the United States, this one specifically being Convergence Station. I won't spoil the story, but there are plenty of things to find with the Q-Pass and by exploring the various "worlds", but even without experiencing the story, it's incredibly fun to just walk around and see what all you can find, and they're constantly updating and adding instillations, which is sure to keep you coming back! Do note that Meow Wolf is an art instillation, don't come expecting an Arcade with games to play and countless things to do, instead think of it as an adult-sized version of those interactive sections at the museums, slightly mixed with a playground, all wrapped in a weird, fun, artsy package, so if that isn't your thing, be warned. Overall, Meow Wolf is an amazing experience that you should definitely try if you're in the area!
