After a year and a half of enjoying our first huge renovation with PRISTINE CONSTRUCTION, we realized it was time to beautify our home with their exquisite touch again. This time we focused on our daughter's room, which was just a room. Once again, Nathan came up with an incredible design which made her room into an elegant, hotel like, bedroom suite! French doors to our backyard with an amazing brick step down, double, walk-in closets and a to die for whimsical bathroom. Demolition, pouring of new extended foundation and framing started promptly on July 5th. Within a week and two days, the framing was done! Incredible! We love Andy's framing due to the devoted workers he sends. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC came next. Nathan spent personal time with us picking out plumbing fixtures, tile and flooring. What a Godsend he is. Mike was over practically every day checking on the details. The cabinetry whiz, Yone, specially designed our daughter's desk, bookshelf and bathroom cabinets and even added a special hair dryer plug inside one drawer! Pristine Construction worked on our project as if it was their own home. Never did we experience one headache, which in this day and time is rare! The incredible patience of Nathan and the detail-orientated kindness of Mike was much appreciated. Emma at the office gave us daily updates on scheduling in such a professional and sweet way. Our daughter was very much a part of the design of her room and she was speechless when it was finished. Leave it to say, she is the envy of all of her friends! Several years ago we used Pristine for the beautiful remodel of our bathroom and office and later we hired them to remove and replace ductwork before installing an air conditioner/heater. I hired them again last fall to repair the house after our roof leaked and caused much damage to our home. We needed a totally new powder room, the office ceiling floors and walls had to be removed and other areas had to be repaired. My husband had been ill and passed away just before Nathan and his wonderful team began the job. Our remodel was completed yesterday, 9/24. We started Tuesday 8/11. i think it's a new record - a little over 5 weeks for a massive remodel of our kitchen, guest bathroom and all new floors throughout the house. We met Nathan and Pristine a few years ago, when we were looking to remodel our master bathroom. Pristine was (is) one of the highest recommended contractors on Angieslist, and we included him in our bidding and review process. he won us over, and several weeks later we had a fantastic new master bath, and the most pleasant home construction project we had ever been through behind us. When the time came to remodel the rest of the house, Nathan was our one and only choice. A remodel of this size is not a small undertaking, and not something you consider lightly. We actually debated for more than a year, weighing options and costs, and Nathan patiently would work with us, sitting at our old kitchen table, discussing options and giving opinions on how to get the best result. With Nathan and Pristine in charge you really have a great partner by your side, helping avoid bad decisions (tell me, how many kitchen remodels do you do a year? Nathan does a ton, and has so much good advice!). The remodel started at 8AM on 8/11, as promised. The crew showed up every day, on time, ready to work. I would often stop by unannounced, and the crew was always hard at work, no distractions, getting it done. Mike was our project manager, and kept the day to day flow of work well in hand. His crew was immensely helpful in working around us, as we stayed in the house during the remodel. They would help us carry heavy items, and they made sure our living space was untouched and protected from the construction as much as possible. Final polish is now complete, and the house looks amazing. We essentially have a whole new house. Nothing was untouched. New kitchen, custom cabinets, new appliances, walnut floors throughout, new guest bath (was gutted), all new lights (LED), paint on all the walls, new baseboard, you name it. It looks stunning. Hard to believe it's the same house actually. Nathan, Mike and Pristine are as good as it gets. The original timing estimate was 3 months - they beat it by almost 2 months. There were days that a crew of 8 or more was in the house at once, all working on different items. That's unusual, so don't let that be your expectation, but do expect Nathan to over-deliver every time. We incurred a few change orders, but all of those were items that we chose to add or change. All told that ended up being pretty minor. Pristine is not the least expensive option, but do you really want the lowest bidder doing this work to your house? Or do you want the right crew, with the vision, the creative chops, the construction chops to get this done perfectly? I can't say enough good things about them. We did an entire remodel with Pristine and I could not be happier with the results or the process. Nathan was very patient with us as we took months to figure out exactly what we were going to do with our house project. He met with us repeatedly to help us with design ideas and price/scope. Initially we drew up plans with an outside architect, since we were getting bids from a few different contractors. In hindsight, I would've let Pristine's architects do the plans which would've saved even more money. Either way, their estimate was competitive even with some smaller companies, and we chose to work with them. We are very glad that we did! We were very intimidated by the scope of the work we were doing, having never been through the process before. We had always heard that you should plan on paying '20% more than the quote' and 'if they tell you it'll take 4 months-plan on 6...' Thankfully, this was not the case with Pristine. The price never went up a single penny - except for when WE chose to change or add something- and even then, they would tell us ahead of time what the price difference would be, so we could decide. Not only that, but there were many instances where they added lights, or outlets, or countless little upgrades free of charge. (Unlike most contractors who 'nickel and dime' you for every little thing). As for the timeline, they told us it would probably take 5 months. We got ourselves a rental house for 6 months just in case. They were done in just over 4 months! Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic came about in the middle of our work. However the guys made the necessary adjustments and made it work, never making excuses or looking for extra time or money. All the workers were great - they worked safely, wore masks, and were always as quiet as possible and respectful of our neighbors. So much so that our neighbors even asked for Nathan's number for future work they were thinking of doing to their own house... Overall, the quality of the work is outstanding... the price was exactly what was quoted... and they worked safely and efficiently and finished earlier than planned. And, both Nathan and Mike were always available whenever we had questions or concerns. I'm not sure what else you could possibly want in a contractor?! I can not recommend Pristine more highly! I had been wanting to remodel my apartment for several years and finding a contractor and figuring out what I wanted, and could afford seemed overwhelming. A good friend suggested I contact Nathan at Pristine Construction...he'd completed a project for her a few years ago and she was having him come back for another project. I'd heard horror stories about projects coming in way over budget, time delays, and sloppy attention to detail and she assured me none of that would happen. I was skeptical but she had several examples of how professional he and his team are, and I am happy to say she was completely right, and now I can speak from personal experience...Nathan and his team are simply awesome! I didn't want a contractor who asked me what I wanted...I wanted a contractor who had ideas and suggestions on what I could do with the space I have, and he did just that. He showed up on time for our first meeting, and in fact throughout the entire project he was always on time. He spent an hour and a half with me and listened to what I was thinking, and offered great suggestions I hadn't thought of, and I'm pretty sure I took most if not all of them...he has exquisite taste! At the end of that first meeting he told me I needed to have everything picked out and ordered before they start, so the project keeps moving and isn't delayed, and recommended where to go for tile, wood flooring, appliances and fixtures and faucets. I took his suggestions, and everyone he referred me to was fantastic, and the service was top notch. On day one he said he'd be here at 8:00am to demolish my kitchen, master bath and take up the carpet...and at 7:58am he and a team of 6 all showed up! Throughout the entire remodel Nathan was always easy to reach, and always responded to my questions and concerns...and pretty much his standard response was np...no problem! :) I am happy to say I never had a sleepless night worrying that I wasn't going to be completely satisfied when the project was finished. I live in a condo and not one of my neighbors ever complained about anything...they were amazed how quickly the project was finished. For a few years, we looked for another house to buy, and just couldn't find one that we liked. We then decided to add on to our kitchen and stay in our existing home for a while longer (we've already been here for 20 years!). I had no idea who to call, what to do, so I went to Yelp and found Pristine Construction because of the good reviews they had. I called for an appointment and Nathan came to see me a couple of days later. OMG!!! I thank my lucky stars I found this guy!! We talked about the things I wanted in my new kitchen and he drew some rough plans. Nathan spent a total of approximately 10 hours with me without asking for a cent! I had two other bids where the guys told me I would have to buy a set of plans first, then we would design and price the job. Nathan showed me a 3-D drawing on the computer (awesome!) and we both thought it was pretty great until he came over the next day and said he came up with a better idea! We decided on his "better idea" and made an appointment for a start date. Nathan told me it was a 3 month project and he was true to his word down to the day!! We started on 2/16/14, the crew showed up exactly on time and Nathan showed up too! Very unusual, I'm told, in this business! These guys were all "top of the line" craftsmen! Every single day I counted my blessings that I found this company. Then down the road, Mike showed up! A true blessing in disguise! Nathan and Mike are partners and they make such a fabulous team. Nothing like I've ever seen before. They have a strict schedule and adhere to it down to the minute. I had to do nothing....they did everything! By the way, we pushed our kitchen out 5-1/2 feet with all top of the line appliances, etc., etc., etc. Nathan was there every step of the way with the purchasing of appliances, tile, flooring and more. Anything you could think of, Nathan had a suggestion, which I almost always took! And then Mike stepped in with suggestions and I went with those too! These guys are perfectionists and every single little thing had to be right before they left each and every day. Yes....every single day......Nathan was here or Mike was here, or they were BOTH here. Again, I am thanking my lucky stars!!! Midway through the kitchen remodel, we decided to tear down the fireplace in the family room and replace with mosaic tile, hang a new TV, etc. Nathan and Mike could not have been more accommodating. They immediately began that job and coordinated with the kitchen job, again, everything being finished at the same time and on time. (I can't get over these guys!) Our job went so smoothly I urge anyone looking for home improvement to hire these guys on the spot without interviewing anyone else. I can't be any happier than I am right now! We chose Pristine Construction for an extensive remodeling of our Valley Glen home. 1100 sq. ft. of new construction (new master bathroom, kitchen, pantry, laundry room, 1/2 bath powder room, recording and video studios, plus a meditation room) all while leaving the front part of the house intact. From our first interview, we were impressed with Nathan Moses, Pristine's owner. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and had a great sense of humor. He connected us with previous clients for references, and arranged tours of their homes so we could talk to the owners. When one homeowner greeted him with a big hug, we were impressed. After all, many homeowners are ready to kill their contractors by the time the project is completed! We'd heard horror stories about major construction projects, so we were very leery about this giant undertaking. But when it came time to discuss our vision for the house, Nate patiently walked us through the entire construction process. When we signed our contract, Pristine got everything together, from the consulting architect, to demolition, foundation, framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, flooring, wiring, permits, inspections, cabinetry -- everything down to the drawer pulls. Our construction site was a well-oiled hub of activity: from foundations, framing, and plumbing, Nathan and his partner Michael Malka orchestrated everything professionally. Bottom line, our project was done in 5 months. Pretty amazing for something of this magnitude. Today, we're enjoying an airy, spacious home that seamlessly integrates our classic California bungalow with a striking new wing. We give major props to Pristine for their attention to detail, follow through, and courteous, efficient workmen who went the extra mile to meet the schedule. So would we use Pristine again? Most definitely. But was our experience perfect? Not quite. There were a few glitches in communication. Take the new walk-in pantry. We expected the cost would include the shelving for said pantry. But it wasn't, and installing shelves cost several thousand dollars more. Would have been helpful if this had been spelled out. It also would have been helpful to know earlier in the process that we'd need new cement around the new wing, very apparent when we looked at the muddy areas outside the new wing, and realized new cement had not been mentioned in the scope. To be honest, Nate told us at the outset that change orders usually occur in older houses (ours was built in 1936). And sure enough, things that needed replacing, i.e. a wall behind the kitchen sink that needed rebuilding due to moisture damage and mildew. We should have been MUCH more forceful when Pristine insisted, over our wishes, on installing wireless, battery-operated doorbells that chimed only sporadically, and were inaudible in certain parts of the house. (We finally paid to have wired doorbells reinstalled, but it would've been much more economical to wire the doorbells during the framing phase.) And, for all their attention to detail, the Pristine team needs a low-voltage pro on call. To wire computers in the old wing with the network in the new wing, we had to bring in outside techs for this. But the memory of these minor annoyances has faded. And we are VERY happy with the results. Because the service you get from Pristine Construction is amazing. * Nathan guesstimated construction would take between 5-6 months. We were out of the house starting November 1st and moving back in on March 1st. Demolition and construction took exactly 4 months! For a project this size, that's practically unheard of. *There were NEVER any problems with permits or City inspections. Often big hurdles for less organized contractors, with Pristine, they went as smooth as glass. *Nathan and Mike run their company with almost military precision. When sub-contractors are scheduled, they show up early, and finish on time. *Their sub contractors are really good. Particular standouts were Andy, and his framing crew, and Faustino, the tile man, who is an artist. *Nate, Mike and office scheduler Emma were courteous and kept their cool under duress. *Nathan is amazingly punctual! If he says he'll meet you at noon, he's at the door at noon. He returns calls and texts on the same day, often in minutes. *Even after construction, Nathan has been VERY conscientious about fixes and make goods. He is a gem, and a mensch. We've been in our house for 12 years and eventually planned to remodel the kitchen. Description Of Work: Complete renovation of 70 year old bathroom, per plans and elevations provided by homeowner. This included moving all plumbing and fixtures which required stripping the room down to the studs. Pristine Construction used building methods consistent with a those used when the house was built in 1939. No shortcuts were taken and the quality of craftsmanship shows in every detail. Member Comments: As an Interior Designer, I have worked with many contractors in the past and Pristine Construction is a breed apart. I am all too familiar with the contractor who tells you that everything you want is so difficult or close to impossible to pull off. Only to witness in the end that they have somehow overcome all odd's and miraculously deliver on your plans, but not without their constant complaining and need for daily supervision. I recently read a book that calls this behavior "Contractor Kabuki". This time I took great care in my search for the right contractor to remodel my 70 year old bathroom. Working with Nathan, Mike and the entire construction team at Pristine Construction was in a word, painless. I will even go so far to say that it was enjoyable, even fun. This speaks volumes considering I have only one full bathroom which required my husband and I to find showering arrangements elsewhere :-/ . Remodeled Kitchen and Bathroom and replaced carpet with hardwood through entire house. Removed load bearing wall and added door into garage with new steps. Replaced electrical panel and installed custom cabinets with soft close doors, drawers and pull outs. I was very pleased with Pristine construction. They had an excellent eye for detail and filled in those extra pieces that you don't think about until near the end of a project. They didn't charge more for those extra finishing touches, but did charge for major changes to the project (as any contractor would do). We had to install new hardwood after we found out that the existing hardwood was damaged beyond repair. The project finished right in the middle of the estimated time despite some hang-ups due to missing items such as tile (supplier's issue, not the contractors). Having worked with several contractors both in NY and LA, we can say that Pristine Construction is by far the best contractor we've ever worked with. My wife and I own a condo and our kitchen needed emergency renovation due to a water leak from a unit above. Nathan, Mike and Emma were all amazing -- all supremely professional. Nathan went through the scope of work in great detail and listened carefully to what we wanted in the renovation. At each stage of the process, he and Mike told us exactly what they were doing and what next steps would be. Emma was incredible in that she would text us in the morning almost every day telling us what time the crew would show up or informing us of the next date the crew would be there. One of the most frustrating aspects of working with a contractor is the unreliability of a crew or a lack of communication about when a crew would arrive. Not with Pristine -- they did what they said they would do, on schedule and on budget without exception. And Emma's constant flow of communication kept us in the loop throughout the job. Mike oversaw the job -- can't say enough good things about him and his work. Any concern we had, Mike took are of. Patient, detail-oriented, highly skilled, Mike handled every detail and every concern we had without fail. He never forgot or overlooked any concern. And his work looks fantastic. We also appreciated Nathan's strong design sense and experience. He brought great ideas and vision to our relatively small kitchen. We took almost all of his advice, and in the few places we didn't agree, he would always defer to our wishes. Our kitchen looks amazing thanks to him and his entire company. Our one small reservation was their suggestion to use Kitchen Pros for our cabinets. First, let me say we love the cabinets we got from this company. Quality seems good and the their price was certainly competitive. However, the Kitchen Pro crew and their installation did have to come our a few times to make some adjustments. Again, thanks to Mike and Nathan, they always followed up and made sure all final touches were completed. In conclusion, these guys are the best -- honestly. We were a small job for them, but they treated us like we were their only job. We can't recommend them enough to anyone looking to do a renovation. They are the best! I was skeptical of remodeling our kitchen because you hear so many horror stories about contractors taking too long, charging more than they say, flaking out, etc. My husband and I were in disbelief at how OPPOSITE Pristine is from that. Pristine Construction is exceptional. I don't think I have ever encountered a better company.... and I have very high standards! Nathan and Mike are not only true to their word, totally professional, and incredibly knowledgable, but they are 2 great guys who are fun to hang out with! We hired Nathan and his team at Pristine Construction to restore our condo after it was damaged by a water leak in our neighbor's unit. This is the second time we've hired Pristine to do work for us and again we were extremely pleased. Pristine hires only the best craftsmen to do their work. They do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it. They have a very high standard for quality workmanship and they don't compromise when it comes to delivering a quality finished product. We were on a very tight timeline and Nathan was able to get our job done efficiently and within our desired timeline, which was earlier than his original estimated timeline. We were also dealing with insurance adjusters and consultants and Nathan was willing to get involved and help us as we worked with the insurance companies to get our claims processed. I am writing this after having completed a second home project with Nathan and Pristine Construction. Our friends referred Nathan and Pristine Construction to us after they worked with him on a remodel of their home and had a great experience. We first worked with Nathan a few years ago on our first project, a home renovation with every room in our home being redone. We replaced all the windows and doors in the house and installed a large sliding door to the backyard including new patio doors. Repaint of the entire home and installed a new gas fireplace. About three months later everything turned out just the way we wanted and it was one of the most pleasant home construction project experiences. When it came time to for our second project a complete re-roof of the house down to the frame and repairs to the home from water damage Nathan was our only choice for this type of project. After a week we had a beautiful new roof and another pleasant remodel. Along the way we had a few minor changes orders but things we added at our request. Nathan is very patient and discussed with us different ideas, giving us his opinions and advice to give us the best results so that we would not make any bad decisions. Overall we had a terrific experience working the Nathan, Mike and everyone who works at Pristine Construction. They crew are all punctual and all hardworking getting things done. Mike and Nathan helped us get the house ready for our new baby on very short notice. They closed off the hidden double doors to enclose the playroom, removed steps, painted and added crown moldings to baby's room and large living room. They also removed and relocated our water heater, installing a new tankless water heater. They closed off the old exterior water heater closet with matching stucco wall. Inside they opened up the wall where the water heater used to be and built a shelving unit. They were quick and very professional. Fantastic quality work. Pristine Construction was referred to us by a business associate who highly recommended them. We called and set up an appointment with Nathan and were very impressed with his presentation. We called the next day and booked them . Nathan had great ideas for the remodel to our kitchen and master bath . He was hands on for every detail and negotiated great prices on all our appliances , fixtures and tile. Our job start was January 18 th 2016 and finished ahead of schedule. Once the job started we met Mike and the fantastic crew. Everyday they were here 8 am sharp to 5 pm rain or shine . Depending on what was being worked on there were 2 to 6 guys working everyday . Mike was here everyday making sure everything was perfect . After a full day of work the area was left spotless. They handled every phase of the construction flawlessly and minor issues were handled smoothly. They went above and beyond the scope of the project without increasing the budget . The finished product is amazing and we are so excited to enjoy our new spectacular space . Nathan and Mike and their crew have done major projects in my home--replacing all of the windows, remodeling the kitchen and both bathrooms in my fifties era house. There are so many reasons that I have been a repeat client-- Quality--their workmanship and attention to detail is fantastic. All of their guys have great skills. We are very happy to recommend Pristine Construction. It is always difficult to have construction work done while living in your home. However, our bathrooms were completed early without any re-work. Nathan's work crews always showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. A couple of high points: 1) Nathan was very helpful when we were selecting bathroom fixtures and materials (tile, grout, and paint). This was a painless process totaling about 3 hours. 2) Nathan and Mike (company co-owner) always dropped by our home to check on the work being performed as well as to answer any of our questions. Nathan and Mike pay close attention to detail and don't hesitate to point out any concerns to their work crews. 3) We were always kept informed as to when work crews would show up and what work was to be performed. 4) In 1 bathroom, some extra plumbing was required after demolition exposed some issues. This resulted in a 1 day schedule delay. However, the work was completed without extra charge to us because Nathan does not use outside contractors. His work crews, headed up by Mike, do the work themselves. 5) We were comfortable with having a lock box on our door so that work crews could get access to our home when we were not there. In a nutshell, we are very pleased with our new bathrooms and are anxious to show them off this Thanksgiving. read more

Mike and Nathan completed a remodel of our kitchen and bathroom. We are extremely pleased with with outcome and the quality of the work. We have had bad experiences with contractors before and working with this team has changed our opinion of contractors for the better. Nathan was great from the start with ideas as well as meeting me at stores to choose finishes, materials and to provide advice. Both Nathan and Mike were at the work site multiple times a day. They were reachable by phone and met with us at the house, even on weekends. Mike came to our rescue one Saturday for a leaky washing machine. Thank you Mike.
