Background: When covid happened, we pulled our daughter, Mackenzie, out of preschool that spring and she stayed out of the school environment through the summer. She started kindergarten virtually, but unfortunately, she was one that did not build a good enough foundation to help her succeed in her schoolwork, even after they went back in person. Fall 2022: Fast forward to this school year, and we're at parent teacher conferences reviewing her MAP scores. She was essentially reading at a kindergarten level, and performing at a 1st-ish grade level in math. So, we needed to do something to help her catch up. We researched several places local centers and also considered private tutoring from teacher friends. We decided on The Tutoring Club for several reasons: 1) We liked the director, Jessica, who had the same ideology of how we learned "back when we were in school" and how their curriculum supported it. 2) We liked the flexibility to help Mackenzie with her school work, in addition to the curriculum they had her do. 3) We liked that it's a brick and mortar. We can always count on them being there, and they are also reasonable with absences - if we had to miss a day here and there because of our other extracurricular activities. Mackenzie started attending tutoring in mid-October and went for 2 hour sessions, 3 days a week. She loved it! The tutors incentivized the work so that she had a goal. They made it fun for her, and it motivated her to want to learn to read. The tutors are friendly and they made the experience enjoyable for her. Spring 2023: It's now May, and we received Mackenzie's final MAP scores of the year. Her test scores substantially grew over the entire school year, and she is now above grade level for both subjects! I would attribute her success completely to the work that the Tutoring Club has done with her, as we never changed anything in our home life. We are so grateful for the help that the Tutoring Club provided, and again, we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great tutoring center in North Las Vegas!

They say it's "a division of Hillsdale College," but if you don't look up the college, there's nothing to tell you it's a Christian school. If you WANT your kids to have a religious education that's fine, but I do not have those beliefs and nothing showcased this as a major part of school before Meet the Teacher. I was initially mislead about the school being free by an office employee who said I could get my kids in for their new highschool a couple of years ago. She said it was free (was SO much money for uniforms - THEN THE UNIFORM STORE SHUT DOWN) and she also gave no impression it was a Christian school when she described classes and operations. The teachers could not debate my 15 year old daughter, who was bullied and debated nonstop by peers because of her different beliefs. She had such excellent grades the administration literally begged her not to leave the school, but there was no way I would torture my kids with a second year in that vile environment. The school lunches were super low grade and barely edible. Even the vice principal acknowledged how nasty the food tasted in a meeting with me and she advised we bring lunch from home if we wanted it to taste good. Also, the teachers never communicated when there were issues with grades, they ONLY contacted parents for disciplinary issues. My son was failing a bunch of classes and ZERO teachers had contacted me about any of it! Oh, not to forget: on the VERY first day of school (24-25) an old female teacher GRABBED my daughter and yelled at her until she cried because she said "sh*t" while there were smaller kids outside, even though they were far away and could not hear and were not in any way paying attention to my daughter. Absolutely ridiculous from start to finish. Mr. Allread is a joke terrible teacher: he cried when he couldn't debate my daughter, even though she wasn't wrong AND when my son was failing so badly his grade was a single digit, Allread didn't even tell me. This is the WORST place to send your kids if you want them to thrive. They beat down individuality and force same-ism and same-think and that is HORRIFYING. And they ARE absurdly strict about the dress code, SO unnecessary. The pickup is a complete disaster, stretching for literally miles down the road, for like an hour. My son has a peanut allergy and some other kid wipes peanut butter on his shirt at lunch and his teacher refused to let him go to the nurse and he broke out in hives. I know this has been kind of all over the place, but there were just SO MANY things awful about Founders. I got my kids out as fast as I could. The ONLY reason they stayed the year was because I didn't want to send them to the worst highschool in town, but honestly I think they would have had a better year if they had gone ANYWHERE else, for their education and their enjoyment.

Kumon and Mrs.Roni helped him to catch up and excel. He studies in Biology Pre-med, about to be graduated. My younger one takes both Math and English. Besides academic improvements, he has learned discipline, patience, responsibility, accountability and commitment. He started so early; therefore, he thinks that Kumon homework is part of his life.
