When they do repairs, they do them well but they are lazy when it comes to big repairs. I was told the vibration I had in my car was the transmission. I was also told it was not missfiring, he had check for that. Brought my car to a transmission guy who told me my manifold cracked, was leaking antifreeze into the cylinders and was causing misfires. Most mechanics have the reputation of being sleezy charlatans trying to up-sell customers with things they don't need. Some of them also do mediocre work and try to pass if off. Some people even forget to pull in engine oil when doing a oil change and try to convince them the radiator is broken. NOT THESE GUYS. Saved my dad from getting ripped off by other shops in the area. I'm a gentleman so I won't bash them, but these guys really saved my dad a lot of headaches. Quickly diagnose what was wrong and acted quickly to get it solved. My dad gets everything done here now. Highly recommend this shop - they'll treat you well and will not lie straight in your face for a quick come up. Business the way it ought to be. read more

I work near Pro Auto Repair in Hackensack and discovered the place quite by accident a couple of years ago when I had a flat tire. LOVE this place! They almost make having your car fixed fun! I've been back several times since and would give them an A+ each time if I were a teacher. Both front desk staff and mechanics are friendly, polite, and professional. Tae Hwang is the mechanic who always seems to be there to take care of me. No complaints whatsoever. I often leave my car there in the morning, sometime after 8, and pick it up when I get out at 1. Have also stopped in in the afternoon and they've taken care of me super-quick whether I have an appointment or not. read more

Would not recommend. Told owner to check entire car for any issues. He stated back brakes. Had service done. The next day took car for a long ride only to find brakes did not work. Needed car to be rolled to place of repair service. I was informed by AAA that back brakes missing. Next day spoke with owner of pro auto. He fixed issue. Still charge red full price and only gave 100.00 for tolling of car. The scare of our lives. Company did not do the right repair. He only Apologized. He stated the mechanic did the work. Rented Uhaul truck online from here to move from hackensack to brooklyn. Drove back to drop off truck. All together it was under $100. Not a bad days work of packing and moving a 1br. The van we got was super nice. We could pretty much fit everything we owned in there. Tank was filled 3/4 and we only used 1/4 for the move. read more

I am really disaapointed with this place. I brought in a new tire and i asked them to install it. They charged me an installation fee which included balancing. As soon as I left the place, I got on route 4 and drove about 60 mph, the car started wobbling like crazy. I took it to my cousins shop in NY a week later and he told me they didn't balance it correctly. So i was charged a balancing fee, and they didn't even balance it right. If a auto shop cant even BALANCE a single tire correctly, why would you trust it for any repairs beyond that? That Korean guy with the curly hair pretending like he is the owner needs a reality check, you are just a lazy, employee. Do NOT goto this place. I started using Pro Auto Repair sometime in the mid 2000's. They were recommended to me by one of my colleagues (an engineer) who spoke of their honesty, level of knowledge and fair prices. When I changed job locations, I recommended them to family members, who have also found them to be just that. They are very approachable, they listen well, and most importantly- give you the best course of action to follow if your car is in need of repair. Safe to say- your car is treated as if it was one of theirs. Not surprisingly, their business has grown well and they've earned it. I've not rented a U-Haul from them, but would not hesitate to do so if I still worked nearby. They have no problem listening to troubles related to anything they do, so don't hesitate to be respectfully forthright and you're not likely to have a problem. read more

The first thing that I ask when I walked into the auto shop was "please don't burn me like AAmco did" as I went in to ask why I was charged 3500 for a transmission that leaked from the day I paid for it to be replaced. The new owner assured me that " I wouldn't get burned" and he did just that 1400 dollars later he fixed everything except what I asked for. Things really need to change in the auto industry regarding shady repair shops and with movers in Nj stop overcharging people when I officially announce that I am running for governor I will have a close eye on your corrupt practices. Stop ripping off the people Nj! Shame on you needless to say I won't be back to your shop but I think you did a great job fixing what I didn't ask for. read more
