Summary: more problems to this place than just the wait time. This review comes after several visits and purchases. Pros: specialize in handgun sales, have a variety and their promotional prices can be good. Also have semi-decent selection of accessories. Cons: 1.wait time is nuts, both before and after the assault rifle rush. 2.customer service is nothing to brag about, only saw one good sales rep after many visits. 3.ammunition prices are consistently terrible 4.DROS fee is the highest I have ever seen. By comparison many other places in the area charge about $20 or $25, but PROFORCE charges $35. 4.My number one issue that was the reason I won't return- purchased a handgun as part of a promotion that promised extras... I called before I went in and was informed part of the promotion wasn't available, but the gifts and the sales prices were still valid. That was enough for me so I purchased the firearm, but didn't find out until after that the promotional gifts were also not being given anymore. No public notifications were ever given for that, not even while I was making the purchase (and I emphasized I was buying as part of the promo). *Should have listened to other guys in the department about avoiding it. Purchased a firearm along with some extra magazines and was sold the wrong magazines. When I came to return them I had to wait 45 minutes to return something that takes probably no more than 2 minutes to return. These are the wait times that are not needed especially on an error that was made by their employee. Working ass backwards and not efficient. read more

Take a number, and hopefully you planned half your day around this visit. I came here to buy about $1,000 in product today, and walked out after an hour of waiting for my number to be called. And I wasn't the only one who walked out. Takes way too long to get any kind of service here. A room full of people standing around waiting to hand over their money, but people were walking out because it took too long to get service. Prices generally no better than anywhere else, either. Forget about the standards for gaining entry, it's just a marketing ploy to make their target customer.base feel special - if you have any kind of special ID you can get in. There was a straight up gangster with gang tats including on his face checking out an AK-47. Definitely wasn't a cop or fireman with tattoos on his face, so I'm not sure what kind of credentials he showed at the door. The extra star is for friendly staff. They really are good at customer service. I've. bought a gun and some accessories/parts here before and had a generally good experience, but it's just a shame the ownership doesn't staff more of them so people can actually buy stuff. read more

Long drive, super crowded, long waits. Four trips to this place and countless hours later, we finally left with one gun. If this sounds like fun, this is the place for you. One star for stocking the items we were looking for, and another star because the employees somehow remain friendly and professional in spite of the never ending mob of customers. If not for those factors, I'd give negative stars if I could. There's just something wrong with this setup, it shouldn't take two hours just to get up to the counter for help. You'd think they are giving away guns here. And there's no separate line for those wanting to just buy a holster or pick up their weapon--you get mixed right in with people filling out their DOJ paperwork. Hence the hours and hours you spend waiting. If still, against your better judgement, you decide to buy there--get there EARLY. I'm talking at least 30 minutes before they open in the morning. If you're not one of the first three people in line outside the door, your wait time is probably at least an hour. Yeah, never again. read more

Unfortunately, since they are owned by Davidson's, a very large distributor, they often are the only ones in town with what you want in stock. The employees are nice enough but sloths or garden snails move faster. By the way, if you are a LE professional and are getting advice on ballistics and terminal performance from a gun store clerk instead of the SME from your agency, you need your head examined. (Edited to add: The employees here are always friendly and helpful to whomever they are serving. It's just that there are too few of them and the setup seems inefficient. And to clarify, the store clerk did not necessarily give out bad info re: terminal ballistics. It is shocking to me that people who carry a gun for a living rely on information from a store clerk rather than the subject matter experts. The manager called today, likely in response to this review. It is nice to see they are trying to address the efficiency issue. I sincerely hope things change for the better. I called today to check on availability of something I'm looking for. The lady that answered the phone ask me if I'm a first responder or law enforcement. I answered I'm a first responder then ask me if I have an EMT Card not EMT-P, told them I'm a FLIGHT NURSE working at Victorville. They told me they cant serve "nurse", I tried explaining to them what is a FLIGHT NURSE but they have are not willing to listen and just hang-up. I also told them to look it up the company I work for and what is a FLIGHT NURSE . How naive people can be if they just listen and look up my company I work for and the counth we serve. And yes FLIGHT NURSING is a specialty and WE ARE FIRST RESPONDERS. We land on freeways, dirt road, and sometimes places where ambulance can get too. And yes, we have the highest pre-hospital level of care in California. We can transfuse blood on scene, advance airway management pre hospital, chest tube insertion, escharotomy, and many more. If you are reading this, search the difference between FLIGHT NURSE VS EMT. And let me just repeat myself, FLIGHT NURSE ARE FIRST RESPONDERS AND PART OF EMS!!!!! And yes PROFORCE CAN REFUSE SERVICE TO A FLIGHT NURSE, that is their right, BUT DONT SAY THAT THEY ONLY SELL TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRST RESPONDERS. THEY SHOULD SAY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND EMT. Please dont compare flight nurse profession to police dispatcher they are 2 different profession. You are insulting both professions. Its like comparing EMT's to Flight nurse/Flight crew. Thank you. And just to clarify I just called because your store was on the glock blue label program which I did qualify, thats why i was inquiring. And please dont give comparison on two different profession. As a whole I'm really not satisfied and kinda ashamed this is one if few LEO/GSSF dealers is SoCal. My initial experience at the shop it self was good professional nothing bad nothing amazing either. (Non LEO/MIL) I go to pick up a Glock 23 via GSSF. They say they don't have any in stock but should in 2 to 4 weeks. Ok cool I'll pay in full now and call every so often. No sir well call you. Ok perfect. Well it's been 5 1/2 months and counting. I've called several times with the same answer "nope not in stock sorry Glocks problem not ours" I personally emailed Glock with a response that they do not sell to shops personally only through their supplier who then gets it to the shop but they are in normal production. I have owned and worked with vendors and know you can request a product and usually have it in stock if in huge demand and can have something done to fix the issue. For being a LEO/Mil duty weapon seller this is not up to par IMO. I'm just glad this is for personal use and not a duty weapon for my self or I would be livid to say the least. A few weeks sure. But 5 1/2 months guys to get a Gen3 in stock come on that's is just sorry. Especially for being a LEO service. I would give a 1 or 0 star if I could but give it a 2 only because the service wasn't terrible. And as other reviews I waited a good 2 hours to get to the front counter to make a payment with plenty of open workers just filling hangars and cases who could have easily sped up production time. If anyone else could match the GSSF price or accept GSSF card or come close I would have happily taken my business else where. What this place really needs is a sign in sheet for gun purchase, gun pick-up, and accessories purchase. Another option would be a sign in kiosk on an iPad. Occasionally yelling out "who's here to pick up" and not abiding by the ticket system just pisses people off. When I was there to pick up a pistol, one of the guys yelled that out, and the two people who stepped up to the counter before me had numbers reflecting they came after me. It took about 20 minutes per person, so you can see why I'd clearly be annoyed having already waited there longer than them. I understand why they went to the ticket system, but it doesn't help if you don't follow it. Maybe if you're going to call out if someone's there to pick up or buy accessories, look at their ticket numbers. read more

The arrogance of knowing you have cheap prices gives you no right to talk to people over the phone the way you do. I called a few times to price weapons to see if it's worth my hour drive and also to see availability for the drive. The phone conversations with their employees were beyond rude. At one point I was in the middle of saying thank you for your help when they just hang up on you making you feel stupid. Visiting Pro Force has been the best gun buying decision I ever made. You can reserve guns over the phone for 10 days and when you walk in you know the gun you want will be there. I am usually helped by Jesus who was always gone above and beyond to help get what I need. But I have spoken to or bought from all of the salesman and even the manager's who help out when it gets too busy. I have done business with this company as a member of law enforcement and a law enforcement union representative at my current patrol assignment. I have been a law enforcement patrol officer for approximately 21 years currently. My last visit to this establishment was completely embarrassing, humiliating, and down right demeaning. I was treated so poorly and so rudely by the representative who greeted me at the door. I left after a two hour drive and following the employee's advice the day prior. I arrived 30 minutes before the cut off time and I was turned away. The biggest problem is how this individual spoke to me, like I was some piece of crap. Absolutely deplorable. Came in wanting to know what all the low-price hype is about and I was stunned at the truth. I have been a faithful turners customer for a while since its really hard to find a good firearms dealer without the whole "GENERAL PUBLIC" scene of newbies taking up valuable time from people who know what they are there to buy and get out. However on my trip to proforce I noticed what others are complaining about (long wait, no wait room and pretty stuffy) but I actually saw all the employees helping people out so it contradicts this being a bad thing. It would be diffrent if there was alot of people and employees just chilling out. Waited about 20 mins for help, employee gave me great info on the 3 firearms i was considering which helped with the decision making. Finally I walked out having purchased a G 22c for about $150 less than all other places!!! Downside is I was unable to get any mags with it since the guy said they werw out of stock. Its time consuming buying a weapon due to all the forms that have to be filled out. A good idea might be to schedule appointments. It might speed up the process. I went in at 5 pm on a Wednesday to purchase my gun with no wait. When I picked up the gun ten days later on a Saturday the wait was about twenty minutes. There isn't a plethora of parking, so if they were busy I would assume parking may be tough. Pro force was the only place with the Springfield XDS in stock... Law enforcement only - they ask that you show I.D. upon entrance. (Non-law enforcement individuals may enter if accompanied by someone with an I.D. - that's how I got in). I would recommend not coming during lunch hours if you are not willing to wait a while to be helped. Half of the employees also take their lunch breaks during that time and it will take a while for the staff to get to you (especially if others are filling out the requisite paperwork to purchase a firearm). Also, the staff gets bogged down during this time because they have to take phone calls while they're trying to help you out. read more
