The showers were remodeled…read moreover 20 years ago and have not been professionally cleaned for the entire time - of course they were cleaned in that time, but my poor cleaning led to build-up of layers of bar soap which stuck to the shower tiles and made them look worse and worse. The owner, Elvin, took the time to explain proper care and cleaning for tile and showed me how much of the wax- based bar soap had built up on the tiles which I clearly was unaware of over the years - I knew I needed a professional cleaning and resealing of my tile. I scheduled one shower for a thorough cleaning, resealing, and some recaulking. Upon completion of the first shower, I scheduled my second shower for a full cleaning, resealing, regrouting, and recaulking as it looked plain terrible. Elvin arrived timely each day and worked diligently to complete both jobs within the timeframes stated, and with minimal disruption being unable to use the shower until the job was completed and the tiles completed dried from resealing. Elvin also cleaned his work area at the end of each day, something we appreciate. Also, his wife Dina was responsive to all my texts for scheduling and for any questions I had - both Dina and Elvin were friendly and professional in all my interactions. Both showers looked much better and I regret I did not contact The Grout Doctor sooner. With Elvin's advice, I plan on maintaining my shower tiles properly moving forward and having him back as needed for any maintenance / professional cleaning and resealing as needed.

He gave me a reasonable price with no pressure. The job involved removing the old tub/shower, replacing the plumbing, building a bench, wet-mopping, adding cement-backing, installing porcelain tile, replacing the flooring, adding drywall (including re-stucco-ing, and repainting). Each team - demolition, plumber, framing, wet-mop, tiler, dry-wall/painter - was professional, competent, hardworking, and clean-minded. Keep in mind that this is not a one day job --- mine took 1 1/2 weeks. Joe was always responsive to my calls and kept the job moving. Also, his quote does not include the glass enclosure. Joe sent me a good glass enclosure contractor and he added an additional week - 1 day for estimate, 5 days to cut/temper the glass, and one day to install. I enjoyed watching them work. To get the job done right, there is a lot of expertise involved. My wife was so grateful that she always provided snacks and water for the crews.

My experience with Joe, the manager who handled most of the communication, was terrible. In my opinion, he did not have enough hands-on construction knowledge to properly manage a remodel. He seemed to rely almost entirely on what his employees or subcontractors told him, even when they were wrong. When I pointed out mistakes, he often pushed back, blamed me, or tried to make me pay to fix issues caused by his own crew. A few examples: -We specified grout colors, and they used them on the wrong tiles and areas. -The wrong sinks were ordered. -The wrong faucets were ordered. -The wrong tiles were ordered. -The wrong counter top was delivered. -Kitchen cabinets were faulty and installed improperly. -They promised one type of flooring, then delivered something completely different, including a different color, and installed it incorrectly. -They tried to conceal faulty piping inside my walls. Had I not walked in unexpectedly, I would never have seen it. -They poured a foundation for a small extension without making it deep enough or installing a moisture barrier. We now have tiles showing signs of moisture damage. -They did not repaint several rooms. They cleaned the walls and then claimed the rooms had been painted. -The electrician made serious mistakes, including issues that almost caused a fire in my house. The overall pattern was simple: -They made mistakes. -I had to catch the mistakes. -Joe often tried to shift blame. -They tried to charge me to fix problems they caused. I also felt like Joe tried to take advantage of me financially. He handwrote the quote and invoice, and I trusted that the items we discussed would be handled as agreed. Later, he tried to back away from what had been discussed and claimed certain items were not included. Only after I involved the owner did Joe back down and admit he had made a mistake. There were also major management and communication problems: -Joe is not the contractor who owns the business. -From what I saw, there was no professional contractor consistently supervising the crew. -Joe would come by occasionally, look around, speak with the crew, and leave. -The crew often seemed confused about what needed to be done. -Communication between Joe and the crew appeared poor, which caused constant errors. The crew was also a revolving door. Different people came on different days. One person would start the flooring, and others would come later to finish it. The same thing happened with tile, plumbing, electrical work, and other parts of the project. Each time someone new showed up, they seemed to have little or no idea what had been agreed to. Joe also asked personal questions that made us uncomfortable, including: -Where are you from? -What do you do? -Can I see your cars? -"Wow, you went to that restaurant? It's very expensive." -"This was an expensive house. You must be very rich." That felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. Overall, this was a nightmare experience. Never again. The only reason I am giving two stars is that they finished quickly, and by the end, I was simply relieved to have them gone.

Our carpet was in bad shape as we had not done a professional cleaning since we got it 3.5 years ago and stairs have some pretty soiled areas. We gave him our own product to use because we wanted something super natural/non-toxic for our little one. Even using a different product that was a bit ineffective since it didn't have a Ph, our stairs still came out looking GOOD AS NEW from his water extraction. Gustavo was on time. What he quoted over the phone was exactly what I paid. I even decided to add more services because of that. He did a thorough and excellent job. He also didn't try to pull a fast one where they tell you that you have to do a deep cleaning and show you how dirty your carpet is, which ends up doubling the price. I bought a new to me house recently and my real estate agent recommended me to Pro green. I am so happy with their work! The owner Gustavo is professional, respectful and very quick with communication. The showed up on time, pointed out certain areas that had spots that needed extra attention, told me they could included it the price because the spots weren't too bad and went to work. So did a quick search on Yelp, asked for some quotes, and Mario quickly responded to the request. His pricing was very competitive. They have a job minimum of $180, so we asked them to also clean our sectional couch, which was in dire need of freshening up. We were able to schedule for the following day. He took a look at the stains, confirmed the quote and went right to work. He showed me the special cleaner used specifically for coffee stains. Afterwards, he pointed out the now barely noticeable stains and said that it would continue working over the next few days until it was pretty much gone. And true to word, can't even find where the stains were. Miracle worker. Sofa turned out great as well. Definitely brighter and overall nice to know it had a deep clean after the many years of whatever the kids put on it. He's worth it. At least get the quote and go from there!
