I am a very experienced rider. I race and teach others to ride. My gf and her 20 year old son went to Pro Italia to look for a first bike for him. I have been dealing with Pro Italia for years. However, the new sales guy Robbes has no consideration for a riders skill level and only on how much he will make off the sale. He was trying to put a beginner rider on a liter bike. This is blatant disregard for your customer's well being. ANYONE who knows motorcycling would never advise a first time rider to be on a 1000cc+ bike for their first time. Very disappointed that Bill would hire a person like this at Pro Italia. Normally, we will only ever deal with Art because he actually cares about his customers and treats them as friends in the community, not a paycheck, but he was tied up with a sale, so they gave Robbes a chance. If you go to Pro Italia, don't deal with Robbes, go see Art. If he is busy then come back when he is not. I'm sure he will be happy to give you a call as soon as he is available. read more

Buying any big ticket item can cause a bit of 'buyers remorse', but not this time. I wish I had the ability to express fully the gratitude I have for the folks at Pro Italia, especially for the extra after purchase support on my used KTM acquisition. The story goes: A couple hours away from my home in the Santa Barbara area I found a 'new' used 2020 KTM 390 Adventure bike being sold by Pro Italia Motorcycles in Glendale. It had just over 200 miles on it and was being sold in pristine condition for a really good price. I drove down in a borrowed truck, with borrowed straps and ramp, and dropped the cash. I was handed an envelope with docs and a key while being told to pull truck around to the rear and they'd load the bike up. Pulling to the rear alley, they asked me for the key so they could swing the bike in. It was at this moment when it became clear that there was only a single key, but that the second key was being looked for. I handed over the key, they loaded the bike, they used only 2 of 5 straps and since the tailgate wouldn't close (tire in the way), I moved the ramp and extra straps into the cab. They alleviated my concern about the stability of the bike for the long drive home and sent me on my way. Non-stop to my front door where I met friends/family waiting to see the bike. No key. Pro Italia found that to replace the KTM key meant an entire rekey of all locks (ignition, fuel, seat, etc) which were back ordered. They ordered directly from India. Once the locks were in, they picked up the bike, replaced all the locks, and brought the bike back to me -- all on them. Even though I had to wait some time to finally get to ride, the overall experience working with Pro Italia left me with nothing but a positive feeling (and a story to share). I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bike model that is sold by Pro Italia to seriously consider purchasing their bike there, even if it means spending extra time to do so. read more

I visited Pro Italia during a year-end vacation to Southern California with my family mid-December 2019. We arrived near closing time around 4 pm. We want to see both the brand new Ducati Panigale V4 916 25 Anniversario and the pre-owned Ducati Monster 25 Anniversario that Pro Italia has in stock. Within a few seconds after entering the store, we were greeted with a warm welcome by Bill (Nation), the owner/principal of the store. He was very friendly and answered all our questions patiently. He even offers to lower the seat on the Monster so that I can see the difference in seating position. Background story: I had a friend who purchased a 1994 Ducati 916 brand new from Pro Italia back in 1994. So in 1995, I also bought a 1995 Ducati 916 from Ducati dealer East of LA (Pro Italia don't have it in stock at that time). (by the way, I purchase it just with a DMV learner permit :) ) Up to the moment I entered Pro Italia shop, I was undecided whether I want to purchase a bike since I don't plan to ride one anymore. If I buy, it will be only for display in my living room, which means it will be a costly static display. However, once Bill turns the ignition on the Panigale V4 916 25 Anniversario to show us the front and rear LED lighting, I immediately remember the word on some Ducati 916 T-shirt 25 years ago, where the t-shirt says "Ducati 916, Gotta Have One"! Unfortunately, I am not ready to buy that day because I still need to get my new motorcycle license, and this time I want to get a full motorcycle license, not just permit. I told Bill, I will contact him again once I get my motorcycle license. I contacted Bill again in early January right after I get my motorcycle license and hoping Bill will get a new shipment with the Serial Number (upper triple clamp) that I like. However, turn out the incoming bike from Pro Italia also come with a serial number that was not on my preferred number list. Plus, I was lucky enough to find one bike with a serial number #210 that I like from another dealer. Upon hearing this, Bill was not shutting down communication as other dealers did. Instead, Bill was gracious and willing to better that deal if I decided to purchase the one Bill has in stock. In the end, I decided I want to buy a bike with a serial number that I prefer because this is not just some regular model, but a limited edition bike, plus this is a sentimental purchase since I used to own the original 916. So I want it to be "special in every way possible." Having said that, I want to post this review on Yelp as an appreciation for the excellent service that I received from Bill Nation at Pro Italia. If I am looking to purchase another Ducati, Bill and Pro Italia will be one of the very few dealerships that I will buy from. Also, I did purchase two items from Pro Italia through their Amazon store (a Ducati boot and Ducati key chain), and they ship them to me very fast, and I received those items in 2 days only!!! Pro Italia Service Department Bike: 2017 Ducati Desert Sled Service / Warranty Work Point of contact: Michael My rear brake was out and I had some surging in my power band. My original dealer (Westlake) has closed so I called Pro Italia service dept. I asked them if they could take a look at it and could I have AAA drop it off for me as my time is very limited, they said no problem and they'd call me when it arrives. 6 hours later and I hadn't heard from the dealer. I call to confirm my bike made it safely. I'm told it has. We discuss the issues I'm having with the bike, they then casually mention how they'll look at it in 1.5 weeks. Wishing that had been mentioned before I had it delivered, but agree. I call in 1.5 weeks. They haven't looked at the bike. We discuss the surging issue. It's suggested I'll need a power commander due to the fact I have an aftermarket exhaust. I agree that makes sense. Ask to be notified when the rear brake is fixed. A week later, we are 2.5 weeks out now, I call to get an update. They haven't looked at the bike because I need to sign a work order for them to do so. I ask why this hasn't been brought to my attention on the last 2 phone calls. They reply they have no way of contacting me. I ask if they have my phone number. They say yes. I express my frustration and confusion as to the situation. Then the excuses begin. "I'm understaffed." "We're really busy." "I'm doing the work of 2 people." I reply I don't want to hear any of it and it's not my problem. I should have A) Been made aware of the back-up. B) Been made aware of a service order. Either during the drop off process or on the follow up 1.5 week phone call. Michaels response? "No ones forcing you to bring your bike here." I'm floored at this point. I assure him I never will again. I give him my email to send the work order. They magically complete the bike 4 hours later. I picked the bike up. It's clearly been left in the drizzle rain we've had, it's filthy, and the battery is struggling a bit. Total service time - 3 weeks Cost - Zero (as it fell under warranty) I've owned 31 motorcycles over the last 20 years. I've dealt with shady shops, incompetent shops, rude shops, unprofessional shops. This place takes the cake. Motorcycles are a luxury item. It does a disservice to the entire culture, that we as riders want to thrive, when we're treated with such disregard, hassle, and disrespect. I had my Aprilia Dorsoduro trailered from Arizona to be serviced at Pro Italia on 1/22/2021. An appointment was set over the phone with a request to diagnose any coolant leaks. Upon arrival the possible coolant leak areas were gone over, again in meticulous detail, with the handling Manager. However, a fuel leak was spotted and the request was written up as a fuel leak and nothing else. It was only after 11 days I had to call them and find that only the fuel leak was nominally repaired. A second service request iteration had to be created to diagnose the original problem the Motorcycle was brought in for. Continuing, the Motorcycle was dropped off with a professionally done plastic ID card with the printed password to the ECU, very nicely attached to the key with a keyring and inserted to a plastic protector pouch and explained as such. Most shops ask for this beforehand, like the old Del Amo where it was purchased. It was explained that the Motorcycle was driven with the card attached to the key, and lost! Without this code, the bike is not fully operational as any Aprilia owner knows. Any malfunction or voltage loss will leave the driver stranded as the Motorcycle dash/ECU asks for the code upon restart and cannot be started without it. Making matters worse, the service records indicate the Motorcycle was taken on a 212 mile joyride, picture attached of the (amended to include coolant leak) service record. Asking to talk to the General Manager several times and confirming that I was to be called back to address a Motorcycle delivered not fully operational and joyridden, I received no call back. Took the 2003 immaculate (collectable) RS250 Aprilia to Pro Italia for a simple inspection. The folks there were nice enough and the inspection was kinda ok. There were only a couple of small deceptions that I wont bother about because they didn't Upset me as much as the Scratch in the side panel through the decal and buggered the plastic...!! I couldn't believe it!! And when brought to their attention they said it was there and not their fault. Total BS... Total inconsideration and LACK of customer base service. OK, there's one word that sums up why you MUST visit here regarding ANYTHING Ducati or Italian motorcycles... "TOAST." As in Toast, the Parts and Accessories Manager. All the other reviews mention how laid back and no-pressure Pro Italia is; however, it's Toast that puts this place into the realm of the elite. How did this come to pass? Well, we purchased a Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 from Del Amo Motorsports a few months back. The experience was quite positive, but they represent quite a few different brands at Del Amo, so their selection of accessories is a bit on the lean side. That's not meant as a criticism, by the way, it's just that they have a lot of brands to represent and just so much room to house the extra goodies. We wanted some of the cool Ducati-branded stuff and someone on a Ducati Scrambler forum mentioned Pro Italia. We found them on Yelp and sent a message asking if they might carry a lowered seat for Alicia's bike. This was on a Sunday night, mind you, and we actually got a response within 15 minutes. ON A SUNDAY NIGHT! We were told by a gentleman named William N. to expect a call from "Toast" the next morning and, crazy enough, that phone call actually happened. Toast (or, Toastacia, as is her actual name) was quite enthusiastic that Alicia owned a Scrambler and was equally excited to help solve her height challenges via having the seat shaved down and exploring other options to get her feet flat when at idle. Her bubbly disposition was so infectious that we actually drove all the way from Inglewood to Glendale during a heat wave to visit and meet this Toast person. Once at Pro Italia, everyone greeted us with a friendly, but gentle welcome and the voice on the phone that was Toast finally emerged. She had actually brought her own seat to work to let Alicia sit on it and spent oodles of time discussing everything Ducati with her for at least two hours. Between Toast and the rest of the staff at Pro Italia, there's probably not a single question they can't answer. And, to hammer home a point that recurs in all of their reviews, THEY WILL NEVER PRESSURE YOU TO BUY ANYTHING. It's all about the confidence in their products, knowledge, and approach that sells bikes and parts here. We ended up getting everything we needed (saddle bags, new clutch lever, and windscreen) and left completely satisfied. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and Ian decided to buy his own Scrambler and call Toast immediately to get it properly accessorized. Why not a 5+ star for this place? I got my DUC here!!! Great service (sales, parts, service)...even the co-order was there to greet and shoot the s..t with us! They can offer you nice deals...but mind you...it is still a Ducati, MV, Aprilia shop (so the prices might still be high). I will always be a true fan of this shop. They're awesome. They set up rides from time to time, they have MOTOGP race Sundays. But they are however limited to the name brand clothing and protective gear. No pressure in buying a bike here....walk in..and if you're not happy..just walk out. However...they will take care of you if you want a new bike. I'll never go back to Japanese bikes. There is one bike I want, a Moto Guzzi Carbon Dark, and they have one. It is $1000 over what all the others in CA were priced at, and is a new, 2018 model, that I assume they have had for some time. I do not get the two fees that they charge, destination and set up, that total about $1000. I understand other dealerships charge something similar, but on a 2 year old bike, model year 2020 is out, I figured they would work with me a bit. They also looked up and agreed that this bike would be available with the 0% financing, but in the end, turned out this bike was already registered at one time, by someone, and thus, would not qualify for the 0% financing. I feel the price was about $1500 over what I would actually pay, and was kinda bummed leaving without my first bike ever. I am still looking........ On 10-4, I did get the bike I wanted at the price I wanted down in San Diego. It was ordered from the TX Moto Guzzi Warehouse, and will be brand new with warranty and with the 0% financing. read more

They didn't pressure me at all and answer earnestly to pretty much all the questions I have. The process of demo the bikes I wanted and to do appraise of my bike all went very smoothly. Minor niggles are the showroom is small, the bikes are so close to each other your can barely stand them up and worry about hitting the next bike. I bought a really nice Triumph Street Cup about 5 Months ago. To this day I'm still waiting for the extra key that came with the bike (was supposed to be included when bike was delivered). It turns out that the driver Michael took the liberty to keep the key holder and key at the shop - per his own statement. He went WAY out of his way to make sure I got the best deal on a bike. Even so far as to remain in contact beyond business hours or on a day the office was closed. I was a bit annoying at times but he kept his cool and kept his goal focused on making sure I WAS HAPPY. He never made it about the money. I expect to have my time wasted buying something from a private party but to get lied to by a Ducati dealer about a used bike is preposterous. I called in about a 996 with a price too good to be true so I asked about leaks and crash damage. The response was that it was not leaking and was not crashed. When I showed up to inspect the bike I noticed that the bike went down on the left side as is evident from bent in shifter, road rash on pegs, grip end, mirror. It's reassuring to talk to someone that knowledgeable about motorcycles and gear -- again so much respect and genuine care. Customer service is excellent. They actually call you back and make you feel valued. I've had my bike in the shop for 1 issue for months while they fixed numerous issues in half the time as other places. They know what they're doing and they don't waste time getting it done. Buy your bike here, buy your gear here... do it right. No sleazy salesmanship or pushiness being treated like a dollar sign, chewed up and spat out. Instead, just actually getting your time and money's worth. I bought a brand new bike and wanted them to do my first service as I live close to them and thought they would be more friendly, honest, and do better work than where I purchased. Greatest experience I've had buying a vehicle at a dealership. Straight shooters, no scummy tactics, just business to get in and out. Prices were fair as well. The finance deals they got us were amazing. My favorite part was when the salesmen just blew past the typical upcharge part: "Look, you need any warranties or services? The guys at Pro Italia are great. I hope to buy every bike from them from now on! Its not a car dealership vibe at all. Everyone is a straight shooter and they deliver as promised. I just got my RS 660 from them and Aprilia was late due to COVID and well, Aprilia. Kevin was constantly updating me. When an incentive program came up for those that pre-ordered, he called me and got me signed. He didnt need to do this, he already had the sale and my deposit but they are just that kind of shop. When it came down to the purchase date, everything was exactly as promised. No surprises. They bought my old bike from me for a fair price and more importantly with zero hassles or issues. Even the other dealers in town have a ton of respect for these guys because they are so stand up. If they have your bike, go get it there. You wont regret it. I would honestly pay a bit more to have their level of service and customer care but luckily their prices are even really great so you wont have to. A definite 5 star experience. Brought my 7 year old Triumph here for a bunch of things (brakes, coolant, spark plugs) and my bike felt brand new when I rode home. They did an awesome job (and cleaned my gross chain lol) that was super quick for all the work. The staff are SUPER nice and not condescending (I've dealt with that at other places bc I'm a woman).
