Our year old corgi has benefitted so much from both in home training and socialization classes. She is working through anxiety around other dogs, but she's getting so much better! Pro k-9 has been nothing short of an amazing experience! We had issues with our dogs running out doors and "escaping" up until we met Tina. I spent money on this training group for my dog, and nothing changed with him. I did private sessions, went to the so called group classes. My pup is still scared of everything, even a branch touching him when he does not expect it. I still can not walk him around children, or strangers. If you dog just has obedience issue they may be fine but real behavioral issues don't waste you time and money. read more

When I adopted my dog I had no idea how hard of a time he would have adjusting to a new home. Jen, owner of Pro K9, came on the standard 6 home visits and was really awesome with my dog. He responded very well to her. The socializing classes helped him too, though I wish there were a little more interaction between the dogs. However, since she handles a lot of dogs with aggression problems, I can understand why having the dogs stop and meet each other isn't a great idea. read more

We have two Yorkies, Casey and Izzie, that were 6 months old when they started their training program with Pro K-9. We have a lab mix that started displaying signs of aggression and we knew we needed help. We signed up for the Dog Training for Life program and a trainer met with us in our home for several weeks. We then started attending the group training sessions weekly. The in-home training was excellent. Jen was very calm and knowledgeable and helped us tremondously. She showed us how to obedience train our dog (without treats or a clicker) and how to properly correct disobedience. The group training sessions are very well organized. While it is great for practicing obedience, it is an even better environment for behavior training. Pro K-9 also offers a lot of additional training and programs that we plan to take advantage of. My dog, Rambo, had basically flunked out of training at another obedience school, which had insisted that I use a pronged collar on him. He had ended up with puncture wounds from it and had to be on antibiotics for that. Another company I interviewed used shock collars and I just didn't want to go that route. After these experiences I was a bit leary, but was having a tough time even walking Rambo. Jen Guthrie impressed me with her in-home training program, and the follow-up afterward. I'm looking forward to bringing Rambo to socialization groups. Jen was even able to train him to use the treadmill! That really helps him and me.
