Also, the cold water stopped working in my shower, making the shower unusable. I lost my husband this year and am never sure about what to do when things go wrong in the house, since I never had to address those problems in the past. I called 1-Tom and they made me feel completely confident about my choice. Right from the start, I liked the fact that they answered the phone and I didn't have to keep pushing buttons to get to the right person. I was told that they stood behind all their work and they would make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. Before Alex came to my home, I received a photo of him. He was confident and friendly and I immediately felt I was in good hands. Originally it looked like it was going to be a bad situation with the toilet and that the floor might have to be torn up. Alex showed me what the problem was and I could now see why the toilet couldn't be installed correctly in the first place. Alex called his boss and discussed what needed to be done. The company was really great, they sent me a bio and photo of the person who would be coming (which I appreciated for safety and professionalism), and the man who came was super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He also had some great suggestions and input on the project and location in the house, in terms of what's best to save money and simplify all the moving parts--which I really appreciated. They did a camera inspection of the sewer line which turned out was partially blocked so then they quickly ran a snake through a couple of tomes and then did a second inspection after the line was cleared. My only complaint was they were not very forthcoming about telling me the additional cost to snake the sewer line which ended up being double what I had originally planned for the camera inspection. To be fair I should've asked but still if you're expecting something to be $395 and then you get an invoice for $885 that's not cool - see attached In case you need to do some price comparison's

They quoted 30% lower than Rudco, BUT they didn't address my 1950s galvanized water main line to house. Rudco's quote covered the full job - doing it right. Steve at Rudco said he would not do it any other way than the right way, as if it was his own house. Steve said there was risk that a valve-only job could fail. So I went with Rudco. They did a great job, and didn't even need to dig up the grass or disturb anything - using a mechanical extruder to replace the line. So, I have a new line from the city service right through to the interior of my house. Rudco impressed me and gave me peace of mind.
