I couldn't wait to write a review about Pro Physical Therapy! I broke my clavicle in February and 4 weeks after my surgery my doctor recommended PT. My doctor's office didn't have many PT places on their lists and the ones they had were booked weeks in advance. I decided to google and find a place with excellent reviews and that's how I found this amazing place! When I called I got appointments right away and my insurance covered my PT. PRO PT is a great PT facility. I have been rehabbing a rotator cuff surgery for the past four months with them. Katie is a great PT and manages my progress very well. There are a team of assistants to work with you on their floor that has all of the necessary equipment. The team is very good at correcting your form and making sure you don't overdo or underdo the exercise protocol. Came here with a 90% healed hip strain that had all but gone away after 3 days, just to make sure my hip was healed and strong enough to continue my ongoing knee pt and get some basic stretches. The PT at this office injured me severely, even worse than my initial injury. I told him multiple times the massages/exercises hurt extremely bad while doing them, and he just kept going. It has been over 5 weeks now and I am still not better. He tried to readjust my hip placement (which is extreme) when there was nothing wrong with my hip placement, and like I said, I came in with basically zero pain. Nightmare experience that has now continued on and it's all because I came here, I wish more than anything that I didn't. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I began my journey recovering from a full ACL reconstruction in January and have been working with Michael G. I just wrapped up my time at Pro PT a month ago, and I can't speak highly enough about his care and attention to my recovery. Michael worked in concert with my surgeon, and built my PT plan based on my progress and desire to heal and recover quickly. Several times i needed a response to a question on the weekend, and he was always fast to reply on email. This place is the best- came with an Rx for bilateral knee patellofemoral syndrome (lots of pain in both knees when standing, walking, etc- also "runners knee") and Michael did an extensive exam and set me on a program to strengthen and stretch the parts of my legs that were causing the pain. I have been going for several weeks now and my pain is relieved and almost gone! Don and his practice came recommended to me by a friend after a few bad experiences with other physical therapists. I'd had back surgery/ disc replacement and needed a guided treatment plan to help strengthen my core and look at specific pain areas. Don (and the other therapists) know their stuff and what is fantastic about them is they treat YOU specifically - other places put everyone on the same plan which does not work. The location is convenient, there is street parking close by, they accept insurance, they are flexible with appointments, the staff are all extremely nice and it's clean! I have been experiencing intense shoulder pains for a few years now. Thanks to a dedicated team at Pro PT - the pain has substantially subsided and I am no longer as physically limited in my everyday activities, as I was before. I couldn't recommend ProPT more! I came in with two separate injuries - one for my shoulder and the other was for my ankle that I had hurt 14 years prior and re-injured in the last year. I began working with Don on my shoulder first and then on my ankle so I was coming in for PT twice a week and doing the work at home as well. Don was incredibly attentive to my injuries and was focused on making sure I was able to properly recover, starting with basic mobility and moving up to balance and strength. The entire team was helpful as I needed guidance and form correction throughout my sessions and everyone was super nice. It helped a lot to make appointments in advance to I could set my sessions at a time that worked best for my work schedule. I can happily say I don't have pain in my ankle or shoulder anymore! Office manage and front desk, Gerry, is rude. The assistants who are supposed to do exercises with clients are not professional- literally don't know what the exercises are. I went to this practice for a couple of weeks and my pain was out of control and got severely worse because of their lack of attention to my posture and were making me do exercises that were worsening my spine issues. This practice is a insurance hub, they just wanna get you in and out as fast as they can. If you really want to recover from your injuries stay away from this practice. Avoid at all costs. Pay a little more and go somewhere that will help you meet your physical therapy goals. read more

I've come here for 2 rounds of PT on my knees - 1st round pre-pandemic on my left knee, and 2nd round in 2022 for my right knee. Most recently, I'm working with Heather who is fantastic. In the past 4 weeks, we've strengthened my knee a lot and reduced the pain significantly. I can't wait for the results after the full 6 weeks given the great results I'm seeing now. I had an extremely negative experience with their office staff and Don himself. In scheduling my initial consultation Gerri who works in the office was on top of it and scheduled me right away although there was a lot of attitude back and forth from her over email about my insurance. When trying to schedule my appointments on my 6 week prescription, she took 2 weeks to ever respond to my phone calls and emails and even though I was supposed to get 8 appointments, she took too long and I could only schedule 6. For context, I'm 25 years old with 7 herniated discs, 7 desiccated discs, a labral tear in my hip and shoulder impingement so it's safe to say that PT is necessary for me. After my prescription ran out and was renewed, I never heard back from the office even though I called and emailed several times. I finally heard back from Don after a month of no sessions, and he wasn't even my therapist but he was able to schedule me. My insurance had also updated and half of my previous visits were billed incorrectly so I continued to reach out to Gerri about it and was ignored for almost 2 months before I emailed Don directly (I assume he's the owner). Instead of him working with me, he forwarded my email to Gerri who responded with bold face lies saying that she had already spoken to me and told me that I needed to work through this with my insurance company directly. At that point I emailed Don again expressing my frustration and canceling my remaining appointments. He conveniently never received this email, this seems to be a pattern for their entire team. He then called me the next day and essentially told me it was best that I go to a different PT office and that they'll be in touch with me when my refund is ready. Gerardo was a great physical therapist who was really helping me in my recovery. It's a shame that the rest of their staff couldn't care less about their patients. I made sure to share my experience with my surgical team so hopefully they don't keep referring patients to this place. read more

I was unlucky enough to get a badly broken tib/fib leg with knee complications during a game of soccer back in Jan. Tibial plateau injuries are nasty. I am a competitive cyclist and generally very active so it is really important to me to get back to a good level. I have had an amazing experience at Pro Physio. I was recommended them by my surgeon and have only had great experiences since. Brian has been my main physio with the ofd session from Don and Heather. Everybody is so knowledgeable and basically bloody good. I am well on the way to a full recovery and am very happy. They use a wide range of techniques usually splitting my session into two parts. First manipulation, deep scar removal or stretching. Followed by strengthening and balance (depending on how far into the process you are). The atmosphere is great, all the assistants are knowledgeable and great. 5 stars. read more

I love the staff and the P/T's are all good. It's clean but, it's crowded . We are all in a small space in the gym , at least in the AM !! The front desk and reception are extremely organized, especially when it comes to scheduling appointments. I'm a tough customer for a physical therapist. I am a personal trainer by trade who has worked with some of the best fitness and athletic minds in NY and LA. I've also had 5 orthopedic surgeries (3 knees, shoulder, wrist). When my doctor prescribed physical therapy for my 4 herniated lumbar discs, I was afraid I was heading for my 6th surgery. I was referred to Don Nelson by a personal trainer colleague. I told Don I wasn't willing to give up my Crossfit training and Olympic lifting and the baseball I play on weekends. Don told me I'd be able to do all these things again without surgery. He gave me homework - a list of exercises and stretches to do each day. Since I have a background in sports training, our sessions were very interactive. Don did research and reached out to the one of the world's top back doctors and provided me with articles to read pertaining to my condition. After 6 weeks, I was back to my Crossfit workouts. By 10 weeks, I equalled my personal best in the snatch (165 lbs.) twice. The amazing thing is that I did this without the aid of weight belt to support my lower back. (Don pointed me toward the research of Dr. Stuart McGill who cites evidence that shows training with a weight belt to be detrimental, long term). I am 39 years old. I, for one, am amazed I am able to engage in Olympic lifting and Crossfit after my diagnosis and without surgery. I am very grateful to Don and HIGHLY recommend PRO Physical Therapy to anyone in need of rehab for an injury. read more

While I think Heather is an excellent physical therapist, this establishment itself is the negative part. The booking of appointments is ridiculous, and they drop the ball. I received a prescription from my doctor for 2-3 sessions per week, on a 12 week prescription for post shoulder surgery recovery. It's critical to get this PT. They are busy and booked, which is ok, but they made no effort to make sure I had appointments booked to create a continuous schedule for my therapy. It's so sporadic that it's detrimental to my recovery. The person at the desk who books the appointments doesn't care at all. He doesn't take the initiative to ask if you need to book more appointments. Then there is a gap in treatment, and the prescription is only for 12 weeks no matter how many treatments you have, apparently. This isn't very organized and it's not good for the patient. Haphazard appointments here and there aren't the way to recover from this surgery. All this guy had to say was, "Do you want to cancel these appointments?" referring to the 2 appointments I was able to get within a 3 week period. So basically, at this point, I only have 3 appointments for the whole month of August. I'm sure this isn't how my PT is supposed to go. He didn't offer any solutions, such as suggesting that perhaps I could see another therapist while Heather was on vacation. I don't know who runs this place, but it's not very organized or professional. Again, Heather is wonderful and this doesn't reflect on her at all. She's amazing. At this point, I'm trying to figure out what to do to get my therapy, since I'm unable to get continuous treatment at this one place. read more
