He then told me with an I-don't-really-care tone that he was going to leave the office for the day and was going to get off the phone. That's when I actually hung up because I was so frustrated. What type of business owner doesn't solve the problem or offer a solution before getting off the phone, leaving their customer totally wondering what to do? When I was in again right after my purchase in November a person came in to complain about his hot tub cover destruction after a short time of owning it and I noticed that Scott was pretty rude to him. I remember getting in my car and telling my daughter "I wonder if that's how he treats his customers "after" the sale". Well sure enough it is! Just know if you shop here you will get zero customer service after. Terrible for repeat or referral business. (FYI - We have a 1926 bungalow with 2 old coal burning fireplaces, which we're converting to functional gas fireplaces.) We just ordered our fireplace and, so far, the experience with IHT has been very positive. Both Traci and Johnny are super friendly and know their stuff. Johnny, in particular, has been very patient as we decided between two fireplaces, each with their own pros and cons. Prices are competitive and we've already been treated far better at IHT and wish we'd chosen them for our first insert! Two months later they stopped working again and when I called, I was told they don't guarantee any of their work and I would need to pay an additional $150 for them to come back out. Mind you, when they come back it can break again and I would just have to keep paying them to return. Absurd. The person I spoke to told me most people don't fix their lights at all bc it's so expensive. What kind of absolute fuckery is this? Do not buy from them.
