Many years ago I had ProTech Appliance Repair do a job for me. Which I was extremely satisfied with. So it made perfect sense for me to call them to have my ice maker serviced as well as my dryer cleaned out. The technician who came out was John. He was on time, followed Covid safety guidelines. He was very professional. My ice maker is now working like new. I can sleep better at night knowing my dryer is no longer a fire hazard. The pricing was more then reasonable. There's a saying "when it rains it pours" and that's the kind of luck I have. The night before a back yard celebration at my home not only did my freezer packed with 80 bags of ice give out my dryer filled with a lot more laundry than it should have been stopped drying all the clothes I was trying to get put away before my company the next day. Of course this was after normal business hours. I called Protech Appliace Repair. I left a voicemail explaining my dilemma and 5 minutes later I received a call back from them and 30 minutes later a guy name John was at my home. He fixed my deep freezer right away. He said he'd take a quick look at my dryer but given the time of night and the chance that it may need a non stocked part I may have to wait for the next day. Although my dryer did need a part not commonly stocked he had one on his truck. Excellent service, knowledgable service man. Better than fair prices. And my party the next day was a hit. I recently had a drainage issue with my washing machine so I called Pro Tech to come take a look. John came by the next day and was able to identify the issue and resolve it right away. About three weeks after his initial visit, we noticed the same issue start to creep back. John was nice enough to coach me through troubleshooting the issue on my own to save some time and another visit. After hours of back and forth, I wasn't able to fix it on my own so John came by first thing the next day and resolved the issue again. Amazing customer service! The owner is so sweet and generous. I'm a single mom for 3 kids and live on a tight budge. My refrigerator stopped working and all my food went bad and as a single mom that doesn't get help from my ex husband or the state. I would have to say.....when my grandmother's refrigerator broke down two weeks ago I thought I had a nightmare ahead of me. I was on Christmas vacation in Florida to boot!! However I contacted john at Pro Tech Appliance Repair from Florida to handle my grandmothers repair. He not only went out to the house the next day but he also allowed me to make payment for his services once I arrived back to Boston. Should have called Sears Appliance Repair... My washer/dryer unit was not functioning properly so I thought I would keep it "local" by calling these non profesionals at Pro Tech, what a mistake! This whole ordeal started on June 19 and ended yesterday July 13 with days of no call backs, dispatcher/repairman miscommunication and the part ordering blame game in between, then finally the repairman telling my wife rudely "call someone else". After looking into another service, we realized these clowns had mislead us. No pump needed to be replaced (as they had claimed) and they do this to mislead clients deliberately. A file has been made at the Better Business Bureau to warn consumers. This company is one big joke. read more

I am very satisfied with the services provided by Pro Tech. My GE refrigerator that is about 20 years old broke over the weekend. I called Pro Tech Monday morning at 8 am and they were able to schedule an appointment for the same day. John was the tech that came and was able to quickly diagnose the problem as a defrost issue. Within 1 hour, he had defrosted the freezer and put in a new part he had in his truck. This was all for a very reasonable price. My refrigerator / freezer is working perfectly again. I would definitely call them again but hopefully I won't have too! read more

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! As a small business we were desperate to find help when one of our refridgerators went down. We called John at Pro Tech and he came out, inspected our less than year old cooler and told us the compressor was gone. We ordered a new one and upon its arrival tried to get in contact with him for days with no response. He finally showed up and said it was actually a totally different problem. When we pressed him on this (suspecting we were getting scammed) he walked out, we called him and he hung up followed by texts. I have delayed writing this review because the two people involved were so nice and I don't want to cause them trouble. But after a lot of consideration, I think it's important that others know what happened. I called Pro-Tech Appliance Repair in South Boston for service on two appliances. The repairman showed up on time, with his fiancé who was very nice, and diagnosed the oven as needing a new element and the Bosch dishwasher as needing a new bottom gasket. The total price would be $300 parts and labor and they would call me when the parts came in. A few days later, I had an appointment for late Friday afternoon. The repairman did NOT show up and I wasted a day waiting even though he had agreed to the time. I did not receive a phone call though I left a message at the office number. Monday, I received an apologetic phone call from the manager, who said he would knock something off the price for my wasted day. Mollified, I made an appointment for Wednesday. Wednesday the repairman showed up and gave me a number of fairly lame health excuses for missing the appointment, excuses that kept changing. He fixed the oven and took apart the dishwasher door and pronounced it unfixable. His diagnosis of a bad gasket had been wrong. He charged $100 for his work - $50 off for the $80 or so unused part - no discount for a wasted day as I'd been promised. I ended paying $250 for an oven element fix and a destroyed dishwasher door. I had been able to use the dishwasher even though it leaked, but after the "repair" it was unusable and had to be replaced. I was over charged, received bad service and I am sorry I paid them. I will not use them again. Be warned. read more

This morning I ran my dryer and smoke started to come through it and set off my fire alarm within just a few minutes. I called Pro Tech and left a message explaining the issue and asking if they could come out today to service it. Less than a few hours later, a friendly man by the name of John showed up at my door. As he was servicing the dryer, he explained to me the risk of not cleaning dryer vents on a somewhat regular basis (~once/year) and that this alone has caused a crazy amount of house fires every year. He did a great job cleaning out the disgusting amount of lint that was stuck in my dryer vents and near the electrical wires (which caused the smoke, that would have turned into a fire had I not been home). He even took a look at my fridge while he was there after I mentioned it had been acting up (at no extra charge, I may add). We will definitely call John for all of our future appliance repairs, and highly recommend him to all others! read more

"John", at this company, was quick to service my washer/dryer combo at my condo in Boston. Beacon and Mass Ave. He was quick to charge me as well. I paid. I live in New Mexico. My appliance is a washer dryer ventless combo. Pro Tech didn't even bother to run a full cycle to make sure the problem was repaired correctly. They claimed there was a "piece of plastic" in the line and they "took it out" and they left. Cost me $175. The unit backed up and flooded the apartment below. I requested an invoice and the terms of their work warranty which John assured me that he stood behind. Well, no returned calls, after multiple calls, no invoice was forwarded and no sign of a warranty. Stay as far away from these idiots as possible. read more

He was on time, able to assess the situation, showed me the broken pieces and the list price on replacing them and then asked if i wanted them to be replaced and fixed it right then.
