Called a couple of mechanics around the area and as I suspected most are trying to rip me off just because of my dire situation.

But as "luck" would have it, and as I passed my old friends at WAR this morning, I noticed a flat tire. These things always happen when you're feeling out of luck, or when you least expect it. Today was one of those days, and this was about to put me over the edge. I popped into WAR, as it was just around the corner, hoping they would help me out- and what a warm welcome I was given by Will & Miguel. Not only did they remember me, but they fixed my car right up on short notice and I was able to go about my day. I couldn't ask for better service, these guys are truly kind! Truthfully, every interaction with them has always been a good one, but simply reminded of it today and wanted to share.

So I quickly swap to WAR Auto Tech and the receptionist, Miguel, was very nice. They checked my car and replace the regulator within a day, and didn't charge me for the motor. Eventually cost me half the price the previous store was asking. Although they did not do the window properly(didn't readjust it so it make noises in high speed), but they fixed the issue free of charge and done it quick. I would like to have them with me next time.

Hub Starters are liars and thieves. They up-charge for work they never do. They robbed me for…read morealmost $1,000. Before you think that Hub Starters might not likely be doing the same to you if they haven't already, taking advantage of honest, hard-working people who (they think) don't know anything about their car or engine, ask yourself this: must you always drop your car off to be serviced for an extended period of time? Do they give you a hard time about sitting and waiting for the work to be done? If so, when you pick it up, have them point out to you what work was done. Take pictures before, and take pictures after. Make sure that the work is actually being done. I am a full-time college student and a single female. I am new to the area. I have recently had to start my life over from scratch. I don't have family or friends here. I work for the City and moved here for work. A little over a year ago I found and bought my car. It is a 2004 Ford Taurus. It is my only asset. As much of the work that my car needs done that I am able or capable to do, I do it. My friend and I attempted to to do a tuneup. We did alright, but unfortunately we were only able to change the front three spark plugs and wires on the engine. We couldn't finish it and do the back three, because generally one must take the manifold off. (Alternatively, one might access it from underneath with the use of a lift kit. This I don't have.) Since moving here to Malden, I have had my car serviced at Hub Starters. I was referred by a coworker and someone whom I had thought was a friend. I needed the break pads replaced. While I was waiting for the break pads to be done, I spoke with the owner about some other work I needed done. In particular, I told him that I needed the tune up finished - the back three spark plugs. He told me that they wouldn't have time to do it that day due to the fact that the manifold would need to be taken off and that it would take some time, but we made tentative future plans for me to bring it back to have it done. Fast forward - while at work at my other job one day, my car wouldn't start. I thought it was the starter. I rented a car on my lunch break, expecting to have to have the car towed into Hub Starters for further repairs. When AAA showed up, the service agent was able to jump my car off of the jump kit. It wasn't the starter, it was the battery, he said. He could have replaced my battery right there, without charging me a thing that day. Hell, I could have changed my own battery. Instead, I asked him to tow the car to Hub Starters. I would get the work done that I had been putting off and desperately needed - primarily the back three spark plugs and wires on the engine At the end of the day, Hub Starters charged me just under half a grand. This was to change the battery, replace the drivers side mirror I had broken, but mostly, to complete the pain-in-the-butt tune up I needed so badly. I picked up my car and drove off, and didn't think twice about it. Until my car started intermittently stalling. Then, one day, I popped the hood, and lo and behold - the same old spark plugs and wires. Hub Starters charged me a small fortune for work they never did. I went to Hub Starters to straighten it out. Surely this was an oversight. No way did they intentionally charge me almost $1,000 for work they never did. The battery and the mirror, I could have fixed that myself. I popped the hood to show the owner. The first thing he said was, "these are new wires," fingering the back plugs' wires. Until I pulled out the old matching front wires we had changed, still stored in my trunk. So then he says, "hold on, give me a minute, I'll figure this out." He goes into the shop for a few minutes and then comes back. He has my receipt in his hand, and he tells me, "we charged you for three spark plugs. We didn't charge you for the wires. You didn't ask us to change the wires." I'm floored already. Who ever heard of anyone changing the spark plugs but reusing the old wires? "So you changed the spark plugs but not the wires?" "Yes," he says. I'm about to pop the wire off one of the back plugs to see if they were new plugs. "We changed these ones," he tells me, pointing to the three front spark plugs. The plugs I had already just changed. The plugs that were brand new. "Why would you do that?" I asked him. He said, "because we ran a diagnostic and the machine told us that was where it was misfiring." I didn't need a diagnostic. I needed the three spark plugs on the back of my engine changed. Hub Starters ripped me off and stole almost $1,000 from me, and I still need the work done. Hub Starters, my Cash App is $LittleHypocritic, if you want to return the money you stole.

**Note that you won't find this review on the company's website because the owner, Jaime Dovale,…read moreremoves all negative reviews ... which, in addition to being deliberately deceptive and dishonest, obviously defeats the purpose of reviews.** Certified. Automotive. Disaster. Without question, this was the worst experience I've ever had as a consumer of any product or service (I'm 58) ... nothing else even comes close. This saga spanned over 2 1/2 years ... it wasn't an isolated incident, and certainly not an outlier. I made the terrible mistake of trusting Jaime Dovale to do a full body-off overhaul of my 2006 Jeep Wrangler, and I couldn't have made a worse choice. Dovale said he was capable of doing the job and estimated that it would take 4-5 weeks. The scope of the project modestly increased as we proceeded, but I ultimately didn't get my Jeep back for 6 months (25 weeks to be exact) ... and only then after frequent visits to check on the status and many requests for completion. When I finally picked up my Jeep, Dovale's endless drivel and empty promises collided with reality ... and reality has prevailed from that day on. I received an absolute mess with which I've been dealing ever since ... a vehicle so riddled with problems that I had to take it back to Certified Automotive Disasters 15 times in the next 13 months ... appalling by any standard. Just think about how insane that is ... 15 times, AFTER he did a full overhaul (ultimately, 17 times in 25 months). And I also had to schedule 3 appointments with a local Jeep dealer and 1 appointment with an auto glass shop to fix problems that Dovale was unwilling to acknowledge, incapable of fixing, or both ... for a grand total of 21 returns in 26 months to fix virtually everything he and his hack techs touched ... and problems remain to this day. Dovale ruined a vehicle that I bought new and had always meticulously maintained ... I now have problems that didn't previously exist (most infuriatingly, water leaks thanks to Dovale's hack body work ... which means my interior gets soaked every time it rains), and he doesn't have the ability or integrity to fix them. NAPA has a limited two-year warranty on its parts and labor, but it turned out that much of the hack work that Dovale did on my Jeep wasn't covered. Yet Dovale falsely claimed, repeatedly, that ALL of his work was covered by a two-year warranty ... a complete lie. He finally admitted (via text) that, actually, he has no written warranty ... which means no warranty exists ... by far, Dovale is the most dishonest businessperson I've ever encountered. I complained to NAPA about a rear main seal leak that Dovale failed to fix twice, and that he then denied was even leaking ... after the local Jeep dealer confirmed that it was the seal, NAPA paid for me to have it repaired at that dealer ... I have the reimbursement check to prove it. Whoever heard of an auto repair shop that is so incompetent that they pay to have the work done at a dealer? I certainly hadn't ... until Certified Automotive Disasters. There isn't enough space in this review to explain all of his careless, sloppy, incompetent mistakes, including many that put my safety at risk ... far worse than a bad DIY job. I've had exponentially more problems since Dovale 'fixed' my Jeep than I did in the previous 15 years combined ... body work, clutch, 4WD, wheel balancing, steering/suspension, exhaust/tailpipe, check engine light, alternator, rear main seal, door seals, header seal, windshield, rear wiper, tailgate hinges/alignment, headlight alignment, turn signals, damage to interior, and the list goes on. And on top of the mind-boggling list of problems/mistakes/errors, the stress, inconvenience, and disruption to my life that he caused is incalculable ... constant and nonstop. I wouldn't trust Dovale to properly inflate a tire ... but if you don't value your vehicle, your money, or your time, then Certified Automotive Disasters is the place for you.

When my 2017 Audi went out of warranty, I started going to Certified after first referring a friend based on another friends recommendation. I couldn't be happier. I never again have to be worried about work being completed properly or being overcharged. Never. I really like them a lot. A++
