Stay far far away, this is THE quintessential scamming auto shop that you usually hear people complain about, and it seems like it's no different here in the Yelp community. I'm actually astonished they're still in business. I went in for my state inspection sticker & they claimed my ~6 month old perfectly working windshield wipers needed to be replaced, otherwise they will fail the inspection. I asked the scam artist to show me what was wrong, he reached in & pulled on the wiper switch & wasted my wiper fluids to show me that absolutely nothing was wrong. They were going to charge $75 dollars to change a pair of windshield wipers that would cost no more than $10 and takes no more than 10 seconds to do, that's robbery in broad daylight, folks. I told family members about it, "...that shady ass shop next to that Chinese take out place on Main St.?" I hear someone say. Surprise surprise, turns out my dad and brother went through the same exact experience. Coincidence it is not, I reckon this happens on the daily. If you've already paid these schmucks the inspection fee but not the robbery fee, then buy a brand new pair of windshield wipers elsewhere, bring it back to this shop & change it in front of them if you have to, get a re-test & sticker, and never return. read more

I received service here a couple of months ago. I needed an oil change and a few other fluid flushes. I also asked them to take a look at the car and let me know if anything needed work - preventatively. I'm a woman and don't like being taken advantage of, so I try to ask some questions and ensure that I'm aware of what people do with the car. I've always had awesome experiences when I do this respectfully and this time I felt completely taken for a ride. I was told that I needed a full brake job and a few other things. I was charged about $275 for the fluid flushes (which is normal). But I'd just had brakes done fairly recently so that seemed weird. I took the car to my parents long-time trusted mechanic about an hour away for a second look and was told the brakes are more than fine, but all of the fluid was filthy. One day later it should have been clear as day. Yesterday I went to Valvoline for my next oil change and was told by them that my fluids were filthy. Still, had the guys at Pro-tech done it, they should have been fine. ...A second opinion proving the guys at Protech didn't do anything and totally ripped me off. That day they told me the computer was down and that he couldn't print a receipt. He was already acting strange and it made me feel like something fishy was happening so I asked him to email it to me once it was up and running which of course he never did. So I can't even go back to them to request my money back. I don't like writing bad reviews but I felt totally screwed by these guys and I'm never taking my car here again. Perfect Customer Service! I bought a used car orf a friend and went to go A&G Auto on a Saturday for the yearly inspection and the car failled the suspension test. Thankfully Marc & Ron worked with me every step of the way and helped fix up the car so it can pass inspection. They gave me a detailed report of what was wrong and gave me a fair price to fix the car (including itemized bill). I needed done by Tuesday so I can drive to work and they were able to accomodate me. On top of that - they noticed my windshield wipers were worn and installed new ones for free! read more

As other reviewers have stated - STAY AWAY!! I would give this place negative stars if I could. My car was making a weird squeaking noise and they said I had to replace the belt tensioner, okay fine. After a week the noise came back, and I brought it in again, and this time he said it was another issue with another part of the car. At this point I was a little skeptical and brought it for a second opinion at another reputable mechanic and they said the tensioner was all rusted and that they probably never even replaced it the first time!! Went back to Pro Tech and spoke with the owner on the phone, and he just told me that there was nothing he could do and that I should go back to the other mechanic to get it fixed. Then he rudely told me to never call him again about my car and hung up. These people will rip you off and you will end up spending more money to get something fixed because they never properly did in the first place. Please do not come here. read more

I had an issue with my Jeep and it turned out the calipers needed to be replaced. I was fairly new to living in the area and didn't have a car guy so I brought it to the closest place. A&G easily had the best rate and the customer service was unlike i've ever experienced in a shop. When I called they were able to get an exact estimate for what the work would be and they stuck to it. I've gone in a few other times for minor stuff and they are still great. I'd highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs automotive work done. read more

Most of the people here are friendly but for the exception of one, which I had to deal with. I came here for a car inspection at 2:30 which they told me was a free slot however I didn't get inspected until a little after three. I proceeded to tell the guy that I'm in the middle of a claim fixing my front bumper and he refused to inspect it. I said fine and asked for a screwdriver to put it on and he said no and that he'd charge me five dollars to screw it on. I said sure as I was already annoyed by his attitude. After initially passing the test, I realized he didn't use the pre existing holes to screw and drilled new ones that aren't even symmetrical. Go elsewhere for your car inspection. read more

Speedy, trust worthy and economical service. Took my kia sportage in for a standard oil change and tire rotation but also needed my car inspected for a squealing noise I typically hate taking my car into a mechanic bc I'm constantly afraid of getting ripped off. These guys were able to tell me nearly straightaway what the problem was, point it out and explain in to me, and had it ready same day. They were able to help me with my older Nissan Pathfinder and now that I have a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, I go nowhere else for my regular maintenance. A friend of mine recommended me about this place and I'm so glad I listened! First mechanic I've gone to where I've had a favorable experience. The shop has wonderful customer service. I came in for my car tune up, oil change, and wheel rotation/new tires. They checked my entire car - letting me know about their opinion about what should be fixed and what can be left alone. They never pressured me into doing anything I didn't want to (unlike other shops where they give you a laundry list of what's wrong with your car when it's perfectly fine)! They explained everything step by step in a way I would understand. Best part of it all? They were very accomodating! They knew I was in a hurry and gave me a time frame to expect the job to be done - they were done before then! How often does that happen?? I went there for an inspection. They tried to hook the computer up to my car but they could not find the connector in my dashboard. These guys do inspections all day long everyday and they can't find something in my dashboard that needs to be connected to the computer so I had to go to someplace else and I will never return there because I found it what they couldn't and I'm not a mechanic. I brought my car in to get the 100k maintenance done along with my inspection, i was very leery at first due to the horrible reviews that this shop has received with poor customer service. I decided to give it a chance since I was short on time and this location was closest to where i was at the moment. I called ahead of time to see if they have any bays open to get inspection done and to set an appointment to have my 100k maintenance done over the weekend. The gentleman who picked up the phone was very professional and friendly and let me know that there is a bay open to do my inspection if i come in immediately but made no promises if another customer came in if I took too long. Upon arriving, as promised there was a bay open. The guy who did my inspection was very kind and let me know one of my brake lights were out, The price they gave me was so cheap, I don't think they even charged me for the labor. I got my 100k maintenance done a few days later over the weekend and my car is driving so smooth now you can't even tell it has 100K+ miles on it! I'm glad I didn't listen to the poor reviews and experienced this place for myself! Their price for doing my maintenance were much less than what other places quoted me and the customer service could not be any better. Life saver. Car wouldn't start in a severe cold weather, I believe it was at 10 below with wind chill that day, and needed to take my mom in for a dialysis treatment. Called two places they said I need to tow the car to their shop, called pro tech and they listened and cared enough of my dire situation to send a mechanic to jump start my car, drive it back to the shop, changed the battery all under 1hr. read more

Apparently all good things must come to an end. Went in for my inspection this year and will never be back. They literally blackmailed me into paying their inflated prices for very minor things (that I could honestly have done myself had I realized they needed to be done before going in for my inspection), with the threat of not passing me due to something else that isn't even an actual infraction. Was told that if I got the other things done right then and there they would pass me, but otherwise would write me up for the "issue" that isn't actually even a reason to not pass inspection. Amazing service! I've had my oil changed and various other things done there. They are always forthcoming about what's needed, and the pricing is more than fair. When I had issues with my previous lease, they recommended a particular service that was covered under warranty, and told me that so I wouldn't spend money without having to. They always took care of my car right away, and told me exactly how long a service would take. The Pro Tech team is competent, diligent and honest, and I trust them fully with my car. read more

Called a couple of mechanics around the area and as I suspected most are trying to rip me off just because of my dire situation. Brought it in, had them guarantee to me that the job would be done in 1.5 hrs like they said it would otherwise I would get an additional 20% off. I have spent the last couple of weeks in and out of this shop. Not because they do not know what they're doing, but because they are thorough! when they begin a job, they standby until it's complete. Luis was a great help and worked with my busy work schedule to ensure my car was fixed in a timely manner. Remember, in everything you do...you get what you pay for. So spend the extra money. I visited the shop in about a week ago and they serviced my vehicle right away. This is why I'm giving them two stars instead of one. My car didn't pass the state inspection but they couldn't tell me why. They told me to drive hundred miles which I did right away and got back the next day as we spoke. There was nobody to take care of me and I was told to go the day after. There was nobody of the technicians so I had to reschedule for 4th time. I returned for numerous time, I waisted my time and money and the car didn't pass the inspection again. I went right away to a different repair shop and the problem was taken care right away! read more

Our daugher lives near Boston. We live across the country. Her Jeep had a "check engine" code. She had no history going to a mechanic and no relationship with anyone who could suggest a good one. She chose to go to "Pro Tech" mainly based on Yelp reviews. We are very happy she did. Our daughter sent the contact info to me and I had several calls with Luis (if the car was here, I would have fixed it myself). Luis/Pro Tech fixed the reason the car threw a code but the Jeep was still hesitating (it had been doing that somewhat before they serviced it). Luis suggested replacing the crank sensor (CSP). After investing some time on the Jeep Forum it looked like a good idea. We still were not sure this would fix the problem and Luis allowed our daughter to pick up the car without payment (in case there was still a problem). Turns out the 23 dollar part fixed the hesitation problem and the car was running better than it did before it threw the code. Trust and customer service. While I was initially reserved about a service outfit where I had no experience I can tell you now that these Yelp reviews are indeed valid. This place is a "keeper"! read more

I've serviced my car here many times over the past year. Anything I need, be it a simple oil change or replacing the master cylinder or getting my car inspected, I'm in and out with time to spare. Ron, the mechanic, not only does great work but is great with details of the work performed. More than one occasion, I've brought my car in thinking it needed major work but after a quick diagnostics test, he educated me in what the problem was and how I can avoid future problems like it. Feels good to trust a mechanic. Marc, the owner, was also very welcoming and asked if I needed anything in regards to computers. They also service computers and Iphones. Marc updated my Iphone while I got an some work done. I can't take this guy seriously, but in a good way. Always joking around with customers and employees alike. I would definitely recommend this place for any type of automotive or technological need. read more
