I had a pretty disappointing experience at the Costco Tire Center. I bought four new tires online and was alerted that they had an appointment for the following day. My appointment was at 2:30 pm. I arrived around 2:20 pm to drop off my car and was told the service would take about 1.5 hours. When I returned 2 hours after my original appointment time, I was then told it would take at least another hour. The original time estimate was not accurate, and in total it ended up being close to 3.5 hours before I got my car back. It would have been helpful to have a more accurate estimate ahead of time. If appointments are running this far behind, they should consider scheduling fewer cars or being upfront about realistic wait times. For a scheduled appointment, this was a big waste of time. read more

Ordered a tire. Received email stating tire was shipped. Received second email stating tire had arrived at Dedham Costco tire center. When I arrived a couple of days later, no tire. They saw the order and email but had no idea where my tire was located... it wasn't at the Tire Center or distribution center or anywhere else. They apparently haven't a timely resolution. Are used to get my tires exclusively at Costco. For one reason or another I tried other places. I can tell you that my experience with national Tire Center was very poor. If you go to an independent garage to get your tires done you should have your head examined. They do not offer the guarantees or the service. This week Michelin tires are on sale for $139. The other thing is that you're able to come in and get your tires checked whatever you want what do you have the nitrogen that they use to fill the tires adjusted. All for free read more

Oscar and Steve went way beyond their normal work to help our family with an unexpected emergency. We got a flat tire in Boston at around 9:00 PM, and since my tires were old and would have needed replacement within the year, I figured we should just spring the money for a new set at Costco rather than try to patch a 6 year old tire. Since it was almost 10:00 PM by the time the tow truck had my car, we had the tow truck drive to Costco with the expectation being that we would drop it off and come back the next day for the service. To our surprise, Oscar and Steve were working late on another project and they greeted us at the store and started helping us with the paperwork and services. Finding that our desired tires were not in stock, they ordered the size for delivery the next day and then installation. We were able to pick up our car and drive away the next afternoon. It would have been perfectly within their rights to just wait for us to come back the next morning but their involvement gave us some peace to an otherwise annoying emergency. TL;DR: Horrible service, chronically understaffed and extremely disorganized. I made an appointment last Tuesday to install my existing winter tires (I was charged $50 although I thought it was supposed to be free for life, maybe I'm wrong). I was told 1h-1h30' max. That is longer than my guy here around the corner, but it makes sense because that's how long it takes to shop at CostCo. After 1h30' they hadn't started yet but told me my car was right up next. So I decided to take another 30' and hang out with frozen shrimp and turkey in my cart. 30' later I am told the exact same thing: they haven't started yet, my car is next. I politely complain about the poor communication and the waste of time and decide it's time to take my car home. One staff member (who seems to have more authority than the others) apologizes profusely, explains they are understaffed, and claims he will "take care of" me. We agree that I come back Saturday at 2pm and I'll get priority service ("you'll be in and out"). At that time, he will also refund me the $50 so I will get complimentary service. I still do not relish the idea of wasting my Saturday afternoon at a CostCo changing tires, when I could be playing tennis with my children, but I see that they are doing their best and I want this to be a success for everyone so I agree to the plan. So I come back Saturday afternoon at 2pm on purpose to do this tire swap. They take my car. After 1h 30' they haven't started working on it yet. One of the staff tries to blame me for not making an appointment. I am also told about a different understaffing problem. I ask for a refund and the refund itself takes 25 minutes and three people to process. Overall, I wasted a total of 3 hours (1/2 hour last time + 2 1/2 hours this time, including travel to and from the place). This was completely avoidable with proper communication and organization. This used to be a great tire shop, they must have changed management. I've had my tires installed here and they did great work earlier this year. I had a puncture repaired last week which didn't fix the leak. After taking time off work for the repair, I opted to replace the tire to make sure it was fixed. I ordered a new tire and scheduled the replacement/installation and took more time off of work. When I arrived for my appointment, they refused to do the installation due to a new policy banning outside tires. That's all well and good, but why schedule the work before I took they day off and wasted an hour for nothing. I would avoid this shop now. Front desk service wasn't great - there were four people waiting in line to be helped, but he would always prioritize answering the phone before the customers who were already in line in the store. They weren't quick phone calls either - he was literally scheduling appointments and confirming personal information out loud over the phone for everyone in the store to hear (not my info but don't think that's okay for other people's personal privacy). Anyways, the mechanic who actually helped me, Oscar, was great! Super nice and friendly. There was another guy working on my car as well (forgot his name), and he was great as well. Overall, it took about 1.5 hours so I just shopped at the Costco in the meantime. And, maybe its a pandemic thing, but I really appreciated them putting plastic covers over the headrest and steering wheel. I haven't seen that at any of the dealerships that I usually get my tires changed at. read more

I have now had two bad experiences here so felt I needed to warn others. The first occurred when I have my snow tires switched to summer tires last year. They had told me to save my summer tires but when I went to have them put back on they told me two of the tires were no longer up to their standards and they refused to put them back on. Not sure why they told me to save them all winter. They also insisted I buy 4 tires "because it was 4 wheel drive" despite me telling them over and over it was actually 2 wheel drive. I had to make them literally look at the bottom on the car to prove it was not 4 wheel drive. I've had this car for 11 years yet they were so arrogant they didn't bother to listen to me. I ended up buying 2 tires. I just returned to have one tire checked as it has been repeatedly low on pressure since purchasing it. I assumed they would help since they installed the tire. They told me it again needed to be replaced (another $170) because of a leaking patch. I understand maybe this happens and it wasn't their fault but they AGAIN said "I assume this car is 4 wheel drive" which I can only imagine is an effort to sell more tires. Please don't assume. Please look at the car in front of you and make a fair assessment. As much I love Costco, I ALWAYS feel taken advantage of at this tire center. read more

I have visited a few Costco tire centers over the years and have never had a problem with any of them. I always enjoy the straightforward service- buy the tires I want (which are usually on sale), pay at the cash register, and have them installed. No additional sales pitches about how my blinker fluid is critically low or how I absolutely need an alignment since I was due for one 20K miles ago. But Oscar and his team at the Everett location have made for the best experiences I have ever had at a Costco tire center. I had gone to see Oscar earlier in the year to install Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3 tires for my Acura as I had a non-repairable tire on the car. After comparing prices, Costco had the best deal and a set of four tires were available to be installed on the same day. Oscar and his team were courteous and very helpful during every step of the process, something you don't usually expect from a tire shop. Oscar had told me it would take about two hours for the installation since the pending snowstorm and soon to expire instant rebate on Michelin tires created a line of customers scrambling to get new tires installed. About an hour later, I received a call saying that my car was done. I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours. I didn't mind anyway, I had a hot dog, chicken bake, and berry sundae to keep me company while I waited. Fast forward to today, when I noticed a slow leak on one of my rear tires. I could not spot the puncture, but headed to Costco anyway to redeem my free repair warranty. Oscar took a look at the tire and found a nail hidden on the angle between the tread and the sidewall, and mentioned that it was not repairable. He courteously explained the prorated warranty to me and how they would have to special order the tire. He mentioned it would take a day to arrive, or there was a chance it could arrive on the same day. He rang me up at the register and informed me a new tire under warranty would be $19. Can't complain about that, especially since the new tire would cost $150 alone! I'm still waiting for Oscar to call me when the tire comes in, but I have no doubts that it will be delivered and installed quickly and professionally. Thanks Oscar & Team! read more

After waiting a while she showed up and when I asked if they had the Michelin discount offer at VW dealer. He just told me go there. I have been to a lot of Costco tire centers - and service is always average. At the Everett location - Oscar really makes the place. He is friendly and really cares about the customer. He not only communicates all updates - he also jumps into the mix and helps his crew - screwing up his nice white dress shirt. Oscar definitely makes this place. I love costco and shop here every week when possible. I showed up today at 930 am to get my winter wheels changed over to summer wheels. I have been waiting 1.5 hours having completed my indoor shopping and now watching while they complete fire changes and rotations (longer more involved processes) on cars that came after me, stopping to refill tires on passenger cars that did not have service at costco. While I love costco this is very frustrating, would appreciate better process flow. It does not require four people to load tires into another car. It doesn't take 1.5 hours to put on wheels and air. read more

Great experience bringing my own tires into Costco to be mounted and balanced. $15 each tires and they took the old as well as installed them quickly. I called around and comparable mount and balance was 25-32 each. No brainer... The Manager did the install and checkout and was very nice as well as timely. read more

I just got tires from them and found everyone in the store to be very helpful and efficient. It takes a bit of time to install, just because they're so busy, but if you go prepared to wait a few hours then you shouldn't have any issues. The tires are very affordable compared to other independent tires stores as well. read more

They do a very good job, but the waits are ridiculous. I was there at opening on a Saturday and told a flat repair would take 4 hrs. I came back on a weekday and was literally the first person in the building and my flat repair took almost two hours. read more
