MOST FRUSTRATING 10 HOUR EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. My baby, my g-ryde needed to get its sounds fixed (bass was cutting in & out) & a new alarm system. Key Points: - nice manager, willing to make a deal - bad communication (left me in the dark for hours) - rude mechanics did a rushed, incomplete, unprofessional job - busy wkends - free wifi 9:00 am - I came here because my brother recommended it (he's a loyal customer who's gotten good deals over the years). Since I knew this place would be busy on Saturday, I came early (30 mins before they opened at 9:30) to ensure I'd be the 1st customer in & the 1st one out. Once they were ready, they quickly trouble-shooted the problem: the wires were loose and needed to be adjusted. In addition to installing an alarm, I asked to get a second amp for my interior sounds but requested that my pre-existing kill switch only be applied to my subs in the back. Joe (the owner) assured me they would install it so that the new amp would stay on while the old one would have to be turned on/off manually with my switch. Luckily, my brother was able to work out a deal so that it would be cheaper than Joe's initial estimate. Or so I thought... 1:01 pm - They informed me that one of my speakers on the dash were busted so I ended up getting a new set. Since I waited patiently, Joe let me talk down the price. 2:33 - Joe told me my car was done. I paid and went to my car. It was not ready. 3:00 - After seeing customers and cars roll in and out, I go to the garage and ask one of the mechanics eating his lunch how much longer they think they will be. He seems unsure and says it'll be done soon. Joe sees me and informs me that the RCA cables weren't good and needed to be completely replaced. Since I was waiting patiently, he told me not to worry about the cost and went back to the office. Hungry, I asked another mechanic for an estimate so I could see if I should eat. He says another hour. 3:30 - I come back with my brother. He says it'll be another 40 minutes to an hour. We stand outside and watch him complete the job. 4:10 - They finish. He quickly put everything back into place (with the way he was handling my car, I was worried he was going to break the vents for my AC!). None of the debris from the job were cleaned out and the stuff from my glove compartment was scattered all over the passenger seat and floor. He even made a rude comment about my belongings in the car! Another mechanic complained about how my car took the whole day to fix. Annoyed, I drove off. As I drove home, I realized they did not properly connect the sounds. They connected the new amp to the kill switch, something I specifically instructed them not to do. I went back and parked my car in the garage and told the mechanic that my sounds on the interior were not supposed to be connected to the kill switch. I'm guessing he thought I was some ignorant little girl because he talked me in a condescending manner. As if he knew everything and like I knew nothing, he said that if I was going to have a kill switch, then ALL the sounds in the car would turn off when I turned off the switch. I told him it wasn't supposed to be wired that way and that that wasn't the agreement. He said it would be easy to fix but told me he had other cars to work on and that I had to come back on Monday. I WAS HOT!!!! 4:18 - I went to the office but only Joe's wife (I'm assuming that's who she was) was there. I remained calm but explained to her why I was upset. She didn't seem to understand the technical work that needed to be done but even she thought it was ridiculous my car wasn't done after 7 hours. She didn't know what to do so she told me to wait for Joe to come in about 30 minutes. MY PATIENCE WAS WEARING THIN. Another worker (Eric) came and talked to me. He remembered me from the morning, apologized for the inconvenience, and tried to quell my frustration and anger. I insisted I would not return on Monday and he assured me that the job would be completed by the end of the day. I knew they didn't have the power to talk to the mechanics the way Joe could so I had no choice but to wait. 4:50 - Joe comes. My brother tells him what the mechanic said and Joe replies, "Well, I wasn't here." (implying he didn't authorize it). In an effort to be productive, I work on my laptop & learned they had free wifi! 5:22 - Joe tells me my car is done. My brother pops the hood and sees that one of the pieces covering the engine was not properly put in place (it literally would've slid off) and the cables were not mounted securely (it could've got caught in the belt). I cleaned out the debris and my brother had to fix the subs in the back and re-mount the wires & cover under the hood. Since the mechanics were in such a hurry, they didn't even tune the amp correctly. We're going to have to do that ourselves later. 7:00 - We finished THEIR job! Verdict: The deal wasn't worth the hassle. read more

Been a customer for 8 years because they have lifetime warranty on their tints and they do an amazing job on every single thing that they do. I brought numerous cars to them and have recommended them to my friends. 4 years after getting my accord tinted, the back window's tint started to peel off. I went back to the store to get it fixed and they did it with no questions asked, and it was done in a timely manner. Quality backed by warranty. If they can do a service that I need, I'll go to them first before going to another. I am a customer for life. Stay away please. They marked false advertised price, charging me 600 more than I was expecting, only to provide poor quality product with terrible work ethics. After getting setup they ended up costing me 750$ in electrical repairs as well as destroying my oil line. They refused to compensate me and claimed it wasn't their fault. After arguing for hours they finally agreed to give me new products as a way to repay me. The deal was changed multiple times and I ended up paying out of pocket for the upgrades they promised hahaha. I've wasted over 200$ from ubering back and forth because they can't get their appointments straight. They're liars and cheaters. During my multiple visits there was always an unhappy customer getting something fixed. Do it right the first time. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemies. I went there to upgrade my stereo with gps he charge me $300 for the stereo and labor but instead of having a good sound the stereo that he install was so poor sound and the gps is not working. I asked another shop and they said that soundstreams is the cheapest car stereo and with very bad quality. I aslo went there to have my head light upgrade to LED but within 3 days head lamp already busted. I been going back there almost every 5 days. I use to come here to get my tint done on all my cars, subwoofers installed etc. I came here about a month ago looking for Joe but they told me he was on vacation. I wanted to get a subwoofer reinstalled with the same wires I was previously using, basically a relocation with a smaller subwoofer. They were charging me $90 but if they needed to use new wires it would be $110. I made a mistake of agreeing to $90 because later on I checked my receipts for a previous subwoofer installation when Joe was there, he only charged me $70. Eric was a great help. I bought a cd player/radio from bestbuy and needed a quick installation. These guys were able to do it same day, (in less than an hour). Please! Reviewers must be relatives. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning to have a stereo & speakers installed, and have the windows tinted. They told me to come back at lunch to pick it up. Tried calling to verify the car was ready, but nobody would answer the phone. Had someone take me there at lunch, but it wasn't done. Was told to come back at 4pm. Came back at 4pm, and had to wait another 1.5 hours to finally get my car. Horrible service! Tint started peeling off after less than a year, so I took it back. Owner won't even look you in the eye, or come out from behind the boxes if he thinks there might be a problem he has to deal with. He had someone else go look at the damaged goods. After the inspection, the owner told me he would fix it if I waited. When it was actually time to fix it he came out to look & tried to tell me the one window that was bad was done somewhere else - so he won't fix it. Bad enough he won't stand behind his work, but the fact that he will outright lie to get out of taking responsibility is pathetic. I will never go the Pro-Tech Car Stereo again for any reason. I gave this place a shot and ever since then, i have been a long time costumer. About 5 months ago, I bought a convertible car. (my story will not have grammar beyond this point just fyi.) The day after i bought it i had joes guys working on it I had paid a reasonable price for his products He offers lifetime warranty on tint btw Anyways before we made the agreement he and i agreed that i was going to pay for him to tint ALL my windows except the back one but only because i was going to get the top replaced he had told me that when my top was replaced just to bring in my car and he would tint it since i had already paid for it to reassure me he had wrote that on the receipt anyways long story short i had taken months to replace my top and sure enough right after i took my car back to joes for him to honor his word even after it had been months after and i admit i was worried when i took my car back because i had lost my receipt well when i got there he said he did not remember that specific agreement nonetheless he told me he would honor what he had said in the past I must admit i blamed myself for loosing the receipt and felt bad for it but did not feel bad as his guy worked on my car. Protech popped up when I googled for car stereo installers close to my home in Carson. Several Yelp reviewers gave them a thumbs up, so I called them for a price quote. They told me $30. Sold. I asked to make an appointment, and found them to be free immediately -- and I was there ten minutes later. It took them about 30 minutes to install the unit, which worked perfectly.
