The first thing I noticed was how friendly and low pressure they are. I felt like they were really there only to give us info, and sell us what package we want, if we decide to buy with them. I consulted Brad with Pro Water Solutions about an issue with hard water scale affecting my regulators and fixtures in my house. I had been replacing regulators that had become caked in scale in less than 6 months time because of the hardness of the water coming in. There were options offered, and I explained that I could not go for the normal full size option as I did not have a basement or dedicated space such as a garage to put the system. The main water line to the house was on my patio, and as such I didn't want to see large tanks. Brad offered 2 other options including a medium sized option involving cabinets instead of large tanks. I explained that atheistic was very important. Brad found cabinets that he could order in white, and a much smaller footprint than the typical large tank system. All of the equipment was sourced locally, so the supply chain problems weren't an issue. I had the system ordered, delivered, and installed less than a week from the initial consultation. The installation was done very quickly considering the amount of work involved. (they had to go under my house through a crawlspace to access the drain line) From the beginning it was clearly explained what options I had to choose from and what advantages each option had or didn't have. The water at our house was ridiculously hard....water rings everywhere, dishwasher spots even with a high end dishwasher, and clothes that were like burlap after washing and drying. Brad got back to me the same day I inquired and was at our house within a couple days. I was glad that there was a solution other than salt water systems so we went with the non-salt conditioning vs. softening. We were adequately informed of the differences between the two systems. We also had an RO system installed underneath our sink. We are VERY happy with our choice and have seen improvements in all the areas I mentioned above. In fact, this saved us from getting a new dishwasher (which it turns out was not the problem). The installer, Mauricio, was knowledgeable and did an above and beyond job of installing this in the least intrusive way. It was harder work for him, but great for us and how it looks. We moved to a new home in Rancho Palos Verdes in September, 2021. We had a whole house filtration system in our old house and wanted one in our new house as the water in RPV is very hard. The fixtures here showed the scaling results of this hard water and our washed clothes felt "rough." One important issue that we needed to address was the location of any treatment system that would need to be installed. Our old house had a space in the garage for a large water treatment tank; however, our new house did not have room in the garage because of pre-existing plumbing. That meant that an outside installation was required. After conducting an extensive investigation of potential water treatment systems and meeting with a number of representatives from other companies, we decided to go with Pro Water Solutions, a privately owned company located in Valencia. We were impressed by our meeting with Brad Belnap, one of the co-owners of Pro Water Solutions. He had extensive knowledge of the various water treatment alternatives and answered our questions. The price quoted was reasonable and less than some of the quotes. The location of the system would await his co-owner, Jack Fithian, coming out to do the installation. During a couple of prior meetings with other water treatment reps I wasn't happy that they wanted to place the water tanks in front of our house. That would be very unsightly. I wanted to put the tanks behind a gate at the side of our house to hide them from the street. To my very pleasant surprise that is exactly where Jack said the tanks should go! We selected a soft water system that included two tanks and a brine tank to hold either the salt or potassium pellets. The installation was on time and went smoothly. Because salt is not good for plants, Jack put in two water lines - one to soften the water coming into our house and another line without softener for our plants. There was no reduction in our water pressure from having two lines. Unrelated to the quality of the water softening system, we decided to change to a "Scale Prevention System" which does not include a water softener. After discussing the matter with Brad and Jack, they accommodated our request and Jack's son came out quickly and put in the different system. After more than six months, we are very happy with how the Pro Water Solutions system works. The non-softening system (which we understand is required by some cities) has not changed the taste of our water and our clothes feel much softer than before. Also, there is no scale developing on our fixtures and we feel comfortable that our appliances are also being protected. Bottom Line: we will recommend Pro Water Solutions to our friends. They provide a number of fine water treatment options at a reasonable cost and do it in a prompt and professional manner. read more

I was re-caulking the bathroom and had a lot of difficulty due to accumulation of scaling from our hard water. My neighbor recommended I talk to Brad. Called him out for an estimate, and he recommended the softener as well as a whole house carbon filter to remove the detergent (chloramine) used by LA county to keep our water safe. Had to start doing research for myself since dangers of chloramine are new to me , so I delayed moving forward for a couple of weeks. I was constantly emailing and texting Brad questions. He was responsive and patient until I was ready. Ended up getting the softener, whole house carbon filter, and reverse osmosis system under the sink. His crew came out to install; they were punctual, communicative in terms of texting when on the way and expected arrival on the day of, and clean .. overall very professional as expected. Even accommodated me on my request to have a tap outside for watering the lawn that used unconditioned water. I am very happy with the system so far. Water is definitely soft as you get that nice slick feel when washing with soap. It is only been two weeks and my little electric water boiler has already de-scaled so further evidence it's working as intended. My wife was complaining about the space used up under the sink due to the RO system (it has a 3 gallon tank used to keep the pressure higher) but after tasting the water (no taste!) it has been worth it for her .. the fridge filter doesn't come even close. With the carbon filter, the obvious evidence is no more chlorine smell. You kind of don't realize its there until someone points it out, but before installing the system you get the blast of the pool smell every-time you turn on the shower . That is gone now. In terms of benefits health wise, there isn't a really obvious way to measure this for me. But numerous studies are out there in terms of negative long-term impacts of inhaling chloramine by-products when it aerosolizes in the shower, and also numerous lawsuits about pinhole piping in copper systems after counties switch over to chloramine. There are always contrary opinions, but for my peace of mind after doing my own research I decided to play it safe since we have the resources to do so (it is an additional investment). Only negative is the backwash on the carbon system, it runs once a week and is pretty loud (takes about 15 minutes) due to high pressure water running through a small 1.25 inch pipe. But also a positive since the benefit is you don't have to change out the carbon for a long time. Will be interested how the system holds up over time, but Brad and his crew have shown excellent customer service and I trust them to help me keep everything in good shape. read more
