I went in to get a hair color. My hair caught on fire during the process and was smoking. They didn't ask how I was or anything. She then let me come back for a second coloring to try to correct the first mistake. It still is not right. I went in for a gray and black look, not I am a bleached blonde with hair that is so dry. I called to make a third appointment and they acted like it was too hard for them to try to correct their error. Instead they said they would call if there was a cancellation. Otherwise, I could make an appointment for a month away. Really, you screwed up my hair and can't find someone there to fix it for a month. Thanks Process! read more

Courtney did such an amazing job with my hair. I am always reluctant to try new hair stylists as I have been let down so many times in the past because I have thick wavy hair. She listened to my needs and executed them better than I've ever had done before. On top of the AMAZING service, I received a hand written thank you note in the mail. Well...after getting my done at Process, my hair required attention of a color correction specialist. What was most upsetting is that I messaged the company through their website with no reply and then when I called to cancel my appointment and nicely told the receptionist why I was canceling, she said okay and hung up. They didn't even offer an insincere apology. And trust me, it was a PROCESS to get my hair back to professionally acceptable standards. read more

Lindsay did an amazing job with my hair and eyebrows and was so kind and personable! When there was something I wanted changes, she addressed it meticulously, but cautiously so as to avoid cutting too much off. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair in the last week since I got my haircut! It's been a real quality of life changer, since I'm not fussing with things I don't like about my hair in the morning. It just looks good doing next to nothing. What more could someone ask for? The atmosphere is this place is nice without slapping you in the face with a headache from strong smells. That being said, their products smell fantastic. The place is chic and clean, their prices are very fair...only complaint is that it's kinda tough to get an appt which to get around that, I just book ahead when I'm in there so its no big deal. This is a late review, but it was a wedding and Prom Saturday. I rolled into Columbia without an appointment for a wedding that day. I figured I would wing it and went to the MAC Counter at Belk's. The whole ride there I called around to salons trying to get my hair handled and Process was a little farther off but had an opening. It was worth it because it's a beautiful salon with a great attention to detail and consistency. I went in for a blow out and died seeing all the blow dryers hanging from the ceiling. It was awesome and ergonomic for the stylist. But she was telling me about their education for staff and it was encouraging to hear. I would love to come back from Charleston for haircut but their Saturdays are booked two months in advance and I can't come up during the week. This totally is worth leaving Charleston to get your hair done. I've had so many bad cuts in the Lowcountry. read more

I was very dissatisfied with my services at process. I went in for a trim and was in the salon for a total of fifteen minutes. Hair was not shampooed or styled. I was charged $50 for fifteen minutes of the hairdresser's time. Very disappointing. I understand upscale salon pricing but I never have experienced something quite like $50 for fifteen minutes. First time customer. Like my hair cut and color. BUT....Very overpriced even for an upscale salon. I was charged $138 for a single process haircut and color. That's fine/expected. BUT when I got to the register, the girl told me my total is $155 and would I like to add a tip/would I like my receipt? Of course I got my receipt because the higher charge was questionable especially since I only got my roots/top part of my hair dyed to match the bottom. I left a review when prompted because the extra charges were "service charges" and I did not understand. When the manager called me to talk about my review, she told me the service charges are "like a tax" or "administrative fee for things such as brushes or foils." Wtf lol why do I as a first time customer need to pay for other people's foils (that I did not get) and if I am going to be made to pay for a hairbrush used on my hair, why can't I keep it/they could use a new brush on each customer if that's what you are going to say that the service charges are for. I tipped and paid my $138 and do believe the extra $17 is a BS charge that they know they are wrong for tacking on! read more

Loved it! Went to Process for an initial consultation with Josh. I was the last appointment of the day for this gifted young man. He listened to my frustrations from years of going to another stlyist who just wasn't doing it for me anymore. I was tired of trying to explain the look I desired. So, I decided to finally break away and try someone new. I am so thrilled that I did. Wish I had done it sooner! Not only did Josh offer his expert advice during that consultation, he went ahead and cut and styled my hair right then since I could no longer tolerate the mediocre cut I had recently gotten, yet again! He beautifully sculpted my hair and stayed nearly an hour past the closing time. That's dedication and customer service! Cannot wait to go back for highlights and another styling session! If I could rate this business less than one star I certainly would. I googled hair salons near me and Process had a pretty good review average so I called to ask if they had any stylist that were talented with blonde hair and blending layers well. I was told by the receptionist they all were. She booked me with Raquel. A few days later she called back and said Raquel wouldn't be there during my appt and she put me with Lexie later in the day. I arrived 20 minutes early and was excited about a quality cut with her. The receptionist was polite and asked me to fill out a questionnaire so my stylist could get to know me. Once Lexie took me back it was apparent that she had NOT read the questionnaire at all and in fact it felt like Lexie didn't like her job or didn't want to be there. At one point I wondered if maybe she was on something because of the way she was answering/not answering my questions. She applied at least 4 different products to my hair for a cut. Her idea of layering blonde hair is to thin it out instead of making good cuts. After she awkwardly dried my hair on the HOT setting, she tried to get out the thinning shears and I ended the appointment then. When I got to the front the receptionist asked me how it was and I said, "Not good. I will not be coming back, not to see Lexie at least." She said, "I'm sorry to hear that." and immediately asked for payment and that was the end of the conversation. I took photos as soon as I got home that reflect the cut, blow dry, and style Lexie did. I took them in different lighting as well to give as clear a view as possible. I am actually in shock at how bad the experience was at this salon. Not only was my stylist incompetent but the receptionist failed miserably at customer service. If you are looking for even a decent hair salon, I recommend you look elsewhere!! read more

I was very disappointed in this salon. As a natural brunette, I get highlights + am pretty much blonde at this point. Well, my roots are STILL here after paying $150 (way more than listed as the base price on the website) and I am pretty unhappy. I am new to Columbia and was hoping to find somewhere that I loved that I could stick with for the next few years. Unfortunately, this is not it. Josh cut my hair six weeks ago and it was great. He listened to what I wanted, did a great cut, and it really held up. I had an appointment with him today but when I got to the salon, the appointment had been changed to another stylist with no notice. If there had been advanced notice, I would have rescheduled with Josh. Instead, they didn't even say anything when I arrived but sat me with another stylist without comment. When I asked, they gave a lame excuse, a shrug, and no apology. Josh is great but I didn't like being treated like this so I won't be back, which I'm really sad about. read more

I arrived about 15 minutes earlier, waited about 25 minutes to get seated. I went there for the highlight and cut, I ended up with a darker color all over with a BOB cut. I haven't had this kind of bad haircut ever!! They charged me $171 for it! I won't go back there again that's for sure! read more
