My first contact with this company seemed to be a positive one. The lady that answered the phone…read moreseemed to understand, as a woman, where I was coming from in attempting to express my need to have our new house's tank pumped. In my naiveness, I admitted that we didn't know the state of our house's septic tank to which she replied that she would recommend that we get it pumped. I was pleasantly surprised when she told me that they had an opening the following day. This should have been red flag number one. What reputable and in demand company has availability the next day? Regardless, I booked a 9 AM appointment to have someone come out and pump our septic tank. She had already quoted the amount for pumping a tank that would typically be in a 3 bedroom house. She warned me that if the septic tank was more than 20 inches under ground that they would have to charge a $250 fee to bring in a backhoe and dig it out. So I asked her what would happen if the man came out and found out that he needed to dig out the septic tank and we said well let us do it and come back when we're done, she said that she didn't know but that she was sure that he'd "work with us." Well the next day when a man came out and found out that the tank was actually 1,000 gallons he said he'd have to charge more. He told my husband that if he didn't want to pay that amount then that man said that my husband would have to pay $250 just for having the company essentially come out and uncover the tank. My husband felt that he had no choice but to pay the man to pump out the tank. I must say that the tank wasn't HALF FULL!! I don't think that it was right for him to charge to pump out a 1,000 gallon tank that wasn't even half full. He could've charged the lesser amount (the one for a smaller tank) since our tank wasn't half full but perhaps he saw an opportunity to charge more and by golly he took it! I'm not sure what their goal is but it isn't earning lifetime customers. I think that the right thing would've been to charge us less since our septic tank was NOT HALF FULL!!

Full disclosure: I haven't had the septic tank pumped in 10+ years so I knew there might be issues. They quoted me $495 but upon arrival I could see a possible bait & switch building up. 1st, no riser so that would cost me extra (doubling the price). By the time they lifted the cover off the tank it had become a major catastrophe -- they told me it needed all sorts of extra work lest I need to have a new drain field put in, etc. etc. So to make things right they said $2,950 (6x the quote) to complete the pumping, back pump field lines and add a rear T baffle. I probably have more $ than brains so I told them to get it done. If you plan to use them I would suggest to ask them all of the possible upcharges that may be tacked on once they are on-site.
