Leaving the computer in the shop, I was prepared to bed computer-less for a couple of days. Nope, after only a couple of hours I got a call from PC HELP. The gremlin in my PC turned out to be a dying hard drive. Tom told me the cost to repair (which was very reasonable), and I gave the go ahead. So, my trusty HP computer got repaired quickly and competently and I am delighted. Good service, quality work, reasonable price, and quick repair time. If I could give 0 stars, I would…read more I sent in my desktop computer because the RAM recently failed a boot cycle, which fried the SSD to the point that it could not have been repaired. After doing my own research, I decided that it would be best if I send in to a 'professional' to get it replaced and have the set up done. Once I got it back, everything ran considerably slower - The boot times went from a couple of seconds to 5+ minutes. I had to do my own research to discover that when they put in the new SSD, that was all they did. When they set up the new OS on my computer, they did not even bother to initialize the new SSD. That means that my computer was completely unaware that my SSD even existed. So for about 1.5 weeks, my computer has been running everything on the HDD, which even the most clueless of computer owners know is not right. It took me 30 seconds of googling to discover the proper procedure to follow in order to actually repair the issue from start to finish, and these guys managed to take about 2 weeks to do it, and they did it wrong. Find somewhere else to get your expensive electronics fixed, because these guys do not know what they are doing. Also the place reeked of sewage.

BACK UP EVERYTHING half the computers I've taken here came back with the hard drives wiped clean. The other half got lost & he doesn't seem motivated to do anything about that. 2. Call before visiting. some shops would call you if there's been a delay. Most will call or email when the work is done. That's not Jimmy's style, so if he told you it would be ready last week, save yourself a trip by calling to make sure. 3. don't bring the charging cable. he's got plenty that will work with most devices & will probably lose yours anyway. 4. be patient James doesn't have a great short term memory & may ask several times what your name is & what brand your computer was & what he was doing to it. maybe put the important info on a notecard affixed to the device. large print. 5. inspect the device before leaving with it. did he put all the screws back in? does it boot up? this could save you a trip or two. 6. Try it yourself first. there are probably a few videos online that explain what you need done. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE YOURSELF! you can do hard things well. if you get stuck or don't have the time, Jimmy's got you. 7. make your device unique Jimmy's got a dozen stacks of silver & black laptops & tablets. put stickers on yours or paint a corner with nail polish. bring it in a neon green box or something.
