We were really impressed by the amount of strawberries today & got some blueberries too! The prices per pound were posted where you purchase your ticket to ride. There is a wonderful market with fresh picked produce, jams, fresh baked goods, fudge, seasonings, etc as well to grab some goodies. Today there was live music, which was great to listen to while eating a burger from the food truck and a flatbread ordered from inside. Other things we'll have to try on our next visit are the homemade ice cream and a wine tasting.

We arrived a little bit early and had lunch at the cafe on-site, which was pretty good, and then we checked in for our tour. What people may not know is that below the gift shop area is where a lot of the barrels and such are. I think our tour guide's name was Ricky and she was very good, I learned a little bit about the distillery. We had chosen the bottle your own experience, which ended up being really unique. At the end of the tour, we got to taste a few of the bourbons, literally from the barrels, and then we got to fill a bottle from one of the open barrels. After that, we put a sticker/the label one, plus one with our name, and another with the back label. Differentiation was encouraged, although we all put them on standardly except for my husband, who had the four of us plus Ricky sign the bottle, which was fun. I believe the tour was $100 each, and just the bottle itself would've been like $80, so for $20 extra, it was a good deal. At the end of the tour, they let us taste a good portion of their wines and other whiskeys and bourbons; I will say their wines were not that great, unfortunately, though there were two that I liked and purchased. They were very generous with the tastings and I don't think there was a maximum number ... I tasted maybe 1/3 of what was on the sheet, aka open for tastings. Overall I would come back here, although I probably wouldn't need to do the tour a second time (it would be fun to see the rickhouses, though).

Located conveniently off of US-22 in Crestwood, you're sure to be charmed by this unique and inviting venue. A recent wedding found me at the mansion, and it was the perfect venue for the outdoor affair on a warm night with a gentle breeze. After a moving ceremony on the outdoor lawn, we moved inside for cocktail hour, where friendly servers offered some delicious appetizers (try the pimento-stuffed cherry tomatoes if they're offered!). After mingling while the wedding party and family took photos, we headed to the tent for the reception. Salads had already been served, and we enjoyed them while listening to stories and toasts. The entree was a buffet-style service, and the brisket is absolutely top notch. If fried chicken is more your thing, theirs is worth trying as well (yes, I got both!) All of the servers were so friendly throughout the evening and made sure everyone's glasses stayed full the whole night. Check out the inside of the mansion while you are there and you'll appreciate the beautiful decorations, including the original wallpaper in some of the rooms! Restrooms were upstairs, and there always seemed to be a line for them throughout the night, so plan accordingly if you're there for an event and know you may need to wait if you overdid it on your water intake. I loved discovering this beautiful venue and hope that you'll soon find yourself there as well!

The mansion is so beautiful and provided such a perfect place for the wedding party to spend the day getting ready with its many spacious rooms and bathrooms. It was also such a lovely place for them to have cocktail hour after the wedding while the pianist entertained on the grand piano. The grounds offer many gorgeous areas for the ceremony as well as the reception in a tent. Bev, the manager at the Waldeck was so great to work with and she was literally everywhere the day of the wedding to make sure we had everything we needed. You really must see the Waldeck Mansion in person to appreciate its beauty and charm. We couldn't recommend it more for your special event.
