I am so in love with proderma! I have recommended to everyone I know to go see Joy to take care of their acne. We are very natural and try to stick to the healthiest options for our family. When my daughter hit 15 and got our first experience with acne of course I took her to the dermatologist. I was not surprised but also not happy when they recommended an antibiotic and strong chemicals for her. A friend gave me Joy at Proderma's number and upon meeting with her I was sold, she was so friendly and knowledgeable. It does come with a decent price tag and she doesn't take insurance so I was a little unsure about that part. So I called my insurance and talked to them about how to do out of network billing myself since a provider didn't take insurance. It was some paperwork but pretty easy and Joy was very helpful with giving me all the codes and paperwork I needed. I ended up getting about 70% reimbursed back to me. So overall I spent way less than I would have in copays and prescriptions had I went the medical route. My daughters face looked 50 percent better within the first week and acne was gone by the 2-3 week mark. The facial treatment are very relaxing and my daughter enjoyed each appointment and actually looked forward to it. As long as your sure to be consistent with the at home protocol and appointments you will be amazed how incredible this program works. I have sent at least 15 people to Proderma and everyone has been just as impressed as I am. I tell Joy every time I talk to her how grateful I am that she created an alternative to taking harsh pharmaceuticals that can come with heavy side effects. I first met Joy when my daughter had a severe acne break out. We had tried everything and nothing worked (including various medications prescribed by her doctor). My son had struggled with mild acne throughout high school and then during his senior year it progressed to a severe case. We tried everything you could buy over the counter and went to two Dermatologist's office and used the prescriptions they gave. We also tried "Spotless" by Rodan and Fields which just made it worse. Nothing was working and it was just awful to watch him go thru this. We finally decided to look for a specialist and that was the BEST DECISION we ever made! Joy and Proderma provide excellent results for teenage acne (or anyone at any age who suffers from it). I have two children who currently see her, one in High School and the other in Middle School; their results have been phenomenal. Joy customizes the products based on an individual's skin and slowly increases the strength of the various products, so there is little redness or peeling. It is not a cookie cutter approach and does not involve any type of antibiotics which dermatologists routinely hand out for acne. Long term antibiotic use has been shown to upset the stomach lining as it destroys the beneficial bacteria along with the bad and can result in antibiotic resistance; definitely not a good thing. The home care routine is fairly simple to follow and comes with specific instructions on what to use and when; compliance really hasn't been an issue with my kids. Too short of a session, handful of extractions and no additional treatment to minimize the damage after extractions. Way too expensive for the treatment you receive. I have longer, more thorough extractions with microdermabrasion, oxygen treatment, high frequency treatment, shoulder massage and some chest extractions at my new esthetician for 70$ in Dana point.
