OxiFresh was my ride-or-die back when I lived there -- their cleaning is genuinely stellar, no notes. But oh boy, did Corporate have other plans for me. I called the franchise location directly and got connected to what I can only describe as a human answering machine with a script and zero problem-solving skills. She asked for my zip code, discovered I was ONE town over from their service area, and essentially said "not my problem" with a smile in her voice. Fine. I escalated to their big, shiny nationwide toll-free number -- you know, the one that implies they can help anyone, anywhere. Same song, different robot. And when I asked if they could at least point me toward someone who could help? Crickets. Loud, echoing, maddening crickets. So here I am, managing a 2,500-mile gap, a time zone difference, and a corporate policy so rigid it apparently can't bend one zip code for a loyal customer. I eventually found a local mom-and-pop shop that's been in business for 38+ years -- and shockingly, they acted like they actually wanted my business. Imagine that! They raked the first layer and put it in bags and hauled them away, put antimicrobial fogger, lime was distributed throughout the whole basement and the old 12 foot sewer pipe (that was left behind by the contractors that replaced the pipe) was cut into pieces and hauled away. They came and did a great job and one of the best parts was they could not have been nicer. It was a big foul smelling mess and they cleaned it up and restored it.
