Left the shop like 30 mins ago, can't say enough good things about this place...but I'll sum it up into 3 qualities of a dope barbershop: 1) Great service, 2) Great conversation & 3) Great cut I'm in Oakland for a wedding this weekend so I made an appointment for a 9am cut & I was seen immediately at 9. Lalo was my barber - he walked me through each part of my cut since I wanted to start a combover. He told me how to maintain it with pomade so it grows in the right way, & we had good convo about a bunch of stuff. Overall, just a very good dude who's nice with the clippers. He took his time with the cut, lined me up to a tee & left me CLEAN! Can't get much more out of a barber. I took my 2 boys(5&3) for a cut today. Marcus did great wonders on Evan's hair(3). He took his time and did not rush even though there were a couple of people waiting. If you know me then you know I don't mind paying $50 for a SIMPLE haircut. The cut could be lackluster but if the service is right and I feel welcomed I will pay for the overall experience. My hair is sensitive to stress and needless to say IM STRESSING. I called before I came so that I wouldn't rush anybody and it was a Tuesday so I know it would've been less crowded. I get in the shop and see the barber I spoke with and could tell he didn't want to cut me. He will remain nameless. I felt the inside jokes. I felt the bad vibes. A barbershop is SUPPOSED to be a place of refuge for men of color. A place where we can "let our hair down". I work in the investment banking world where it's already high stress. Tried some spots in Oakland and SL but none were up to par and the cost was between $17-$20...heavy on my pocket given I cut my hair on a weekly basis. gave up on my search and started cutting my own hair until recently when I had shoulder surgery and couldn't do it. Found this spot and gave it a shot. Best pick ever! Not everybody knows how to do that perfect fade were in blends into longer hair the fade goes up, but Lalo hooked it up! Brought my Son here to get his Hair Cut July 3rd, 2014. 3 Chairs working today I wasn't going to get cut until I observed a Barber Dressed to Kill cutting hair in my sitting view. I decided to get a cut too. I went to the Barber that was Dressed to Kill later found out his name is Johnny. Johnny reminded me of that Old School Brother my Father use to take me to when I was a Young Boy (He Had Class). Johnies Razors were the SHARPEST I've ever Experienced! I like them Sharp! Plus, as I was waiting, I noticed Johnny continued to Disinfect his Tools/Razors. Im sure the other Barbers were as good however Johnny had that Style you dont get to see at the Barber Shop often. I don't know anything about barbershops, but I have brought my 82-year-old father here about three or four times since we relocated him to the Bay Area. Johnny gives him a good cut, takes care of his moustache and a few chin hairs, and very importantly, engages with my father while he cuts. Lalo taught my father (who is unsteady after being in the hospital and non-weight-bearing for four months) how to get in and out of the chair without his walker. Marcus makes him laugh with his stories, jokes, and facial expressions. And every now and again, they turn up the music and dance. I suppose I could take him anywhere to get a haircut, but these men respect their clients a great deal (protip for the kids: don't swear, especially in front of seniors, or you might get your ear torn off) and every head I've seen looks better leaving than they did coming. It means a lot to me that my father enjoys himself while we wait, and he always leaves a little happier. Thanks! read more

I been coming to Professional Touch for over 3yrs now and they are the real deal hands down! I been cut by everyone in the shop and they all got mad hands! I go to Dame to get cut now and my dude has became my family along with everyone else there too they make you feel welcome unlike a lot of other shops around this area! I hear people complaining about "damn man theirs cuts are 25$ that's way too much", well listen up, if you want a PROFESSIONAL cut you will cash out that 25$ no problem, if you got an issue wit that then go pay 10$ and wait in line for 2hours before you get in the chair and get yo self that weak/mediocre hair cut and while your doing so feel like your not even wanted at the shop like the man cuttin it don't even want too cut you and just wants your doe. Every time I go get cut my dudes focus and take their time and make everything precise wit no flaws at all! I got mad love and respect for each one of my brodys in there. Period!
