I showed up today, after confirming that they were taking appointments. While restrictions have been lifted and people can be in the same place with social distancing guidelines, the receptionist sent me outside in 100 degree weather to wait. I'm not sure why, I had a mask on. I asked if I could use the restroom and she showed me where the key was. I have never been here before and found myself wandering around a hallway outside the salon, not having any idea where it was. I had just driven an hour to get here. So I used the restroom and then went out and sat in my car for 20 minutes and had to call to see when I could come in. THEN....when I was in the chair, another one of the clients walked in and just sat down. Not sure why the rules didn't apply to her. She wasn't asked to wait outside. I wouldn't come back here. I really loved the hairdresser Susie and I am thrilled with my hair, but to be asked to wait outside on a day where it's 100 degrees, when it's not busy and there are safe places to sit inside, is ridiculous. Then don't be open or let your clients know. Being sent to wait outside like a dog sucks. ------------------------------------------------- I'm deleting a star based on the salon response. No acknowledgement that they had others waiting and were OUT OF COMPLIANCE and no sincere apology, especially from the owner. I own two business and operate 3. After seeing her name in most of these posts, I had my own little conspiracy theory going on...but it's TRUE! She knows hair and has saved the day for me. (Through my prying I learned this is her 18th year doing hair!) I printed out pictures of a textured haircut to replace my overgrown, style-less look with. She looked at them and knew exactly what to do. I asked for the weight to be cut out of it, since I have so much freaking hair. I wanted a lighter feel, something I could tease with texture for a funky sexy look I asked her to keep my length, which is at the middle of my back. Girls, how many times have you asked this only to find all your hair chopped off in the end?? She TOTALLY saved my length, and managed to texture the hell out of it. It looks awesome. My haircut was $50 which is very reasonable! I will be back to her for sure. I hate to keep tooting the Christine horn because there's probably other great stylists there but check out the picture I added, she rocked! I have curly hair, and after reading the amazing reviews of Christine I thought I would try her out. I came in with my dated, limp, shapeless mop of curls and walked out with an AMAZING cut. The thing about Christine is that she has excellent style and taste. I could tell she knew exactly what needed to be done to revive my curls and told her to "go crazy" and do what she thought needed to be done. She told me she would flat iron my hair in the end in order to texturize it properly. I asked her if it would be ok to come back for some touch up snips if it turned out that the haircut wouldn't sit right curly later on. (some parts of my hair are curlier then others creating an uneven look with some cuts) With out a pause she agreed. Heavenly. I can't say how many "straight cuts" end up looking horrible on me later when the curls return. Turns out it's the best haircut I have had in years, styled curly or straight. I would recommend her to anyone. So relieved to finally have found a gem in the SFV. Going to tell all my friends about her. Good price too. Cheryl "got" me and - more importantly - she understood my hair! She gave me a soothing wash, a blow dry that didn't add to the frizzy tendencies of my hair, and she gave me the best salon style I've had; it was exactly what I wanted! This salon was incredible. I was running a few minutes late and when I called, they had no problem. Once I got there, Cheryl greeted with a smile and comforting attitude (which made me feel better even though I was late). Cheryl was sure to ask exactly how I wanted my hair to be cut and reassured me that she is a conservative cutter (which alleviated some anxiety since I've had terrible hair experiences before). She was patient and very talkative, she also took her time with me. I really appreciated this because some stylists just want to get as many people in their chair as possible, but Cheryl was sure to be 100% focused on my wants and giving me a great salon experience. The salon was well kept, even though it was undergoing remodeling - it was nevertheless in great shape. Clean, bright and upbeat! Cheryl mentioned the next time I go in, it would look completely different. For a cut with a blow dry, it was $50 and I was there for about 2 hours. ***Be sure to bring cash/check for tipping*** It was a little difficult to find the salon with the parking; if you are driving from Business Center, you will make a left into the building lot (labeled 19350) but continue on the narrow street and you will drive past it, but once you park, at least you will know which suite it is! Arpi is a lifesaver! I had the misfortune of trusting the coloring of my virgin, grizzled hair to a local stylist, who assured me of great results. She botched the color job, and I was referred to Arpi by my mother, whose color Arpi does beautifully. Arpi effected nothing short of alchemy on my hair color, taking it from abysmal to amazing! I month ago a paid a lot at a different salon to get my hair done and it didn't come out like I had envisioned. I thought I would grow to like it but decided I couldn't go walking around unhappy about my hair. So I did a yelp search and found Profiles. Everyone on here raves about Christine so I asked for her but she was not available. I decided to give it a try anyway and scheduled with Alfred. Alfred did a superb job! My hair came out just like I wanted! He listened to my concerns and wants and got it perfect! I will definitely go back. I cannot tell you how many stylists have not gotten the color I wanted and some of them have even given me rationales for why it can't be done. Well, Alfred proved them wrong. I also liked that he didn't try to push products on me like most other places do. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars from me was because the receptionist could take more ownership of her post. As the face of the salon and person 1st time clients like myself come into contact with initially, it would be great if she welcomed you and made you feel comfortable. It was another stylist, who noticed this was not done, that offered me coffee, magazines, and showed me where to get changed. Also, it would be helpful for the salon to indicate cash tips only on the website. They charged it for me as a first time customer but i am worried Alfred may not see it for a while as the receptionist mentioned something about taxes. read more

Don't know why we've never reviewed this spot.. My fiancé has been going to Darlene for years now for cuts and color. She was actually the first one she went to when she first decided to go blonde (from dark-dark brown). Dar could see that she was a bit hesitant/scared about such a drastic change, that she recommended she highlight her hair first, to see if blonde is really something she'd be happy with... Anyway long story short, that fist "blonde" job was maybe three years ago, her most recent was this past Saturday and she still feels as happy as she did the first time she went to Dar! So much so, that this last time she went was actually a surprise, but she knew she was in great hands so she told her to just "do what she thought she needed". And Dar did just that and gave her a great new look that my fiancée loves and would not have came up with on her own. This is one service I don't mind paying for! I've had three haircuts in the past year and the last one was with Profiles. Alfred was my stylist and I must admit that I was apprehensive at first. If you ever just saw him on the street, you wouldn't think he did women's hair. Despite any superficial doubts you may have about him though, he has given me the best haircut I have ever had in my life. I came in with some pictures and he copied them pretty accurately. From there he made sure to take into consideration any other additional thoughts I had and by the end of the session I was really happy. To be honest, for the cleanly and charming environment that the store provides and the quality of service, I didn't think they were overpriced at all. I went there for the first time last weekend to get my hair dyed and cut. Cheryl did a great job. I absolutely love the color and the cut is exactly what I wanted. I have very thick, wavy and damaged hair and she knew exactly how to handle it. The salon is very clean and nice. The only negative for me is the price, I am not used to paying so much for hair, however, when comparing with other salons in the area, it was reasonable. Profiles is a wonderful place - a diamond in the rough Valley. I usually don't enjoy getting my hair cut - I have thick, curly hair and very damaged from the sun and seawater. I probably go to a salon 1-2 times a year so it can be embarrassing to show up to someone and say "FIX THIS PLEASE". I moved to the Valley a few years ago and found this place via YELP - I haven't gone anywhere since. I have had 3 different people there and each of them has done a wonderful job. They don't pressure you to buy products, upsell their service, gossip, ask about boys, or make comments like "a girl has to choose between her tennis shoes and high heels." They are very friendly people and I've recommended to my friends with similar hair types - they've all enjoyed their experiences. My most recent experience was with Cheryl - she was very warm, did exactly what I wanted, and knew exactly how to tame my hair. We had great conversations! She cut my hair and two of my friends in the same evening. She didn't rush through anyone, she gave us all different looks, and was so sweet to us. I highly recommend this place to all hair types and warm atmosphere. I do request that they stop using styrofoam cups though.... consider other less wasteful products to serve to customers. read more
