BEST service and honesty I have ever experienced with a mechanic shop! After having significant…read moredamage done to my vehicle at another shop when attempting to get an oil change done, Christian Brothers Automotive was caring and compassionate from the beginning. They were quick to assess the damage done and take pictures in order to document all that was wrong. When the owner of the other shop refused to take responsibility for the damages, Christian Brothers Automotive helped me to reach out to the owner and even offered for the other shop owner to view my car under their watchful eye! When that did not work and I was still deciding how to move forward, Christian Brothers Automotive offered to keep my car at their shop and every single night they locked the car inside their shop to ensure its safety. They continued to check in on my progress with no pressure to make any decisions and also continued to offer advice and assistance. This was above and beyond anything I expected. After my car sitting at Christian Brothers Automotive for 3 entire weeks, I finally made some progress with being able to figure out how to get the owner of the old shop to take some responsibility. While the matter is still being figured out, Christian Brothers Automotive fixed my car and even checked in a week later to ensure I was happy with the car and that it was running well. I have nothing but positive feedback for this amazing company and fantastic location! The location owner Paul clearly cares about maintaining an honest business in which individuals feel they are able to learn about what is going on with their cars and make informed decisions. And his service manager Joe is compassionate and provides assistance without even being asked. Finally, the mechanic Tony who fixed my car was informative and very efficient. Overall, the entire staff was a pleasure to work with and I felt very comfortable with their entire store! I hope more people use them for their car needs because I want them to stay in business a very very long time!

They wanted to flush and seal and replace other item that was not requested and very much not necessary. I denied . Asked if my suspension was OK for upcoming trip. Got home there was no coolant in my reservoir !!! I would have driven around, thinking my car had extra fluid in the reservoir and did not. I put in a half a gallon of coolant that I happen to have at the house. Not to mention, I paid for two jugs of coolant. They did not mention the previous quote for work that I needed done on my engine at all. Everything else was fine, so they said. The courtesy ride was not offered with me until after I dropped my car off, and that was if they had time. This was my fourth time at this shop and I was really happy with them and how thorough they checked out my car. This time I felt like it was under a different management and the care previously was no longer. I put my faith and trust in your shop. While in another state visiting, I took my car to my brother, who is a licensed mechanic, and found two engine gasket leaks, and some issues with my suspension.

I went in for a free inspection to get my ac checked and I feel like I was given misleading and dishonest information. I was told my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee required the newer, more expensive YF (R-1234yf) refrigerant and that it could cost around $500 just to recharge the freon, but I would have to pay 169 for an ac diagnosis to see if it's a leak or anything else. However, my understanding is that this type of refrigerant is typically used in 2017 and newer vehicles, which immediately raised a red flag. They also claimed my oil was "very low" and that I had an oil leak but that would be a different diagnosis cost because they would have to degrease the engine and find the leak. Them not knowing that I just got the engine leak fixed from the housing. They showed me a picture of a completely dry dipstick, but it looked like it may not have been properly checked (as in, not re-dipped after wiping). To be sure, I went to Grease Monkey for a second opinion, and my oil level was completely full. Additionally, they recommended multiple repairs and services, including replacing the front lower control arm, flushing "dirty" brake fluid, replacing both air filters, and changing front and rear wiper blades. I just bought new blades and I had someone look at the picture and where they pointed to sayin my front lower control arm was torn/cracked and was told that it was a ball joint and it was fine according to the picture and if my steering wheel isn't shaking or I'm not hearing a noise I have nothing to worry about. My blades also work fine and given the incorrect oil diagnosis, it makes me question the accuracy and honesty of all these recommendations. Their future recommendations stated to replace the shocks and struts they said they were worn and based off age and mileage they should be replaced every 50,000 miles. I strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any repairs here. This experience felt misleading and eroded my trust completely.

Grease Monkey - This is a great auto service place! Right off of Weber Rd, just south of I-55, ask for Bill!

They run an honest business and truly deliver VIP-level service every time. My entire family takes our cars there because we know we can trust them. Bill and his team have a wealth of knowledge, take the time to explain things clearly, and genuinely care about their customers. It's also great supporting a veteran-owned business. Thank you for your service, Bill, and thank you for always taking such great care of our vehicles!

Okay, so it's actually BILL + the mechanics who run a tight ship here at the Grease Monkey on Normantown Rd. This is an A-Team of friendly professionals that can handle almost any job, big or small. They can guarantee an oil change in under 30 minutes. Some sh*t happened to my poor Mazda a couple months ago and I had to have it towed for repair. Although it took a few days, they were able to replace a new ball joint and they charged me a reasonable amount for parts & labor. Fast forward to now, and I'm getting a standard oil & filter change. When they rang me up, I mentioned that the owner had said he'd "help me out" next time I came in. At first I got some blank stares, but after a few minutes of deliberation they came back and dropped the price from $101 to $86. This beat the $5 off online coupon, so I'm glad I asked. I'm not sure they topped off any fluids (brake, wiper) and my car's interior definitely hadn't been vacuumed. I already knew their car wash was out-of-order, so I didn't expect a sparkling exterior. On the other hand....I'd much rather save 15% on my bill and clean the car on my own time. * TL;DR * Honest, thorough, and they'll have you back on the road in a jiffy. If you need car work done, head over to Grease Monkey in Romeoville, not the Bolingbrook location on Boughton (who once fed me some pretty glaring misinformation about my broken-down car, requiring it to get towed a second time). As others have mentioned, Bill is a genuine dude. His team works TIRE-lessly to provide solid customer service, and in an industry where tons of people are overcharged and taken advantage of, you won't encounter that here. Great experience, I'll definitely encourage my wife and others to bring their business to this Grease Monkey.
