Okay, so it's actually BILL + the mechanics who run a tight ship here at the Grease Monkey on Normantown Rd. This is an A-Team of friendly professionals that can handle almost any job, big or small. They can guarantee an oil change in under 30 minutes. Some sh*t happened to my poor Mazda a couple months ago and I had to have it towed for repair. Although it took a few days, they were able to replace a new ball joint and they charged me a reasonable amount for parts & labor. Fast forward to now, and I'm getting a standard oil & filter change. When they rang me up, I mentioned that the owner had said he'd "help me out" next time I came in. At first I got some blank stares, but after a few minutes of deliberation they came back and dropped the price from $101 to $86. This beat the $5 off online coupon, so I'm glad I asked. I'm not sure they topped off any fluids (brake, wiper) and my car's interior definitely hadn't been vacuumed. I already knew their car wash was out-of-order, so I didn't expect a sparkling exterior. On the other hand....I'd much rather save 15% on my bill and clean the car on my own time. * TL;DR * Honest, thorough, and they'll have you back on the road in a jiffy. If you need car work done, head over to Grease Monkey in Romeoville, not the Bolingbrook location on Boughton (who once fed me some pretty glaring misinformation about my broken-down car, requiring it to get towed a second time). wow!!!!! The moment I pulled up into the bay, I had 4 team members come to help me. I'm sorry I do not have all of their names but I do have their initials on my receipt ( dr ag kc ) they took a tag team approach. As soon as I opened the door, they told me the type of oil my car would need (and they were correct!) i swear it took less than 5 minutes for them to complete the service. During the short span Of time I waited, I was greeted by the owner of the shop, who was so kind and friendly. You can tell he truly cares about his staff and customers and is not out to deceive people. After the oil change was completed, they vacuumed the car and offered a complimentary wash that I could redeem today or in the future. The cost of the service was reasonable, too. My car had about 2 immediate issues that needed to be rectified. I initially went to a grease monkey in Bolingbrook but they didn't seem to know what parts were needed to fix the vehicle. I then went to a nearby muffler shop across the street there. They were quoting $500+. So I went to the Romeoville GMonkey and I'm impressed that the job was done in record time even though there was at least 3 cars ahead of me on a Saturday morning. Even if for just a car wash, they are always so quick and great! Bill even let me know of a recent Ford recall on my vehicle and let me know when I'd have to go in by, if it weren't for him, I would have missed the window and would have had to pay the dealership out of pocket for what needed to be done. I went to the dealership and Bill was exactly right, they replaced my clutch for free. Joey is also great at grease monkey! The guys are always very quick service, in and out, no appointment needed. I've taken my car here twice (2 separate things I needed replaced on my car) and both times I was incredibly happy with everything! The owner Bill is the nicest and he's very thorough in his work. I used to have a family friend and trusted mechanic work on my car for the longest time, but he moved and I can no longer get his services. I am EXTREMELY particular where I bring my car because now I expect excellent quality work with a low price. I brought my car to this particular grease monkey just for an oil change because they were cheap, offered a car wash, and were in my work area. The owner could not have been nicer. I had my check engine light on, and he offered to just read me the codes for free (not an actual diagnostic). I then had a problem with my crankshaft sensor which was detrimental to my car. I felt I had nowhere to go so I called GM. They were CHEAP, FAST, and my car run almost brand new! The owner even offered to give me a ride back to my car on his down time, but I didn't want him to have to use his break to do that. Overall, they are very reasonable, friendly, and cost efficient! I have been going here for my oil changes for years, even getting my front breaks replaced. In general they do a good job, if they do something wrong ( forgetting to replace one of my break lights) they will admit it. My last visit was a lapse in judgment, the owner admitted it was so, but it was a lapse in integrity as well. I dropped my car off to do some warranty repair work and found out they took my car for a drive. A 20 mile drive. I am that person who takes pictures of the odometer and resets the drive A odometer when they drop off a car to a mechanic. When I got my car back, I noticed how many miles were driven and that my AC was turned all they way down. Someone got very comfortable in my car. Yes Bill put gas in my car, almost 2 gallons, but still this should not have happened. When a customer drops off their car, they are entrusting the people to respect your property and to work with integrity. They did not so I have to take my business elsewhere. To all of their customers, if you have to leave your car, take pictures of the odometer before and after to keep them honest. read more
