Slow to respond for a quote request. Didn't seem to know what we wanted. Simple request.

I discovered three fraudulent charges on my debit card and reported them the same day they…read moreoccurred. It's been two weeks and I've heard nothing from the 167th FCU. No new debit card and the fraudulent charges are still there. Absolutely unacceptable. I've since opened a checking account elsewhere and changed my direct deposit to the new account. As soon as the 167th does something about these fraudulent charges I will close the account and never do business with these people again. Update: I received a rather condescending voice mail today from Daisy. She said my card was ready on the 16th. (Why no one told me I don't know). She also said nothing was done about the fraudulent charges because I haven't come in person to fill out a piece of paper. Good Lord! What is this the 1990s?! They won't protect you from fraudulent charges unless you visit in person and fill out a piece of paper! When I hear "167th TFCU" I think of words like Archaic, obsolete, 30 years behind, condescending, smart-ass, and let's go somewhere else.

I had an account at Capitol Cement Credit Union that I set up for my 4-year old granddaughter. She…read moreand I were the ONLY ones listed on the signature card. Ronnie Hess of Capitol Cement Credit Union wrote a check to someone else out of our shared account in 2008 --- to someone who was not listed on the account. I was not notified of this withdrawal, and I only found out about it after the credit union was acquired by 167th Federal Credit Union. When I discovered in February 2011 that $200 was missing from the account, I asked the 167th Federal Credit Union to return our funds to our account. I was essentially told "Tough luck, you didn't catch our mistake in time, and it's your problem, not the credit union's." This is the treatment that they give to a loyal customer of over 10 years. The customer service and attitude of the staff at 167th Federal Credit Union was terrible at best and they should be ashamed. When I complained to the NCUA, I was told that WV law says the customer has one year to catch and report any errors, so the credit union is not legally liable for their mistake since over a year had gone by. I made the mistake of trusting that my credit union would not be writing any checks from my granddaughter's account to any third parties not listed on the account. Her money was stolen, an entity of the 167th Federal Credit Union facilitated the theft, and now they refuse to take responsibility for that theft. They've essentially told my little granddaughter to go pound sand. If you have an account with them, or are considering opening an account with them, remember this: If they can do this to a little girl and get away with it, they can do it to you, too.
