He listened and understood my situation, reviewed my system, walked me through his findings, taught me a few things about my system, and provided options that fit my needs. He isn't the first person to give me a quote, but working with him was a breath of fresh air and I appreciated his expertise and transparency. However I was told at the time that there would be a $2000 tax rebate for that AC and I should call in January and the company would give me the information I need to file the taxes. I have called FOUR different numbers several times and have left EIGHT messages and still no one has replied! I am beginning to think this was a lie to persuade me to buy their product. A friend referred me to Steve who had a good experience with this company. What stood out was the professionalism of Steve (GM), Ron (installer), Andres (installer) and Jesus (installer). They cleaned up every night and left the home in the same condition or better than what they started the shift. The did solid work and i didn't see them cut any corners and their work went above my expectations. Details were not overlooked and they communicated well. Each team member had their specific strength and they worked together well as a team to get the job completed. They took pictures during the installation too to capture before and after. One oh by the way.... when they were testing the system, i closed the door because i thought it was getting cool in the evening but in reality, the AC was pumping in the house. it was so quiet, i didn't realize it was running. We had a wonderful experience with Progressive heating and air. It was very easy to schedule an appointment. They were immediately responsive to our call . Steve, the GM, came out to diagnose and repair our AC. He didn't upsell me on what was needed for my repair. We have three AC units. He replaced two parts on the broken one, replaced one part on the second one as it appeared it would go down in the near future, and determined that the third unit was in good working order. Thankfully, the ac was up and running and cooled down the house, on a very hot day, in a reasonable amount of time. Steve also installed a safety shut off valve on my furnace which was apparently never done by the original installer even though it was code to do so. I feel their pricing was very reasonable. Progressive installed our HVAC 5 years ago and when our unit stopped working Lot came out and inspected. I was expecting the worst but he said it was just a blown fuse. He checked out the rest of the system and recommended some maintenance to keep the unit in top shape (he added to the notes on the file as I wasn't interested in doing it today). My introduction to the company was with Steve, who came to my home to discuss what was needed and to give me an estimate. He's a really nice guy who's straightforward and honest. The installers, Lot, Alonzo and William were amazing - considerate of my home, extremely knowledgeable and the nicest guys you could have spending two days in your home doing the install. I only have good things to say about my experience with Progressive. Adrian, the owner, created a business where his customers are treated well with fair prices, excellent work and no upselling. Amazing company. I had another company do semi annual maintenance. After they left, my unit wasn't working and my compressor exploded. Told them what happened and they said it would be over a week before they could replace what they possibly damaged. Progressive offered new and better quality compressor, and installed it the next day for cheaper! Didn't have to wait a week in the heat. They also offered to tear down old unit and determine if it failed on its own, or poor maintenance/assembly by other company caused it. I don't want to do business with companies that do this. We go to YELP and other sites to check out businesses for their professionality and reviews. They are annoying and will never get my business. I have registered with https://www.donotcall.gov/ several times, but these businesses seem to figure out new ways to break the law. Phenonomial company with excellent customer service. Steve called ahead of his arrival with an ETA, which was a nice touch since it was an early morning appointment. He arrived as he stated he would and got right to work. He was extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. Steve went above and beyond helping me to repair my very old AC compressor. Amazing Service by James with the dazzling eyes. Was in a true heat emergency as our AC went kaput during this latest heatwave. Slept inside with windows open in a balmy 83 indoor heat with no AC on. Horrible! Called and did research and ended up getting a same day service call. Showed up on time and was super helpful as my breaker was tripped and he turned it back on and it worked immediately. I checked the breaker 7-8 times and electrician put in a shoddy 2 piece combined breaker. This has a metal clip which carries all 4 but often times gets in the way. He recommended o get breaker replaced and did not charge. I offered cash but in looking to get my help he said a good review goes a long way. They are a VERY good company and not scammers. I would have given him my firstborn if I was able. Truly life saver as our temps at 92 at the beach which means it's sweltering everywhere. My AC is currently cooling down the house before I have a heatstroke ! read more

This is long overdue - this is an amazing team, with highest quality customer service and excellent prices. I live on the bottom floor of a 1970s era condo. The AC and blower were extremely old, and the drip pan rusted through after our first summer living there, so needed to replace everything. These guys handled EVERYTHING. Removing the old blower, fixing the orientation since new ones are quite a bit different, the crane to remove the old unit on the roof, electrical troubleshooting, I mean EVERYTHING. They were responsive, polite, and knowledgeable. I was so happy to get this project done since the heat is no joke in La Mesa throughout summertime. I have a yearly membership with Progressive and when it was time for the furnace filter to be replaced their technician Lot showed up on time and replaced it for us. We are both disabled and cannot get into our attic where the furnace is located. My only concern was that it takes a 4" filter and a 2" was installed so a technician will need to come back in about 4 months to replace it again. Progressive saved the day last year for an emergency service so when offered a $69 A/C tune-up special this month, I accepted. Steve arrived as scheduled and promptly got to work. I truly appreciated his explanation of the various mechanical and electrical inspection points. Here's the best part, I have a rather geriatric (20yrs old) 5 ton system at my home and expressed that we were moving in about two years so we wanted to see what preventative actions we could take to keep this monster going. After a thorough test and inspection, Steve found a failing contactor and an under performing capacitor which improved our HVAC fan/motor startup. While no one loves a repair bill, Steve quoted an honest price for minor repair/replacement parts needed and at a price that saved what could have been a future emergency visit when the heat cranks up this summer. He took his time to troubleshoot/testing and told us immediately along the way what he found and what the cause and potential options were for each. He gave us tips for proper operation and extending the life of the units. He had to go out to find a component that was defective and returned promptly. My thermostat had lost power, so I called Progressive to come check it out. I had a feeling it was something simple, like a fuse, but had no idea what to look for. I had a 3:00 appointment, but James called me at 12:15 to let me know he was available early if I was. He arrived 15 minutes later. Upon first glance at the furnace, James immediately knew what the issue was. The furnace cover was ajar, having been moved by people I'd had at my house assessing the property for a major remodel. He simply secured the furnace cover, then tested the A/C to make sure all was good. James did not charge me for the visit, which was much appreciated.
