I've had service with them several times throughout the years. I actually did end up signing up for the membership plan to get a discount on some larger replacements/maintenance I needed. I would consider the the plan more just prepaying certain services. They come check out AC and furnace twice a year. They now also include a plumbing inspection and water tank flush once a year which isn't a lot but convenient cuz I'm lazy. I see a lot of the bad reviews are about upselling and mention the home Depot deal. Found them through Google a couple years ago and not home Depot so I'm not sure if they send different people or what. With the plan they have been pretty consistent with calling and making sure I don't forget to do my scheduled maintenance and inspection. For a long time a guy name Justin came by the service me so they're always pretty consistent. Now it's switching over to Willie after a couple of years. For the service itself, they do take lots of pictures, explain things in details and show how your system is running objectively. They do help explain things in layman's terms if you're not familiar with it so the techs themselves are pretty good. Overall I would recommend for a customer focused experience that's pretty convenient. read more

Horrible INITIAL call.. Called to request new installation and I got A.I. Disguised with typing and voices in the background to DECEIVE and simulate a real person with others talking in the background. Then after this BS I finally got that damn fake A.I. BS to transfer me to a person only to get someone who is NOT an employee but "Part of their remote scheduling"...again no one from the company. Frustrated and moving on will find another local San Diego AC heating company and give my business to someone who wants to pick the phone up and talk. He took his time evaluating the work and talked to us about options, but we never felt pressured. The membership also gives us discounts, which are great on big jobs like this. Improper sales tactics IMO. Same day heating and air conditioning came out for service call, we received a quote ranging between $20-25k. Technician suggested signing up for membership now to get a 10% discount should we move forward with HVAC replacement, and it would be refunded if we decided not to move forward. To our surprise it's a recurring monthly $12.99 fee that's charged even though we did not move forward with this company. We've now been charged $99 for the service call and $12.99 TWICE. Getting the refund and cancel "membership" is almost impossible. A lot of obstacles! Dispute has been filed with the CC company. Be advised, we did indeed move forward (with a different company) with an entire new HVAC system that was $10k LESS than their quote. Be wise and around! Don't go with a company that has "service plan sales pitches". read more

About a year ago our Daikin ductless mini split stopped blowing cold air. We called the company we purchased it from and they sent out a tech to fix the problem. About one year later we had the same problem! Apparently the tech just recharged the refrigerant without actually sealing where it was leaking. Sort of like kicking the can down the road. This time we called Same Day. They were prompt, despite this being their busiest time of year, and sent out their great tech Elias. He found the leak fairly quickly, sealed it, and recharged the system with refrigerant. All at a very competitive price! read more

Called Same Day when my 28 year old AC gave up and so far I have no regrets. Alan was the technician who initially diagnosed my issue and explained the challenge, the coolant was no longer legal in CA. Alan was very knowledgeable and I never felt pressured. Concerns with my gas heater led me to decide to replace all. Michael came out to speck a new system. He did a thorough walk through and we reviewed options. I never felt pressured. BTW, this was not through Home Depot. I settled on a Daikin heat pump & return air. The following week Moises and Gilbert showed up to install. In one day they removed my old units and installed new system. It worked great when they left but 45 minutes later an error displayed on my new thermostat. Moises and Gilbert returned the next day and did some troubleshooting. Thought they had found the problem and left with the unit running. Ten minutes after they left it errored out again. Came back a third time and meticulously traced all lines outside, in the attic and under my house. Apparently the drain pipes in my almost 60 year old home were no longer at an adequate angle to properly expell the excess water. I thought I was going to have to engage a plumber. But Moises and Gilbert cleverly solved the problem by installing a small pump on the unit. They did not charge me for this and it was well after 6:00 pm when they left. If not for their tenacity and creativity I'm not sure where I would be. It's well over a week and my system is running great! I'm very happy with my new unit and very, very happy with all the tech's involved, especially Moises and Gilbert! read more

I regret writing this review because I never want to negatively affect someone's business. However, I believe prospective customers deserve to know about our experience with Same Day Heating, Cooling & Plumbing. We purchased a new HVAC system from this company about two years ago for approximately $15,000. Since then, the system has repeatedly failed, requiring more than ten service calls. Most recently, the system stopped working and was repaired after two days, only to fail again shortly afterward. It broke again on a Friday, and despite calling immediately, a technician did not come until Monday. Our family endured four days without air conditioning during a heat wave, with indoor temperatures reaching about 88 degrees. This was especially difficult with young grandchildren and a senior family member in our home. The company promotes "Same Day" service, but that has not been our experience. After more than ten service calls in only two years, I am seeking a legal advice. read more

We had our annual Same Day Plumbing and HVAC check ups this week, and, as in the past, servicing was done expertly and professionally. Both Jesse Puga (plumbing) and Justin Miller (HVAC) conducted thorough investigations, photographed their findings, and provided us with clear and concise explanations of findings and recommendations. All was well with the plumbing and Jesse did the annual flush. Justin found the AC fluid low and a capacitor worn and topped up the AC fluid and replaced the capacitor, and recommended steps to keep everything running smoothly. We remain very pleased with Same Day's service and will continue annual inspections, and, of course, call them for any problems. read more

AVOID - Textbook High-Pressure Sales Tactics Started with broken promises: Same Day rep at Home Depot said the inspection included filter replacement. Tech arrives and suddenly, no--I needed to supply my own filter. Should've been my first red flag. After 20 minutes of banging around, the tech emerged with his scare-tactic playbook. Claim #1: Gas leak (conveniently "not an emergency" though). Claim #2: Rust on my CO sensor. When I pointed out that the white spots in his photos weren't rust--since rust is, you know, reddish-brown--he doubled down and condescendingly asked "if I knew what rust is." Here's the kicker: My condenser was replaced last summer with zero issues reported. No rust. No gas leak. Nothing. Now suddenly I need $5,000 in repairs? I requested the estimate and photos he'd shown me. That was [timeframe]. Still waiting. Radio silence. Classic bait-and-switch operation: Low-cost inspection gets you in the door, fabricated "emergencies" try to scare you into thousands in unnecessary repairs, then they ghost when you ask for documentation. Get a second opinion from a reputable company. Better yet, skip Same Day entirely and save yourself the hassle. We had Same Day Heating, Cooling and Pluming come over to inspector our air conditioning unit and furnace yesterday. We met with Chris Gomez. Chris was very thorough and provided many detailed photos of both units. Based on the photos, there were burn marks on the circuit board of the furnace. The duct work of the furnace was kinked and that caused the heat to build up that caused a crack in the furnace. It was clear that we needed to do something about it. Chris phone Adrian Amador and Adrian was able to come over within 20 minutes. Adrian discussed the situation with us and gave us options and we decided to replace the whole unit. Same Day would also put in a new duct which was the problem that caused the crack. The price Adrian gave us was fair and reasonable. He also helped us to apply for the 12 months same as cash offer. Today at 8:30 AM Moises Corona and Axel came to install our new furnace. They were very conscience of our home and put down drop cloths and removed the old furnace and replaced it with a brand new one. I also saw the new big duct that they installed. The job went very well. They were efficient and were finished by noon. Moises also provided many photos of the completed job and even a video! I have been very impressed with the quality of service technicians and communication with Same Day Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. From the repair that Chris Gomez did for us, to Adrian Amador coming over to our house so quickly and giving us a reasonable price and helping us obtain financing, to the installation crew of Moises Corona and Axel; everyone was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything to us the whole way. We don't think each part of this transaction could have gone any better! We will definitely be recommending Same Day Heating, Cooling and Plumbing to our friends! I originally contacted Same Day Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing through Home Depot about a year and a half ago. The initial appointment went fine -- the technician assessed my HVAC unit, recommended some maintenance (which was pricey but seemed reasonable), and I went ahead with the work. At that time, I also signed up for their annual/loyalty program. In February, they came out for the annual checkup, and everything was supposedly in good shape. Fast forward to May when we first turned on the HVAC for the season -- it wasn't cooling at all. I called Same Day, and they sent a tech out quickly, which I appreciated. But I was shocked when I was told that the unit likely needed to be replaced, or I could pay $2,500 for a fix that wasn't expected to last. I asked for a replacement quote, and two days later I was quoted $20,000 -- which felt excessive. I ended up calling my home warranty company, and a different HVAC company came out. They replaced the coolant, and the HVAC has been working fine ever since (going on two months now). Separately, I also tried to schedule service through my membership to look at a leak in my tub. It took multiple calls to even get an appointment, and when the tech came out, he identified the issue as a filter that needed replacing -- but couldn't do it that day. Overall, I can't recommend Same Day based on my experience. While they were responsive in scheduling when I had an emergency, I didn't feel confident in their assessments or solutions, and the price points seemed very high and misleading. read more

I mistakenly agreed to a maintenance call at Home Depot for A/C check up. When they came out it was too cold so they did the heater inspection instead. The technician showed me pictures and told me lots of scary things were happening and that the whole system needed to be replaced right then and now for the safety of our family. I got an estimate for thousands of dollars and when I said I needed to discuss it with my husband and will get back to him, he said he could just wait there and do it today. That was my first of many red flags. Also knowing that we hardly use our heater, I was skeptical that there were so many issues. I had SDGE come out and do their free inspection of any gas appliance and this technician confirmed that our unit was in good shape and not leaking oil, dirty and about to set the house on fire. Fast forward to turning our air conditioning on this summer and it was blowing air but not making it cold. After having a different technician come out from a well recommended company, he showed me that someone had disconnected one of the wires and left part of the screwdriver up there. Very long review but worth the read...misleading pricing, pressure tactics, and untrustworthy service. The AC units work though... so there's that! We've now had two separate negative experiences with Same Day Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, and I would strongly caution anyone considering using them. Back in 2022, we purchased a new AC unit for our 2,400 sq ft home through them (via Home Depot). The cost was over $25,000 for a dual-fan system. At the time, it felt high, but with full-time jobs and young kids, we didn't have the time to shop around. The unit itself has worked fine, so when my parent's AC unit broke and needed a new one for their attached 400 sq ft ADU, we went back to the same company. That second unit cost over $13,000, again pricing seemed high especially for such a small space, but it was during a heat wave and parents were out of town and needed it done before they got back. Plus they gave us a $5,000 "discount" for booking same day. And to be fair, both AC units are still working as expected with no issues... our concerns are with pricing, transparency, and service practices. First Major Issue: We signed up for their maintenance plan, which includes 2 checkups a year. During one visit, their technician offered a free plumbing inspection as well. That "free inspection" turned into a disaster. The technician went around testing shut-off valves and ended up breaking multiple valves throughout our home, causing leaks. Then we were told we'd need to pay them to fix the damage they caused. When we pushed back, the explanation was that we have "older pipes" and this is "very common." Our complaint was simple: If this is common with older pipes then why would a professional not warn us before hand of the potential break risk? That would have allowed us to make the decision on whether we still wanted the "free inspection". Instead the professional knew the likely hood of them breaking and proceeded to touch them anyways with no warning to us. After a lot of back and forth, they eventually agreed to fix the valves at no cost, but only after my husband (Steven) had already repaired several himself because the leaks were urgent. That experience alone felt incredibly questionable, like a tactic to create paid repair work out of a "free" visit. Second Major Issue: Fast forward to this week. We wanted to relocate my parents' AC unit to a better location (it was installed ~34 ft away, creating unnecessary piping and limiting space use). We contacted them again because we were worried moving the unit ourselves would void the warranty. They quoted us: $3,500, then "Discounted" to $2,900 for being "loyal customers" if we booked quickly. We weren't comfortable with that price, but the technician said they would price match competitors, which made it seem like their pricing was competitive. Thankfully, this time my parents are now retired and have plenty of time to get multiple quotes. The highest quote was $1,900 with the lowest quote $1,690. That's not even close to the $2,900 that was supposedly discounted for us. When we called Same Day back to honor the price match (before our scheduled appointment), they completely walked it back, saying they don't price match and didn't know why their employee would say that. Instead, they reminded us that using another company would void our warranty, essentially backing us into a corner. So my parent's AC unit is staying right where it's at cause we don't want to pay the high price but we also can't go with another company without messing up the warranty. At this point, we feel stuck dealing with a company we no longer trust. Between: - Overpriced installs - Misleading "discounts" - False claims about price matching - A "free inspection" that caused damage - Pressure tactics tied to warranty restrictions ...it's clear this is not a company that operates transparently. If we had taken the time to get multiple quotes from the beginning, we likely would have saved thousands of dollars and not been stuck in this situation. Avoid this company if you're looking for honesty and fair pricing. Take the time to get multiple quotes, don't rely on their "discounts" or verbal promises. 3 days to install a broken mini split system that's been broken for 2 years. I've had to call twice just to get an appointment 2 days later. I still haven't seen anybody. It's July!! I only need it to work for two months out of the year!!! I paid over $20,000.00. I signed up for a $29 AC tuneup at home depot. When they called me I asked them what the tune-up entailed, The person on the phone told me it was a comprehensive inspection. A tune up and an inspection are 2 different things, while they may have value, you are paying $29+ for an inspection they offer for free. The whole thing is a sales tactic to try and sell you a new system as refrigerants have changed and companies no longer service old systems. A tune up from an independent HVAC company is $100 and will actually clean your unit and your electrical connections as well as inspect. read more

We had used this AC company before and were very satisfied in the past, but our most recent experience was disappointing. When our AC failed, we contacted them again expecting the same quality of service. Instead, we received an estimate that included unnecessary maintenance items unrelated to the actual repair. The technician also tried to upsell us on a membership plan before even addressing the immediate issue. When we asked for clarification and requested they speak directly with our insurance carrier, they declined, which made the process more frustrating and time-consuming. Looking back, I regret this decision - it's more effort to cancel, and I haven't received any actual benefits. For example, the plumbing inspection that was supposed to be included couldn't be scheduled for an entire month ("because our plumbing department is going through changes", which guaranteed I'd be charged for another billing cycle before it even happened.... I find this sketchy). 3. Design technician visit (afternoon): The so-called "design technician" arrived later the same day. He barely inspected the unit - maybe a few minutes - and then spent nearly an hour delivering a polished sales pitch. And guys, their sales skills are very good (seems non-pushy until you reflect afterwards.) Anyway, the first quote for a basic 2-ton system for my less than 1,300 sq ft townhouse was $20,000. After "discounts," it dropped to $18,500, then $15,000 if I booked installation for the next day. I also asked him if we could keep using the AC and he adamantly said "NO". It's not safe. 4. Sales pitch details: They heavily promoted their 12-year labor warranty and a 2-year "no-risk" refund policy. While that is better than average, I now realize they likely purchase extended warranties from manufacturers and pass that cost to the customer - making the total price far higher than market rates. And that's okay but they should be transparent with the customers about the fact that we would be bearing those costs. This feature does not make them special. 5. Second opinion (another company): I later had another technician inspect the system. He found no bacterial growth, no standing water, and confirmed we could use the AC no problem - it just wasn't running at peak efficiency. Bottom line: If you're contacting them for a tune-up, be prepared for a lengthy sales process aimed at replacing your system, complete with memberships, same-day "discounts," and high-dollar quotes. Always get multiple estimates before agreeing to anything - and don't let urgency tactics rush your decision. I am incredibly disappointed in this experience - I wasted 3 hours of my precious time, A LOT of initial stress that we had to come up with $15-20K (especially in this economy when cost of living in SD is off the roof), and honestly lied to. Same Day's service really is great. They are super friendly and helpful. Wilbert Tapia was my technician that came by to replace a thermostat that went bad on me. He had to go into the attic to turn off the power to the unit. We had to move a bunch of boxes to get to the crawl space and when he left he put back all of the boxes himself. We sign a membership for maintenance. We have an appointment done for our first A/C tune up on a work day. I have to request two months in advance a day off. Which are very limited at work. The Company decided to reschedule my appointment for another day. Unfortunately, I don't have more vacation days to request. Unbelievable. Take this as a warning, folks. For $99, two guys came out (same day) to look at my salt water softener which wasn't filling with water. They opened it up, and stared at it for a while like two Labrador retrievers trying to figure out a card trick. Someone must have told them that using a flashlight (midday, outside) to poke around makes you look like a pro, but it didn't. "It's supposed to fill with water, and it doesn't," I said. After some back and forth, the senior tech said, "From what I remember, it's not supposed to have water in it." "I think it is," I said, having owned water softeners for years. "No," he said, "I don't think so. Anyways, we don't work on water softeners unless we installed them." Yes, 1) water softeners are supposed to have water in them, and 2) if you don't repair water softeners you didn't install, why are you here? But I also had a p-trap under my laundry room sink come loose, and I had a bitch of a time getting it reseated myself. "Can you fix that while you're here?" I asked, looking to get something for my non-refundable $99. Again, they look at the p-trap with the confused looks and the flashlight. Then out came the tablet. Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap. Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap. "We can't fix it, we have to replace it," he said. He turns the tablet around. $490. In my opinion this is nothing more than a 4-minute fix for a pro. That's it. Get out. I'll pay your $99 non-negotiable fee, but I'll be d***ed if I'll let these jokers anywhere near my house again. Heed my warning folks. These jokers are not worth the $99, even if they do come out to gouge you for it "the same day." 2-stars because even though they knew as much about plumbing as slow-witted Labrador retrievers, they were polite. read more
