I have been a Progressive customer for many years. I recently needed my vehicle towed and called Progressive asking to utilize my roadside assistance coverage. I was told by progressive to pay $241.00 to a link they sent to me and I can ask for a reimbursement. I have now asked for my reimbursement and it was brought to attention that I did not carry roadside assistance, which they could have told me when I called. As it turns out, the cost from the tow company was only $104.00. When speaking with Progressive they minimize the issue saying the person I called from the link on their app was an affiliate who takes their roadside claim calls. Of course the phone I called was Progressive, the credit charge of $241.00 was paid to Progressive. I question if any of this is legal, but certainly not ethical. I am currently shopping for a commercial quote for my business. I called their 888 number. Over the course of 5 days I've talked to 3 different people. I finally got a quote from "Mark". I had questions about the coverage. It takes me 8 to 10 minutes to get someone on the phone, then the run around trying to get to "Mark". They won't give me a last name or a direct line. Why is this company so shady and have such a low approval rating? Needless to say, I'm glad they showed me what kind of business they are so early on. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

My claims representative (Jorrell Ortiz) was the worst! I could never get this clown on the phone and when he would finally decide to return my call or email his demeanor and attitude was very poor and very unsympathetic to my needs or request. I'm extremely unhappy with the overall service and process with Progressive Insurance Claims department and would strongly recommend anyone that's dealing with this company get an attorney and get what's rightfully owed to you. I had full coverage on my car. Road hazard (tire) someone else hit and flew a full tire and into my car. Inches away from hitting me. Progressive ran me in circles for a week with whether it was repairable or not. One day the adjuster tells me my car is not a loss and I can have it all repaired. She really reassured me and said it without a shadow of a doubt. The VERY NEXT DAY, I learn it's a total loss. She didn't even have the appraisal approved before she told me it was able to be repaired. SO unprofessional. Threw me in a emotional whirlwind for days. Will not be using progressive in the future. Only helpful person was my claim rep. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else for insurance. read more

I can't say enough how awful it was working with Leo Barrera. Not only was I hit by a Progressive client, but even though they took responsibility for the accident and the pay out was minimal, Leo Barrera still treated me like I was trying to scam them! It was back in July of 2023 and I STILL haven't received the $1000 pay out for the invoice I sent him. He said to send any last receipts I had so they can apply an additional $1,000 and they never did. In fact, it took him three months to even reach out to my physical therapist. During which he kept asking for "codes" (so they could off-set the claim) but as my trainer didn't accept health insurance, there were no codes. Didn't stop Leo from continuing to ask and harass me for something I didn't have to provide. No idea how this guy has a job, seriously criminal how they treat people. read more

Three comments, and two are One Star? Well, "oh-so-reliable Progressive", here's your 4th One Star. Last December I was bumped in traffic by a young motorist who strayed from her lane. We stopped and all agreed we suffered no injuries. We stood around just visiting for two hours, while waiting for Mesa PD to arrive. Two months later, the family of the young girl who struck my car and her passenger both filed huge claims against my insurer, Progressive, for thousands of dollars in fraudulent injuries that never existed, pain and suffering that never happened, loss of work, rental cars, and every hangnail, aspirin and facial tissue they could dream up. Never mind the proximate cause of the mishap was her negligence in striking a non-moving vehicle, nor the angry cop who continually lost his temper and refused to take a statement from me, yet attempted to charge me with a moving violation (which was dismissed with prejudice by the court). Their attorney successfully conned Progressive into writing them a check for $8,500.00 for the negligible damage to the right front of their Ford Focus. Meanwhile, I'm waiting to hear from Progressive, seeking my assistance and whatever cooperation I can provide in settling these huge, bogus claims. Crickets... After seven months, I called Progressive to see what the hell is going on. The woman I spoke with, Lindsey Leary in Albuquerque, was immediately rude. She interrupted me constantly, refused to let me ask questions, told me I had nothing whatever to do with helping resolve the claim, and bullied me like a salivating pit bull. When I asked for an in-person meeting to provide material documents supporting my allegations of fraud, she refused, to the point of losing her temper and screaming at me, that I don't know anything about what fraud is, and it's not my business to interfere with their 'investigation'. All she's doing now, she claims, is deciding just how much of the fraudulent claim they would like to pay... and I need to butt the hell out and just drop it. Immediately following that call I received an intimidating letter from her, threatening to refuse to honor the policy and allow me to be sued, if I did not provide assistance in settling the claim. Being a bully is a lot easier over the telephone than it is in person. Bullies always chicken out and turn coward when confronted face to face. For proof, see the 15 other reviews posted on Yelp! and how Progressive's determined bullies will draw blood, if it means verbally bludgeoning a client into submission in order to win. This is no coincidence. Progressive deliberately hires and trains professional bullies "to make problem policyholders go away", which is no different from the way the New York mafia operates. Their slick, soothing advertising claims "local agent", yet a material fact they refuse to disclose is the "local agent" horse manure evaporates the moment a policy is purchased. Then you're out on your own, trying to make contact with one or more of Progressive's flesh-eating Cyber-Bullies in outer space. It seems indemnifying their policyholders is a lost art at Progressive.
