My mom got some kind of short rib sandwich and let it be known, my mother does not take food to go EVER, but she took the other half of this sandwich home. All in all, I'm not a fan of how touristy St. Augustine is, so I don't have high hopes for the restaurants there, but Prohibition Kitchen was pretty great. read more

Even if they go cold while you are working on the burger, they won't go flight and keep their "crunchynees" instead. Perfect opportunity to finally visit this place. As tomorrow is a holiday, we knew St. Augustine would be a zoo with the fireworks so we came to experience PK before the madness. Upon checking in, we were given a 60 minute wait time but got in at about 40 minutes. I really liked the set up with the live music stage near the front of the establishment. Dark woodsy decor with a great vibe. Music tonight was perfect - not too loud but loud enough to hear over the crowd noise. We started with a couple of drinks which were reasonably priced. Wife had a juice concoction with vodka and they were $6. I opted for a sittin' pretty which was refreshing with alcohol. Danielle our awesome hardworking and friendly server highly recommended the pretzel so we went for it. Probably the best bar pretzel I've ever had. #nojoke While it could definitely stand on its own, it's served with beer cheese soup or Dijon mustard (but we paid the $1 upcharge and tried both). The Dijon is thick and seedy - in a good way - but the beer cheese was simply excellent. It had a terrific consistency, not too thick, and truly complemented the pretzel. I didn't take a pic as there are many already posted. We then decided to split a Whiskey BBQ burger and some crispy brussel sprouts. The burger was perfectly prepared at the medium temp that we ordered. It is topped with tangy BBQ sauce, smoked cheddar, thick bacon, and frenchs onion straws. The 1/2 lb. patty was nicely packed (loose) to keep it tender and juicy. A substantial amount of crispy fries accompanied the sandwich and the meal was fairly priced. The brussel sprouts are deep fried and served with a caeser dressing drizzle. I felt the sprouts could have been left in the fryer another 30 seconds but they were very good nonetheless. We had a few more drinks and it was a great night overall - really loved the live music. I can't wait to come back. read more

Literally would give no stars if I could. Came here with my family and ordered 3 burgers, waters, & 2 martinis. Food was no more than decent. I'm not exaggerating when I say the server took 30 minutes in between doing everything. Got our drink order. Took 30 minutes to get our food order. Checked on us maybe once aside from those 2 times and the place was not busy. Even getting the check was a challenge and another server noticed us waiting and brought us the check. I definitely would not go back, nor recommend the place to anyone. read more

The pretzel was the bomb! Served hanging on a hook, baked to a crispy brown, and served with a choice of beer cheese or mustard dipping sauce. The pretzel is huge! Probably as big as a dinner plate, and worth a return trip! Local live entertainment, and rustic atmosphere give this place a cool vibe. Service was excellent, server was friendly and very attentive, food came our quickly and tasted great! We split the bacon cheddar BBQ burger, cooked to perfection and very juicy and flavorful. With the large portion of crispy fries, it was plenty of food to share. I ordered a custom-mixed drink from the bar and it was exactly as ordered, and very reasonably priced. They really put the Prohibition in "Prohibition Kitchen". The Anti-Saloon League would be proud. Make sure you HAVE your "government" issued Identification (not every government ISSEUD ID will work). Make sure your Buddies and Buddets know before heading to this establishment. Food was delivered professionally. Food was what you would except at a high end Bar (food was good) oh...and if you did forget your ID don't watch over your ladies drink. Went here one Sunday after church as my mom wanted to try 'something different'. We ended up having to wait a good 30-45 minutes so we walked St. George street while we waited. The hostess and manager up front was very kind and honest with the wait time. Our service was okay. It was pretty busy but our server tended to disappear for a while so it took us time to get our appetizer order in, then entrees, and even our check. We thought lunch was on them, as it took her a long while to give us our checks. But the ambiance was chill. They had a band there playing some chill vibes like Jackson 5 and top 100 covers. For apps we had their deviled eggs and their pretzels. The eggs were good. I love devil eggs but this one has a little twist. The addition of the kimchi added that acidic (bite) but I'm not a fan of kimchi, but I still had to take a bite to try it. But if you like kimchi I'm sure this is the dish for you. The pretzel was huge! We were a party of 4 and we had plenty to go around. It was flaky on the outside and soft and chewy inside. It came with a mustard dip and a beer cheese type dip. It was delicious. My aunt decided to get a salad (as an app) and failed to realize that the app was pretty much a meal for 2-3 lol. It was huge! They said they enjoyed it and it was tasty. For entree I had the lobster roll. What's great is it comes with 2. What's interesting is that I thought it might not be enough but after 1, I was stuffed. Probably due to all the apps we ate. But it was nice. It had good amount of lobster (more meat less mayo and fillers) had small bites of celery. The wife had a sandwich that was like a philly but on two Texas toast. It had some cheese on it. I took a bite and it had some good seasoning. Like some sort of season salt probably. It wasn't to much to be to salty and it didn't lack to be to bland. Both our sandwiches came with fries. It was some good seasoned fries. The rest of the family had some burgers. Our first night in St. Augustine we were looking for a nice burger and some cocktails. This place did not disappoint. The service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Our server was quick to explain the cocktails and helped my picky self choose a cocktail which was just Perfectly what I wanted. We ordered the grilled oysters - delicious, the half pound specialty burger we shared - easily the best burger I have had, and the rum bread pudding - LOVED - except too many walnuts (but thats a food peev of mine). Also as an added bonus there were 2 live music acts while we ate and they we great and added to the atmosphere of this old brick iron and tin building. The location is fantastic and the experience and food unforgettable - will like be back at least once during our weekend here. read more

I have been sitting for 1 1/2hrs listening to the band that they have onsite and I have not been asked if I want food or drink. I have heard great things about this place and sadly I am so disappointed I am wondering was it worth the 45min drive from Jacksonville. Prohibition Kitchen has such an amazing atmosphere, fitting environment for its time period it's trying to recreate. The staff is super friendly and informative on what's new and what's great to try. They have live music that changes on the daily that varies from jazz bands to solo acoustic. The Drink menu is awesome and has a great variety of craft beers to mix drinks. They usually have their own rum/cola but do to Covid they have been on a shortage. As for the food they were out of the German pretzel and vegan substitute for their sandwiches. I tried the Blue crab Hush puppy and the Devil eggs which were topped with cheesesteak. Both were fantastic and so good our 3 and 5 year old liked them. For dinner I got the Fried Chicken sandwich with green tomatoes, this was hands down the best chicken sandwich I have ever had!!!! A group of friends and I stopped into Prohibition for lunch during a girl's trip to St. Augustine. We had such a good time! The menu is extensive so there's definitely something for everyone. And of course they have a variety of awesome cocktails, too! I was trying to eat #healthy, and I was excited to see how many great salads were on the menu. I chose the Super Bowl Salad, which was loaded with kale, avocado, cucumbers, eggs, and asparagus. It was HUGE! And super yummy. Our waitress was super sweet and made our visit even better! Prohibition is a great spot for anyone and everyone. Even our friend who is pregnant enjoyed a big banana milkshake while we indulged in the cocktails. Came here for the weekend because my son will be attending Flagler College. There were six of us and it was an hour wait on Saturday afternoon but it went by quickly due to all the shops around. We ordered a make your own burger with goat cheese, sauteed peppers and bacon, a whiskey bbq burger, a roast beef ciabatta sandwich and the banana fosters milkshake with rum. The milkshake and the make your own burger were very good. The whiskey bbq burger, all you could taste was the bbq sauce, you could not taste anything else. Huge portions, delicious food, great staff!!! We started wit the biggest pretzel I'd ever seen, cooked to perfection. The beer cheese was great, not overwhelming and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter had the fried chicken sandwich with fries. She said the chicken was moist , juicy and delicious. I had the vegetarian Ruben with a side salad (upcharge for the salad). I cannot believe how amazing this sandwich tasted. It was the perfect light option after a 3 hour drive. Our server was Phillip, who was also amazing. He was checking on us and we never had to wait for a drink or to ask for anything. I'd like to thank him for recommending the Ruben!!! I also have to say, the staff works together beautifully. Even the hostess visited our table to drop off food. This is definitely a come back to the next time we're in St. Augustine. We came back today for their hand spun milkshake. One of my favorite places to go in saint Augustine is prohibition! I love the atmosphere, food is delicious, and the bartenders are fantabulous. Most recently, I went here with a gal pal. Had to get an after church cocktail because why not. We got some drinks! The green sheeba is amazing. It has this yummy sweet kiwi syrup. Yummmmm. Literally cannot taste the alcohol and it's dangerous. We got Mac and cheese. Amazing. Datil wings with datil as recommended you the bartender. Amazing.
