Upon entering Lauren's spa, she immediately made me feel welcome and relaxed. I walked in not really knowing what to ask for or what she could improve upon. But being outdoors oriented, I've seen plenty of sun. While Lauren's spa is new to Portsmouth, she has years of experience in other parts of the country. All of her equipment is new and state-of-the-art. For me (I'm in my 60's), she suggested an initial focus on sun damaged areas and surface capillaries over two IPL sessions. My skin is now smoother, more vibrant and uniform in color! Thus more youthful. The next phase will be some skin tightening completed over a few sessions.

I made the grave mistake of not doing my homework prior and not listening to other medical providers recommendations. Other medical providers in the Seacoast area kept telling me they highly recommend and only refer to Dr. Scannell and they personally had never heard of Dr. Slocum. I, unfortunately, did not listen and chose Dr. Slocum due to him presenting as very confident and selling me on the fact that he could "help me". I am 12-months post op and my outcome is worse than when I came to him. I will need to go another provider to help support me in addressing the damage done, if it can be at this point. If my post can give at least one person cause for pause, I can sleep better at night. Please, please, do your research and choose a surgeon with extensive experience in the procedure you want and can demonstrate a very high number of positive outcomes (with hundreds and hundreds of photos on their website), not just one who sells you on themselves. Ask all of the questions up front and consult locally on who other medical providers recommend. I did not listen and paid the price.
