I took the class from PMA on May 11 and passed my PMP exam on June 26. Not only did I pass, but I passed with flying colors. The PMP exam gives you 3 ratings when you pass: Below Proficient, Moderately Proficient and Proficient (ranked from low to high). I got proficient on 2 domains and moderately proficient on the other 3. I wasn't even close to failing! This is partly due to PMA's in-person course and online materials. I had Mike Bergman as my instructor. Mike was great at helping us focus on what was truly important for the exam. For example, one of the formulas is way too long to memorize and rarely shows up on the exam. Mike's advice was to skip it and focus on the 199 other questions. The reason being that it wasn't worth the effort to memorize that one super long formula when you could be spending your time on the other formulas and concepts. This advice, along with all of Mike's other advice served me well. After the 4 day class, I got a 74% on my practice exam. That was from coming in cold on the material and 7 years of PM experience. Mike recommends getting an 85% on a practice exam before taking the test. I was almost there after just taking the in person course! Along with the great in-person course, PMA also features a ton of awesome material on their online course. They have a full online course available for brushing up on the material. They also have targeted quizzes, practice exams, flash cards, and tutoring available. The tutoring was great! The instructor would answer any and all questions that people would have and would usually use up the full hour. He went over the time limit every time to make sure all questions were answered and answered follow-up e-mails. TLDR: Take the course! You won't regret it. read more

The PMP Exam Prep online course led by Joseph Drammissi (in December 2017) was great. There is so much content to cover from the PMBOK Guide, yet Joe did an excellent job of teaching both the content from the Project Management Academy prep guide (which itself was very good) and from his own and other project management real-life examples. He also shared info from past students, particularly related to the exam itself, which was helpful. Taking the course additionally opened up an amazing array of PMP exam resources on the PMA website, from Q&A and flashcards to mock exams, study guides to PMI application templates. Combined with the necessary time to study (I took four weeks following the end of the course to prepare), Joe's teaching and these resources fully prepared me for the PMP exam, which I just passed! If you plan to take the PMP exam, I highly recommend the Project Management Academy online course, and Joseph Drammissi particularly. The course is not necessarily cheap, but neither is the exam itself and the additional cost of the course is well worth it. There's no doubt I was successful because of this course. read more

I took an online, weekend only PMP boot camp class with Scott Rudowski in January. At the end of February I passed my PMP. I could have easily attended an in-person PMA PMP class in my area, but I prefer online learning. PMA's online course did not disappoint. Scott was a fantastic instructor! He was knowledgeable, interactive, and managed class communication well. The course was a ton of information, so as recommended by Scott, I followed his suggested study plan and used many of the study tools provided by PMA (provided with your course fee). I watched class videos and did several mock tests. My two favorite tools were 1) doing a quick mock test in a single knowledge area or process group to gauge my studying needs and 2) using the digital flash cards when I had a quick few minutes- like while standing in line. These items enabled me to study whenever I had time and to do focused study. I have already enthusiastically recommended this course to a friend. It was definitely money well spent for me. read more

For the overall PMA rating I would give them 5 stars. Their course content and materials help to decompose all 600+ pages of the PMBOK into a manageable learning process. Others in my organization have taken boot camps or crash courses from places around the Phoenix metro and have either had nightmare stories or failed the exam a couple times. Not me, the study guides and breakdown of the process helped me ace the test on my first time. Mike Bergman was impressive to say the least. He was able to turn the material and content of the PMBOK into relatable information that even stuck in my head. All expectations were met and exceeded after sitting through the 4 day course with Mike. I will recommend taking a course from Mike to others without a second thought, and plan on sending junior personnel to his course in the near future. Earlier this year I was able to take the 4-day PMP training course from PMA with John Dokos. First and foremost, I appreciate his aptitude and thoroughness for project management. Of course I knew he was going to be knowledgeable but more importantly he is a good teacher. Not having any exposure to project management, the training was new to me and a bit overwhelming with the amount of content it encompasses. I ended up delaying my exam 4 weeks from its original date and for good reason as I was able to Pass on my first attempt. The course was a great foundation for my studying journey. John provided great advice on what areas to focus on and gain a deep understanding of. For that reason, I highly recommend him and PMA for your PMP training. read more

I took the PMA Bootcamp with Michael Bergman and signed up for the (optional) 5th day. Mr. Bergman did such an excellent job covering the material, emphasizing the more complicated computation-based questions that the 5th day was primarily a review of things we covered during class. He did a great job of emphasizing the difference between the PMP and CAPM tests (I will be testing for CAPM after a bit of study time). Since the class I have followed his suggestion by working on memorizing the processes and how they are arranged into the knowledge areas and it's helped me on the exercises immensely. I attended PMA's April 2024 virtual course, taught by John Dokos, and could not be happier with the instruction or the instructor. I scheduled the exam as soon as possible and scored above target in every domain. Arguably, the best part of PMA's program is their initial analysis of your strengths and weaknesses. This analysis helped me focus on the areas I needed to improve. John's instruction was filled with real-world experience, and his examples came in handy when taking the exam. Be sure to take advantage of the practice exams and quizzes and any of the wealth of tools PMA provides to help you address any weak areas. I took the PMP class which was instructed by Rob Gibbs. Rob did a great job with the material, and it is a lot to go over. I had done some studying before the class to give myself an idea of what I was going to learn, which was a great help. This way, I was able to focus my questions on areas of concern, which Rob was very willing to help with. I also really appreciate on the last day as class ended, he took the time to answer some extra questions and to look over what I had written up for my application. After the class I immediately submitted my application and was able to take my test 2 weeks later in a testing center and pass on the first try! Thank you PMA and Rob! read more

Michael was a fantastic instructor and moved the course at a good pace. Even with the large amount of material we had to cover in four days he took time for questions and was great at explaining things. I had spent three months studying before the course which I think was helpful but I feel that if I didn't study I still would have done well. The formulas are the toughest part for me to grasp so I appreciated him explaining them and being given the laminate study guides. Between the materials you receive during the course and what is available online after, you can't go wrong. Michael Bergman and PMA do an amazing job preparing individuals for their PMP exam. The boot camp along with the presentation made passing on the first try possible. PMA has some amazing study guides and preparation techniques that help you become productive quickly. These items will ensure you avoid study paralysis. Michael does a great job giving analogies on some of the concepts. These analogies stick in your head during the exam and allow you to quickly navigate between incorrect and correct responses. . I'm very happy I took the PMP bootcamp training from PMA! My instructor was Rob Gibbs and he was great, very knowledgeable. I'm also VERY happy that PMA offers weekly tutoring sessions and practice exam review sessions - these were integral to learning exam strategy and deductive reasoning techniques. I took the training in February 2021, studied approximately 8 hours a week for several months and attended tutoring at least every other week from February to the end of July. Then in July I started studying 4-8 hours a day when possible. I passed the exam on August 4 with flying colors (high above target in all areas). Had Michael Bergman as my instructor. I truly recommend him as he provides a very comprehensive path to preparing for the PMP. I passed on my first try, scoring above target, and I truly don't think I could've had that success without Michael's guidelines and framework for preparation. I completed my PMP Boot Camp in January 2022 with Rob Gibbs. Overall I was very impressed with the delivery and coverage of the content. Rob went over the fundamentals needed to pass the exam. His real-life project management experiences helped me understand the content better. I highly recommend Rob and PMA if you are looking to study for the PMP exam. I attended the PMP course in March 2020 with John Dokos. Prior to class I did self study and watched many videos on YouTube, however, not until I got into class did it all solidify. John was excellent at presenting the content and relating it to talk world experiences. This was monumental to my learning. As well, he spent time on the address that I feel were my weakest areas to ensure that I grabbed the concepts and understood the material. This was my second, but best, certification course. I plan to look into additional training with PMA and hope to have John as my instructor. read more

I attended a virtual July 2019 PMP Prep course with John D (outstanding instructor!!) and passed the PMP Exam on my first attempt, achieving "Above Target" ratings in 4 of the 5 process groups and a "Meets Target" rating in the fifth. What a great experience. The instructor was knowledgeable and his extensive PM experience was evident. The course was very well organized and efficient. I took the December 2024 virtual class with John D, split into 8 half day lessons, which I felt made the material much more manageable. John did a great job of providing real world examples and showing me how to utilize all of the tools at my disposal to study and prep. Lesson topics were laid out and presented in a clear manner which allowed me to note down specific areas where I needed additional study time and efficiently go back to those for further review. Attended a March 2020 class with John D. John was very thorough, articulated the content so well, and provided guidance on strategy and approaches to studying and taking taking test. Mike was super organized, guiding the class through Project Management using his experience and good learning stories. Besides the material, Mike provided periodic question and answer sessions, leading up to the simulated 4 hour exam. Given the class pre-test, Mike's teaching, some good discussions with class mates, and then the class simulated exam - I realized I have improved but need to study and perform more simulated exams prior to taking the proctored PMP exam.
