Some friends of our recently moved to Malden and invited us to try out this course! We went during the last time-slot and were allowed to comfortably play on our own. The entire experience lasted about an hour. I loved the design and thought that went into Project Putt! Each hole takes a different approach and has a lot of fun tricks that I've yet to see while mini-golfing!! I won't spoil any, and recommend trying them out yourself! There's also a lot of fun art throughout as well as the holes themselves. Just use caution if you have any side effects with lighting/illusions/smoke - there's a lot of that. read more

This is a new spot in Malden! There are 12 holes and the courses each have a unique element to them. I will add that there are some strobing lights/some courses that may be difficult for those with photosensitivity, so something to be mindful of if anyone in your party is sensitive to that. They have signs with warnings before you start these courses so you are aware though. For $18 a round and $5 for each consecutive round after, I'd say this is a super fun hangout spot. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. At one point there was roughly 6 different groups there but it didn't feel busy nor did I feel rushed. Keep in mind that it is in the basement. I went on a hot summer day and they dont have AC, so it can get hot down there. read more

Entering the place was a little tricky as the mini golf spot seems to be within a residential building and the button to buzz you in looks like a doorbell. It's a cool little spot but for $18 it's a little steep. There are twelve holes and there is a five stroke limit for each hole-but no one is there to enforce it. The themes were interesting at first with this high tech course with contraptions; however, the theme went all over the place later on with repetitive designs and some horror motifs like eyeballs or mannequins. This is an ok mini golf spot. Came with my nephew to get a few putts in. As an adult, I wasn't too impressed. It felt more for teenagers like my nephew that likes the glow-in-the-dark nature of these spots and the crazy lights in some of the courses that makes some people feel dizzy and the vibration floor on one of the courses. This spot is inside a building where you have to be buzzed in. Once you get in, you pay and they line you up to pick up your score card, golf club, and ball for each person . They will tell you that each person only have 5 shots in the course to prevent any single group from holding up everyone else behind them. There are 12 courses packed into a relatively tight room and at busy times a lot of people just waiting for the prior group to finish with each course. Most of the courses are challenging in that they add distracting elements (aggressively moving flashing lights, vibrations, etc) and a lot of obstacles in the way. There was one course (course 11?) where you have to walk into a big spinning tube hit a ball to the other end of the tube. The lights and the spinning of the tube will give some people throwing up feelings. Just a warning. Again, I personally didn't think it was worth it, as I didn't care for those obstacles. I prefer outdoors mini golf with the conventional windmills and dinosaurs, etc. Those hit a lot differently. This, on the other hand feels like I paid to walk a ball and club around a room just to give it back to them. I know all mini golf is like that but outdoors mini golf in the summer breeze is a different vibe and in my opinion, a more fullfilling experience. But again, kids may be wowed here by all the alien decorations and elements. read more

Had a blast at this spot! Not only was the staff super welcoming, informative, and friendly!! We had gone at the perfect time and had the course to ourselves. I absolutely loved how science and mini golf came together here. From when I thought I had all in one, but then air started blowing out of different locations to avoid it going in or the floor starting to shake when you're ready to putt. This is a new hangout spot in the Malden area that is so much fun! The theme of this mini golf arena is all science theme. At $18 per play, you and your friends cruise around 12 holes in a wild lit up world underground. The staff here is dressed up in mad scientist clothes and so friendly! I was there Jan. 26th with my son. My son was super excited to be there with his friends. Normally you want to take your time through mini golf, so you can enjoy the game. Also, it takes less than 30 minutes to get through the whole course. I was not happy about the Staff members following are group of Kids (8-9years old). To the point we felt rushed to finish the game. None of the kids had more than 4 shots. It was unfortunate because the kids were having a great time before then. I had so much fun and really loved this spin on mini-golf! Loved the different challenges that each course presented. It made it much more engaging and interesting than the usual. That being said, I was expecting it to be bigger. The space is a lot smaller than I anticipated, and I definitely think there could have been room for more holes if they had the opportunity to get more space. I also think it would have been fun if they offered drinks too. I think the foundation/idea is good, but they could make some improvements to make it better. I would also like to note, if you are prone to seizures or anything like that, I probably wouldn't try this place. Some of the experiences could make one a bit sick. Just a disclaimer. read more

I have this competitive side which leads me to challenging my friends to things that I have no business challenging them to. So, obviously I challenged my friend who is an avid golfer to a mini golf challenge. I'm not even going to share my thought process, but I thought my zero-golf-experience somehow put me at an advantage in this match up. Incorrect. Anyway, back to Project PUTT. We were able to get a same-day reservation for four people (obv needed to have friends around to witness my epic victory). When we arrived, the staff were super nice and gave us a run down of the rules and helped us get set up and on our way. When we entered the course, it was dark, there was: neon, tons of flashing lights, some of those wacky inflatable tube dudes bobbing about, and music (very loud music). It was like we stepped into a rave, but instead of dancing you had to golf. We loved it. There was only one group in front of us and they somehow managed to finish really quickly so for the majority of the time it was just our group. The course is not huge, but what can you expect inside a building in a major city? I feel like it's large enough, but again, there were no other groups around. I can see it being a little cramped if there were too many people playing at one time, but I think the way they do reservations prevents that from happening. I totally recommend this place. One minute you will be laughing and cheering for your friend who just got a hole in one and the next minute you will be trying to knock their ball backwards (because what's a game without some good ol' sabotage?) - it's a freaking blast. ...and no, I didn't win. read more

This place is okay inside. It has no ac and I was sweating. It has a weird smell and if not only that, the staff are really rude. One in particular is the blonde girl at the desk, she was very passive aggressive. This is a conversation she had with my friend who is mentally challenged. "Please spit out your gum" in a condescending tone. My friend said "Ok" (assuming she meant after she was done talking to us) "Go throw it away, now." "Ok" And she did. After sweating and doing putt "Please go get your clipboard" she said which my friend forgot because she also struggles with adhd, and we both forgot it. But my friend and i didn't get a second to explain ourselves , since she kept talking over us. "Ok, give me one minute) said my friend "How did more gum get in your mouth?" "Because I had a pack in my pocket" "Ok get out now I'll get the clipboard thank you" in a rude tone. This hurts because my friend is vislibly mentally challenged and gum calms her social anxiety which can get bad. read more

Pretty disappointed in this place because the description sounded cool. I was expecting monster mini-golf like course but it didn't live up to my expectations. The location is kinda weird with limited parking and very little signage. You need to be buzzed in to get in as it shares the building with some apartments. The course was only 12 holes long and the design seemed very lazy and uninspired. Three of the holes are near identical just with different light-up obstacles. The unique holes all try to impede the player by blowing their ball back. I would have preferred at least one hole that could have helped the player. It was very frustrating having to accept the max score over and over, and there are very few opportunities for a hole in one. The worker giving the instructions was very nice and but once we got in it was a little unclear if we were allowed to stand on the greens or not. It seemed impossible to hit the ball without standing on it in some situations; but the greens seemed very flimsy like they were made of thin plywood. I would have preferred if the greens were on the ground instead of raised or at least made out of more sturdy materials. The price ($18) seemed quite expensive considering the area and the length of the course. It took us less than 30 minutes to finish and you need to pay Honestly I would skip this place unless the price is lowered or some serious changes are made. read more

Near Boda Borg, Project PUTT is a new mini golf area that you and your friends can play and have fun. With a creative course, you step into an area with colorful and flashing lights and dubstep-like songs playing in the background. The reason I took away a star is because the place isn't air conditioned; they use big fans at each spot to keep the place cool. Having said that, I recommend this place for some good fun. read more

Before I even start, let me tell you this place is a genuine hole in the wall. Ringing a doorbell grants you access as you're escorted by one of the "lab staff" on duty as you enter the playing area. A quality 12-hole course nestled right in the middle of Malden Center with ample street parking (with the exception of a few unmarked handicapped spots) is a prime location for this rave-esque mini golf experience. The owner is a fantastic individual as well, as he let me and my group explore the course while additionally providing constant help and guidance for our first play through! read more

We're avid mini golf players and were psyched to see this new place. I worked in Malden many years ago and have been happy with a lot of the new, fun places the city has added. Yeahhh...not this one. It reeks of weed, is tiny, gimmicky and just plain stupid. I honestly don't understand why anyone other than a small child would actually like this, but there were groups having the actual rules of mini golf being explained to them so...maybe newbies? Putt, putt, sweat. I really really wanted to love this place but I definitely take a star off for the fact that there is no ac and it was a very busy Saturday night and we left there literally dripping sweat. I was more concerned with finding fans to stand near than actually playing and I love mini golf. The other star off is unfortunately for the course itself. The look is super cool, but there is a lot of uneven terrain, places you stand off the course, corners where your ball would get stuck. There were also a lot of places with small trip hazards and it's so dark you can't always see when / where to step up or down. If they got ac and fine tuned some stuff it could be great. read more
