My family is crazy about mini golf and we have been to over 100 different mini golf businesses. We went to Castle Creek yesterday because my kids wanted to use go-karts. They have a summer package which includes a round of mini golf, 1 go-kart ride, and 1 regular ice cream for $27. It seemed like a reasonable deal. The atmosphere and mini golf course looked amazing but was sloped and your ball rolled completely off the course or in the sides of the course on pretty much every hole. We consider ourselves to be great mini golfers and love a challenge but the courses were not leveled appropriately and need some updating. The kids said the go karts were just "ok". Nothing to rave about. The ice cream situation was ridiculous! The two teenagers taking orders were out to lunch! They never wrote anything down and kept mixing up the order. They both appeared to be half asleep and it was 2:00pm! They were not pleasant to speak with and acted as though our ordering ice cream was an inconvenience. I have two teenagers and I know teens can be moody but if you are in the business of serving please for the love of Pete at least pretend that you want to be there and write down a persons order if you can't remember it. read more

Castle Creek is a reliable spot for some summertime mini golf - though be warned, the few times I've been here, the course can get pretty crowded! I recently came here with a large group and we did the mini golf + go cart + ice cream special for $23/person. It felt like a great deal, and these three activities kept us entertained for the afternoon. The mini golf course itself is pretty good - there are other spots in the area with newer-seeming courses that I like better (Paradise Island, McGolf, Golf Country), but if you want classic, kinda-cheesy mini golf fun, Castle Creek will do the trick. Overall, the holes were decently maintained and the difficulty level was just right (though hole #1 seemed to kick all of our butts!). Ice cream portions were huge, and their list of flavors was even huger. No complaints there. The go carting was pretty standard - it's not one of the super high speed tracks, but it was enough to be entertaining even for a group of adults. You'll have a fun time coming here, whether young or old (but do be prepared for a little bit of waiting on the mini golf course on a nice summer day). read more

We took our 13-year-old grandson for a surprise birthday party in August 2019, having no advance knowledge of this site. We loved the go-karts and the ice cream, although we did not have time for the miniature golf. We were very impressed with the safety of the exciting electric go karts (no gasoline fumes and a very good safety staff). The ice cream is exceptional (Richardson's is a great brand) and the portions were generous. The place is amazingly clean and the workers are enthusiastic and kind. Even the bathrooms were pristine. This is a place that young families can enjoy and afford and we will certainly be returning. I did read the negative reviews and I just do not know what place these people were describing. I took my boyfriend here on a little date night after seeing a great deal on Groupon. I came here about a year ago and it wasn't as bad as people say it is on Yelp. My boyfriend and I had a great time here on a Sunday night. Night time was the perfect time to go as there aren't as many kids running around and people waiting behind you to golf. The Groupon was really easy to redeem at the side of the booth. Just let them know you have a Groupon and hit redeem in front of them. They then ask you what color ball you want and a couple clubs and off you go. A scoreboard is optional. It is a 18 course hole off of Main Street so be aware of cars all along the road. Some holes need some redoing and so does the paint on the ground to clearly identify which hole is next. Hole 17 was a bit confusing because there are two holes- you hit it to the first hole and it's supposed to bounce down to the second hole, but instead ours got stuck in the gutter/pipe and didn't come out until another player went. Note that they do not have any employees around if you have any questions or concerns, you'll have to go back to the front. In the beginning of our course a couple kids kept running all over the holes and their parents and employees were MIA to tell them to stop. It was a bit annoying but the kids started leaving once the sun started setting. The go carts look really lame and sad to be honest. They were really slow and the track was really small. You can barely turn with these go carts and they would spot randomly until an employee came to help you out. A perfect way to end the date night was with some ice cream. We love Richardson ice cream, so we were really looking forward to this after mini golf. They have a lot of flavors to choose from. I got a regular oreo cookie and reese's cup. My boyfriend got a regular strawberry and coffee kahlua brownie. Each regular cup comes with 2 scoops of ice-cream and they were really generous with their scoops, however pretty pricey compared to Richardson's- where they actually get their ice-cream from. $6 for a regular here at Castle Creek but $4.50 for a regular at actual Richardson's. Both of the flavors I got were pretty common and no complaints, however both the strawberry and coffee kahlua brownie my boyfriend got tasted super old and freeze burned. There were large chunks of ice in both flavors and hard to eat and enjoy. He had to throw it out after 3 scoops, what a waste. We think it's because the flavors were less common so it may have been sitting in their freeze for a while. Overall, great experience. Cute and fun date night. I would recommend coming at night to avoid kids running around and kicking your golf balls. It was a great deal on Groupon, check it out! Even their daily special for all 3, mini golf, go cart, and ice-cream isn't bad either. Plus FREE parking. Castle Creek adventure was actually a really fun and good time. When you arrive, they have a huge lot to park on gravel and rocks. Once parked you can walk up and grab a variety of snack foods like ice cream, hotdogs and non-alcoholic beverages. There is also a package that entails icee cream, mini gold and go karting for $21 each person, not a bad deal on a warm day. This is both kid and adult friendly. I went with my girlfriend and loved it. I purchased a deal on Groupon for 2 people to each do a round of mini golf and go karting. The only reason I have 4 and not 5 stars is because they did not have any employees around the facility while playing to assist any customers. A few times other people's golf balls interrupted is while playing and fell into the surrounding water. It caused lots of confusion with which ball belong to whom. Go Karts - if you like under cars, these are for you! We loved driving the "fast" cars around the track a few times as if we were NASCAR drivers. A great thrill but must remember you aren't allowed to hit each other as they are not bumper cars lol. Overall I would return especially with a larger group of people. This place is decent enough for a family kind of establishment, as my family and I (we were a group of four) went over to Castle Creek this past Sunday since we literally hadn't mini-golfed in YEARS. We headed over there around 2:00, and left around 5:00, so we spent a good 3 hours over in Salem (which is where I will be attending school in the fall). The prices for the mini-golf and go kart racing were pretty good, and we actually had a pretty good time going quickly through all 18 holes, plus the cutesy decorations were a nice touch. (The view of the highway and traffic wasn't very aesthetically pleasing, but whatever), and once we added up our scores, my mother and grandmother waited by the benches while my sister and I waited in line for go-karting. Here's where it went bad -- we waited in line for probably 45 minutes, and right when we got to the front of the line, the rope was clipped in front of us and we had to wait another 20 minutes. Once it was our turn to go, we got in and started driving and it was decent so far, until I was clipped in the back by an older girl, which quickly spun me out of control. Now facing the wrong way, a younger boy stared me right in the face and rammed himself into the front of my car at full speed, knocking my head harshly against the seat and sending my glasses (and mask) flying right off my face. The guy in charge did nothing to help, except lazily steer me back in the right direction and shrug, the rest of the race went decently, and when I got out of the track the girl who accidentally clipped me apologized, which was nice, but the boy just laughed and walked away, with his mother not doing a thing. The golf course was plenty fun for an amateur such as myself and the go carting was a welcome after golfing activity after having been terrible all afternoon. This is no Pirate's Cove, but I had a fun day (by day, I mean 1/2 hour) here. The admission is a little steep for such a quick course, but it is what it is. The place could use a little sprucing up...and as someone mentioned before...the water is the color of windex, but I'm pretty sure they're doing that on purpose. The course was easy to follow and definitely kid-friendly. I managed to get 3 holes-in-one...if I can do it, your 6 year-old can do it. I promise. We had a view of the go cart course (opened last summer I think) and the thing is hardly worth admission. It's such a short track that I have to imagine you just start to get dizzy. Go to F1 in Braintree and ride a real track. All-in-all, there are better places out there, but I had fun regardless. read more

The only thing I didn't like, there was a young woman smoking a cigarette at the picnic table next to the one we sat at. I have 14 month old and she could have stepped away from the tables. I came here again for the annual mini golf tournament that is hosted by my close friend on 2nd Saturday of every August. The admission went up to $7. I would not recommend going anytime close to closing. I arrived at 9:00pm with my husband and grandson's. At 9:45 they shut off some of the lights. One of the staff came over to us and told me they close at 10:00 and to hurry up. We finished at 10:10 and when returning our clubs were met with rude staff. I would say ok they wanted to leave however one of the staff passed us in his car and yelled profanities at us. Totally unnecessary. Needless to say, I'll be golfing somewhere else! read more

Stopped here for a hot dog and a couple raspberry lime rickeys. Simple order. Nope took over 25 minutes. Was it busy? Not at all. An older man came up to the window who had been sitting with his family and asked where the hot dogs he ordered a half hour ago were?!? The response from the employee?? "You don't want it raw do you?" WOW!! Don't bother with the raspberry lime Rickey's ... can't taste either as they are so watered down. Not sure why it took so long for fries and a hot dog for my son. Saw at least three employees and two just doing nothing. Was curious about this place for awhile, but with service like this .. Simply put.. All the negative reviews are spot on! Go somewhere else. Food is bad so is the ice cream. golf is almost impossible to play simply because it's built on an incline so gravity plays its part. Just go somewhere else or give your money to some charity you will feel better. read more

This miniature golf course must have been designed by a sadist. The putting surfaces are a very dark color, which at night makes it difficult to see all of the various contours of each hole. On just about every hole, there's something to make you curse its architect. Probably 75% of the course's cups have rises leading up to them that will make the ball roll far away from the hole if you don't putt with the perfect combination of speed and precision. You know when the ball comes to rest right up against a wall, and you want to move it out a few inches to give yourself room to putt? Well, good luck doing that here. Many of the holes are on such a slant that if you try to move your ball out just a little bit, it just rolls right back against the wall. Now, these things in and of themselves would not rate an overly negative review from me. I realize that all of these things are done to provide a challenging course, and that's exactly what some people are looking for. However, the darkness of the putting surfaces in particular has a secondary effect of making parts of the course a legitimate hazard (no golf pun intended). Hole 11, for example, is on a downward slant. Once you leave the tee, there's no path on either side of the green. There are shrubs, though, which pretty much force you to walk down the green. If you walk to the left of that hole's obstacle instead of the right, you have to walk right over a big bump that blends right in with the flatter areas and is VERY difficult to see. Well, I didn't see it. I ended up taking a header, coming only inches from the stone barrier around the end of the hole. I was OK (just banged up my knee a little), but it could have been a lot worse. I'm not a particularly clumsy person by nature. What happened to me could've happened to anybody, including a child or an older person, who may not be able to absorb the impact as well. I don't mean to be overdramatic about it, but it truly is an accident waiting to happen. Play at your own risk. My advice-- don't go at night. And if anyone from Castle Creek is reading this, for pete's sake, RESURFACE YOUR GREENS IN A LIGHTER COLOR. It's the only way I would ever consider returning. Until then, your competitors in Middleton will be getting my business, as I have never felt like they were trying to kill me. read more

Took four 14 year old girls here for an afternoon - they had a blast! We did the $23 special so everyone gocarted, golfed and had ice cream (huge portions!). It's really wholesome, clean, kept up well, and the landscaping is very pretty. If you're expecting Disney World or even an amusement park, you'll be disappointed. If you want good, old fashioned family fun, you should visit! read more

Was told they were not allowed to clean ice cream scooper because of peanut allergy which doesn't make sense because its just soap and water. I was then told i could get a rasberry lime ricky and was filled with tonic water and no rasberry syrup. On top of that the minigolf course is dry and repetitive aswell as the go carts. Go carts were not fast, stopped randomly, and couldnt turn.The bundle is worth it if you want to give your kids a something to do for a cheap price and lame attractions. The location is off a main street and you will be hearing the noise of cars the entire duration you're there. No shade whatsoever and constang sound of plane going by. Overall its a waste of time and money if your kids or yourself have a short attention span. On top of that workers were rude and unattentive, they sidnt care about us customers and madr it seem like we were a burden.This is great for 45 minutes of fun and a small amount of ice cream. (10/10 would not recomend) Personally i would recomend Richardsons Farm in Middleton Ma, the Golf course is better and more detailed, aswell as having more ice cream flavors and better service. If you love Richardson's ice cream as much as I do, then you will love Castle Creek! They have a huge variety of flavor of not only ice creams, but frozen yogurts and sherbets. My absolute favorite is "purple cow" yogurt, but you can't go wrong with any of the oreo flavors, cookie dough, or peanut butter flavors. Toppings or not, the quality of the ice cream here is amazing and you will not be disappointed! There usually isn't much of a line to order and the service is fast! Castle Creek also has mini golf and bumper cars, but I usually just come for the ice cream. :) read more

Stopped here with the family for a fun thing to do. The cost for a family of 4 was $40. If there were any other course close we would not have paid the money. The kids were excited so we went ahead. The course itself it in terrible condition. I understand it is mini golf and not a true gold course, but as far as mini golf courses go, this was the worst material for a mini golf course I have ever played on. It was so terrible it made the golfing part miserable. There was nothing good about this course and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Great place! Castle Creek is a great place if you want your kids to have a fun time. Every day, for $18 a child can get one go cart ride, one round of mini golf, and one ice cream. Deal! The go carts, which you have to be at least 48 inches tall to ride, are decent. You have 3-5 minutes per ride and they're outside and it's like a course. The course is not big I will warn you. The kids really loved it. I've heard that the ice creams are good, and they also have stuff like hamburgers, hot dogs, mozzarella sticks, soda, etc. They have at least 15 different flavors of Richardson's ice cream. The small ice creams are small (not kiddie sized). The mini golf arena is great, 18 holes and they're a challenge the further you go. True, if you only have one or two kids the golf course is short but if you have a group of 4-5 kids then you'd say that it's long. read more

We drove 45 minutes to this place because the website said "family fun for everyone" and that children under 54" can ride on the go carts with an adult, BUT that isn't true. They would not let my daughter ride with me because she was under 48"... She's 36". FALSE ADVERTISING. Go to Canobie Lake instead. read more

If you're looking for an overpriced, miserable miniature golf experience, this is your place! I'm not typically one to complain about price, but for $10 I expected an exceptional course, which Castle Creek is not. As other reviews stated, the overly sloped greens cause the balls to all collect in the same area on each hole. If you're not lucky enough to have you ball end up in one of these said collection areas, that's most likely because the ball has come rolling back to your feet. The sadistic course designer should have spent a little more time and money flattening out the hilly, bug infested terrain to make it more enjoyable for all. Can't comment on the ice cream- initially had planned to get ice cream after, but was so frustrated I needed a drink! read more

Having a brother with downs syndrome I hope anyone who has a child/sibling with downs syndrome will take this to heart. I went there the other day and tried to buy tickets for the go-carts and there was an older gentleman on the other side of the counter. He had the nerve to look my brother straight in the eyes and say "Are you capable of driving ?". I never felt so disrespected in my life. I held my nerve and took my brother and took my business els-ware. My brother is 12 years old and no one has ever had the nerve to discriminate against him till now. I give it one star because there's no way I can put in one half of a star. For $10 for adults and eight dollars for children it is one of the bigger ripoffs in the area. All the other bad reviews are spot on so I won't waste my time ranting how bad this place is. My five and seven-year-old nieces thought it was bad also, so how bad is that? I gave this place for the following reasons 1. Whoever designed the golf course obviously has never been to one basically all the holes were uphill so it was impossible to even get the ball close to the hole. 2. After golf we go to get tickets for go kart and they asked how old my sister was (she's 16) they ask if she has a license and when she says no they say "Sorry you can't ride with her" pointing to my 6 year old cousins. Because and I quite "She's a kid" like seriously you don't have to have a license to drive a go kart my cousin starts balling and we leave. read more
