The check-in was easy and the Staff is available to meet and offer guidance one you arrive. They don't allow golf carts in the parking lot so you want to get there early to allow adequate time for check-in. The course was in very good condition. Tee boxes were well marked and in good repair. The fairways are not exceedingly wide so you will be in trouble if you are not accurate off the tee. My biggest complaint was all the granite rocks, just a real pain and on several holes can really impact your shot selection. There is some up and down and few elevated tee boxes but not a lot. My favorite hole was #17, a 135 yard Par 3. There is a big granite rock that partially blocks a clear path/view to an elevated green. You don't want to be left or you are on Mt Rushmore and not in a good way.

The staff is really friendly and seem to know the names of most of the golfers the day we played. As a semi private course we were able to play during the week. A Tuesday in August was very busy but didn't feel crowded. The fairways were beautiful and the greens are some of the best and most consistent that we have ever played. An affordable well maintained place. After 18 we had sandwiches and a beverage on the screened in deck at the charming clubhouse. The food and the service were way above average. This is the course Where I learned to play this great game when I was a boy. I hadn't played here since the 1970s. It felt good. Like coming home.

Fairways were cut pretty tight but were patchy and burned out. Its a sub standard layout on which high handicappers will lose a dozen balls per round.

I had to post this though because this past weekend after a round I was starving and needed a small bite before the drive back so I ordered the steak and cheese egg rolls app and words can't explain how good they were. The bartender, who is also one of the owners, told me they're handmade in house. I'm definitely going to make sure I try as much on their menu this season and definitely taking an order of the rolls to go next time!
