I went to rob to relieve some lower back pain. I bought it on Groupon. I guess i was expecting a regular massage. He does something different, where he moves your body into stretches. It was ok, It definitely was not intended to be relaxing. However, he did something to my lower back, the next morning, I could not move, I was in such pain. The pain lasted for over a week and ended up with me seeing my doctor and getting x-rays. He seems like a nice guy, trying to build his business. Just be aware, it's not the kind of massage where you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. At least not the one I got. I won't be going back. read more

I went to Rob after reading some reviews on Groupon and am so glad that I did! I was having back pain but really didn't expect to see any relief from a massage and instead was just hoping to enjoy a massage while I was in the area. After two weeks of being laid down from bronchitis and allergies, I needed to find some kind of relief for my splitting headache. Rob was featured on Groupon and after reading the other yelp reviews, I thought maybe he could help. Just as the other yelper mentioned, he called me back really quickly and was able to squeeze me in. As an active person, I have had many sports therapy and deep tissue massages and am very critical of my masseuse. I like to go deep, but I also like to feel relaxed. Rob's style is mix of natural principles (I love getting stretched!), kinesiology, and chiropractic principles, coupled with healing hands and a gentle spirit. I was euphoric after my massage. As a matter of fact, I purchased a gift certificate for my mom who has major back problems from scoliosis - I would not trust to her in anyone else's hands! A few highlights from my experience: I was still congested from allergies, so Rob laid me on my side instead of my stomach. This made me much more comfortable because laying on my stomach would have added more pressure to my already pounding head. I did not know this was even possible, so I thought it was brilliant. Another surprise was his ability to massage my knee, front thigh, and hips. This is near short of a miracle, as I am terribly ticklish in those areas. No one has successfully entered those areas. It felt so good to feel my entire body so relaxed. I knew that my headache would probably come back the next day, but for that moment and the rest of the night, I felt amazing. The massage room is also really nice and relaxing. The door is practically sound proof and there are no overwhelming scents. Even the lotion he uses is fantastic. I am not sure how to write this. Rob is an AMAZING massage therapist. He was the only one who was able to help my back pain. That being said Rob did ask me if i was open to a relationship with him. I declined as thats not what I get massages for and in no way myself being a 24 year old woman would i be interested in a married late 40s man. Since this incident I stopped going to see him and tbh am very nervous to get massage by a man now. The only reason im writing this is to inform women to be very careful or basically don't come to him. It was very inappropriate and uncomfortable to continue to come here. read more

I made this yelp account so that I could give Rob this review. His work is phenomenal and deserved to get some publicity. I could not believe the luck I ran into when I found Rob. I called and left a message to book an appointment. He called back within 15 minutes and booked my massage within the next hour and a half. The complex his office is in has beautiful waterfalls. It's peaceful just being within the premises. Rob creates his office space to be of the utmost relaxing and comfortable environment there is. I could not believe how beautiful and serene the office was. His table is heated for comfort and he uses great lotion that made my skin so smooth. His aim is to heal you of all your pains. Prior to the massage, he asked if there was pain in any particular spot so he could focus on it. I was in well trained and experienced hands. I highly recommend seeing Rob for your pain relief. I walked out of his office feeling pain free. I already booked my follow up appointment within the next two weeks so I can keep it that way! read more

Rob was amazing!! I really can't accurately describe my experience with him but I can promise you that you wont regret trying out his services. He normally doesn't even work on Sundays but he came in for one of his other patients and decided he could fit me in! I think that by working around one of his clients that shows dedication to his practice. Besides the incredible attention and care he demonstrated with his massage techniques, Rob just really seems like a wonderful person. This guy is truly doing his work because he wants to help and share his knowledge of the body, not for profit. He listened so well to all of my concerns. One of the main things I asked him to focus on were the hip problems I've been having lately. This is a very private area of the body and he asked me if I was comfortable with him touching around my pelvis. I said yes, but the fact that he kept checking in with me and was concerned about making me feel comfortable made a huge difference. I know it's their job and sometimes they have to touch all parts of your body but before this, no one has made me feel SO comfortable that I would say I completely 100% trust my body with him. That's extremely important to have with a massage therapist in order to receive the benefits. He's just so sweet. I don't know what compelled me to open up to him so much about my life on a really personal level but I guess it's just the vibe you get from being around him. He really does a fabulous job at making you feel so welcomed, settled and comfortable. Just from meeting him today and having conversation with him, I can that he is such a genuine person. He also stayed working way past our session was over to finish on problem areas and expected no extra money for that. I learned so much about my hips and muscles just from that 2 hours session. Muscles I was unaware of or unaware were the source of pain, he calmed. I've dealt with pain for a good portion of my life and most massages aren't enough, or don't really do anything afterwards. He definitely challenged my body, and at times of course it was very painful but then after coming back to that certain spot, he would do whatever motion again and it was clear how my body had been cleared of pain and was moving differently. That itself was extremely impressive. Most places make promises and their delivery is mediocre but he really shows you and helps you to understand what's going on. He also has this awesome machine that stimulates your nerves so that deep tissue isn't painful. I feel much better. Overall the experience was just incredible. Rob has so much passion for what he does. I will definitely be going back even though I live in Santa Cruz. He is without a doubt worth it. read more

Robert is very professional and very knowledgeable about the body. I had a very painful and stiff neck and shoulder for about a month. Within the hour Robert was able to stretch and loosen my tight muscles and now I can fully move my neck and shoulder with no pain. I was amazed. As a nurse, I need to be able to move safely as to protect my patients and myself too. I try to go at least once a month as a treat to myself but also to maintain good range of motion.
