I don't usually write reviews, but I felt truly compelled to share my experience after seeing Dan for massage and bodywork. I came to him dealing with chronic and constant back pain, mostly from recent weight lifting and what I later learned was some misalignment in my hips. I had tried sports massages, heating/icing, foam rolling, stretching and nothing seemed to help my lower back pain. I was honestly just hoping for a little relief--but what I got was so much more. Dan is not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable in his work, but he also brings such a grounded, genuine presence that made me feel immediately at ease. He took the time to really listen and understand what was going on with my body, and his approach was both intuitive and precise. After just one session, I've already noticed a real difference in how I move and feel--something I didn't think was possible after struggling with this pain for so long. Dan was also extremely flexible around my schedule and worked to get me in last minute, which showed not only his passion for what he does, but his commitment to helping others. And I have to mention Stella, his sweet dog, who was the cherry on top of an already healing and comforting experience. She brings such a warm, calming energy to the space. If you're dealing with pain or just want truly therapeutic bodywork from someone who really knows what they're doing and cares deeply about it, I can't recommend Dan enough! read more

Dan is in Bend Oregon and I have been a client of Dan for 9 months. For the past 10 years I have been experiencing chronic back, neck, elbow, & hip pain. I went to see Dan after a point when I was experiencing constant pain which prevented me from sleeping at night. Dan started me on a 6 week plan of weekly two hours sessions. After 6 weeks I no longer had the pain that previously prevented me from my sporting activities and sleeping. I now see Dan every two weeks as a regular. A side benefit is I am no longer straining or pulling muscles during strenuous activity. Thanks Dan, you are the best. Bill R. read more

Daniel is definitely the best massage therapist I've found, he's an incredibly intelligent and compassionate guy. After getting bad whiplash from a car accident, I saw a dozen massage therapists, chiropractors and other doctors and he has been the most helpful for providing a broad feeling of health. He also really shares what he learns about your pain and what you can do to help on a daily basis, and his work and the suggestions he's made have literally made the difference of being able to go rock climbing again, long hikes, you name it. Very easy to get along with and great at what he does, definitely worth a try! read more

I'm a personal trainer and yoga teacher and am constantly on the go - I've been dealing with lots of chronic and recurring back/shoulder tension and pain for so long and after just one session with Dan I feel like I can move better and breathe better than I have been able to in months. Dan's techniques are purposeful and so so helpful - he really listens to his clients' needs and makes the most of the session. I'd recommend Dan to anyone! read more

Was referred to Dan after I'd thrown out my back lifting something heavy at an awkward angle. I've never had such a great massage! Dan is extremely knowledgeable and very interested in helping your entire body. I've never had a massage from a man, but Dan was very laid back and it wasn't awkward at all for me. Dan knows his stuff and I cannot recommend him enough, he will cure your pain too! read more

I am new to climbing and had gnarled up my forearm pretty bad due to poor technique. Before he even worked his magic, Dan took the time to share some of his climbing knowledge to help me avoid future injury and a handful of yoga poses to help me warm up and stretch the impacted areas. Dan's space was super welcoming, warm and comfortable. Dan was attentive to every aspect of my session. I hadn't been feeling well so he even took the time to spread some anti-viral essential oils around my head rest before our massage started. It really open up my breathing and allowed me to enjoy our session much more. The massage. I had never heard of or experienced tapotement but it did an incredible job of releasing the tension in my problem areas. It was definitely different at first because I was used to traditional massage which is slow pressing movements. His lightning quick hands beat out a rhythm on your muscles that seems to strike some frequency that melts away the tension. At times it felt like there were two sets of hands working he was moving so fast. Needless to say, it was a great experience and I look forward to future treatments from Dan. read more

Apprenticed under a 10yr massage therapist while attending school in 2013-2014. The type of massage and practitioner I have become is thanks to Eric Mitchell of Mitchell Massage Therapy. The common goal for us is to provide a long lasting Therapeutical Treatment for each individual. The modality of Massage I learned helps aid with pain, increase range of motion, reduce lactic acid and promotes overall health.

I am a recent cancer survivor trying to deal with major changes to my body after undergoing chemo, radiation and surgery that impacted my pelvis, hips, periformis. On top of this I already had lower back issues and was developing shoulder problems as well. I could not walk 10 minutes on a treadmill without pain. Over the course of the past few months I went from not being able to walk more than 10 minutes at a slow pace on the treadmill without pain to walking 3 miles in a little over an hour without pain. Shawn has helped with my neck issues and my lower back issues by looking at my body as a whole. With some massage, stretching and prescribing exercises he has helped me rebuild strength and balance.

Words cannot describe how AMAZING Daniel is! But I will try... Today was my first "massage" with Daniel.. I put massage in quotes because Daniel's level of expertise, care and overall true passion for helping and healing people is out of this world! My "massage" was so much more than I could even imagine... I have had many massages where I think they are bettering me maybe but they never have and I have often wondered if the person massaging me even knows what they are doing... but not Daniel! I knew he knew what he was doing and I could feel that he knew what he was doing. I have suffered from neck, shoulder and abdominal pain for years and went through several massages and thought how I felt was just the way it was and I would only have moments of relief during the massages.... Daniel gave me a great massage, and he was able to provide me with a lot of information about my body. I have done a great deal of personal research and physical therapy for past surgeries, both of which have provided me a solid informational base about how to proceed with optimizing my body. But in one massage Daniel was able to introduce me to a lot of concepts that I have not yet come across. Dan is a natural healer, he is in tune with body mechanics and is able to soothe the whole body through percussion movements and deep tissue massage. His technique allows the body to reset and feel revitalize making this part of my self-care regime. I love the option of integrating essential oils into my massages providing an aromatherapy experience which is helpful in increasing circulation and reducing pain. Dan is not only knowledgeable about the body, but also interested in making sure that each of his clients experiences a massage that is specific to their body's needs. I am a runner who doesn't stretch nearly as much as I should, and Dan found points of tension in my legs that I didn't even realize were tight and causing me stiffness. I walked out feeling amazing!
