A brief conversation turned into him loudly talking over me and not allowing me to speak. I told him when the siding had been done and when the windows were done, he immediately started telling me the reason it was leaking was due to the contractor who did the siding- they were the cause of that even though the siding was done six years ago and it's only leaked twice starting about four weeks ago. Then he said it was because of the immigrants- they were doing all of the wrong work. I told him that this particular job was not done by immigrants. our regular Handyman and his son did all of it. He also was telling me I wasn't qualified to tell whether someone was properly licensed in NY or not because I just had someone else give an estimate who showed me their license who had wanted to take the window out and then put it back in with new protection etc. At some point I said are you going to tell me what you think about the window and he said I already did it's $800-$1200 without really explaining what they were going to do. I don't recall him saying that in this crazy conversation before perhaps he did and I couldn't remember because it was mostly him berating me. Anyway, I said that's too expensive and goodbye. I do not recommend this company based on this. It's too bad because they do seem to have a lot of good reviews and I was considering to ask them about the other leak with the roof as well that hasn't happened again for a year. After three strike outs with three different people now I am ready to just go to Home Depot and ask them to tell me how to fix this myself.

Vinny came to our house and was very detailed in explaining what he thought the problem was and how he would fix it. He listened to my questions (I tend to have a lot) and didn't try to upsell us. He said he could do all of that but we would be fine with an exterior membrane. I met with two other waterproofers who pretty much said the same and Vinny was the middle quote -yet we still chose him because he was honest and down to earth. Also I liked that his sons do the work so I trust they will take care to do it right. They scheduled us pretty quickly and got to work right away at 7 am. Three of them hand dug a 25 ft x 9 ft trench over two days (originally was supposed to be one but they needed a second because of our collapsing soil). They sealed the foundation and took care to replace my window wells, put my Sprinkler lines back, and stack the pavers they had to remove.
