As you walk up the the establishment the menu greets you with specials and the main menu so you can check it out before ordering. Speaking of ordering it was super fast and friendly you order at window 1, wait for your name to be called and swing over to window 2. Condiment station just around the corner with a board displaying local events. We chose seating under the gazebo which had a nice view of the water and an amazing breeze. My friends and I had lunch at Promenade Grill yesterday after a docent at the lighthouse recommended it. It's at the end of the Havre de Grace Promenade and faces the water. It has outdoor seating under a cover, so it's a great place to enjoy some fresh seafood and other treats. We shared a softshell crab sandwich and a fried cod platter. The plates both came with hushpuppies and a side (we choose onion rings and tomato cucumber salad). Everything was fresh and well-fried/executed. On a pretty day, I understand why so many people would want to enjoy a meal at Promenade Grill! So, yes, there was a line to order (10-15 minutes), but the food doesn't take long once you've ordered and the service was friendly! One of my absolute favorite places to eat! Food is consistently good! Staff are busy but helpful. This grille is located by the "boardwalk" in Havre De Grace with all outdoor seating, most of it is covered but some tables are full sun (with the option of an umbrella). You stand outside and order at the window, when the food is ready you pick it up at another window. You can eat it there or take it to go. They even offer call ahead ordering which has saved time since the line can get so long in the summertime!!! Today is November, 12th., 2025 at 12:30pm my wife and I were sitting at a counter top style seat, we were the ONLY two people around. Nobody was there. We were minding our own business having a bite to eat watching the nice view of the water. Suddenly this rude, overweight white male approached us and said "do you any food for me?", then proceeded to stand over our shoulders staring at us while we ate in an attempt to intimidate. He works for the this third rate trash so called restaurant. It's more like a glorified hot-dog stand. The food is horrible, poor quality equivalent to carnival food and jail food. Frozen cheap, thin paddies that they slap on a dirty flat grill and call that a burger. Anyway, he said to read the signs and to leave. The sign said don't feed the birds to which we never even thought of that, and wouldn't. We brought our own Caribbean food, chicken and fish and were eating that. Nobody was around. I looked over my shoulder and he was just standing there dumbfounded. I told him is there a problem? He was very awkward and rude, nosey. My wife said if you would like for us to leave we will. He kept standing there in a strange effort for us to leave. I asked him do you have a problem? As my wife and i were quiet, just having a bite to eat. He walked off as his childish staff laughed. We decided to leave and simply eat our small meal packaged neatly at a bench 20 feet away. The guy was very unprofessional and unwise. We were paying customers before during the summer and the food was just overpriced garbage. Nobody was around on a cold windy day out of Season. But he is a "Ken", so of course he would have to try and cause a scene. Don't waste your money on this dump. It's really a glorified hotdog stand. This is a perfect location to sit outside and look at boats in the sunset. I had a grilled tuna sandwich and I was quite worried that he tuna would be dry, but it wasn't. What a find! Aside from the charm of ordering take-out at a marina, the food was so fresh and cooked to perfection. I got the pan seared white fish. This may have been their signature dish. I never expected something so flavorful, seared on the outside and soft and flakey inside. I also never thought I would finish the two fish fillets that it comes with but I devoured them. The platters are served with mouth watering hush puppies that are also so fresh and cooked to perfection hard on the outside and delicious soft and cakey on the inside. I couldn't resist them. The staff were delightful and attentive. The picnic table area was covered open air which was cute. We will definitely make this a desired stop when traveling thru bwi or heading south. read more

Just ate there today (July 9, 2025) and they got my order wrong twice. I asked (and said nicely 4 times) for a double hamburger plain, no cheese, nothing on it. She confirmed it. She gave it to me with cheese. I also asked for french fries and no pickle on the plate. She also assured me no pickle on the plate. There was a pickle on the plate. Then when they finally got it wrong, the hamburger was AWFUL! Do not patronize this business. I was going to get ice cream, but they'd mess that up too! Service. The business is constantly short staffed. Twice we've ordered smoothies and shakes and both times our tickets were misplaced. On one occasion, after seeing other customer's get their smoothies and shakes (who also ordered after us) we brought it to their attention and their response was "we're short staffed". One of the female employees said "I don't have a ticket for you" then found it shortly after. This all after a half hour had passed. We then got our watered down smoothies. We understand being busy, but after experiencing this a second time, it is clear the owner/management of this establishment should revisit peak hours and staff accordingly. After a long walk around havre de grace with our pups I thought this was a great ice cream place to stop at. Well to my surprise it's not just a ice cream place, they carry varies food choices!! They have things from fish to cheese steaks, so there is something for everyone! Their ice cream options are a long list. They change their flavors all the time and have a board that they write all the flavors on and it's great! Once you get your food, you can sit at the tables they have or you can go sit right by the water. The views of the water is beautiful and relaxing. They have changed the rules about the boardwalk regarding riding you bike, skateboarding or even walking your dog is prohibited. The dog walking van sadden me because my dogs loved walking with me along it but there are plenty of other places to walk. You can also et your food and head right over to the park and sit down and eat...your kids could even play at the playground. This is really the only food option on the little boardwalk for a quick bite. It's not a sit down girlle, think of a hot dog stand. I stopped for some delicious Hershey's ice cream. They have a limited food menu but it's good for the situation. You go up to the window to order and then they yell your name out when it's ready so don't wander too far. They have a covered patio with some tables and chairs. It gets very busy here in the summer. Good to appease those hungry kids! I did really enjoy my ice cream. read more

The Promenade Grille has always been the SPOT for as long as I can remember. Some of the best times of my childhood were walking from my house down to the boardwalk and to the Promenade Grille. The location is excellent, you can't beat that view right? They have definitely made some upgrades the past few years and even though it's only outdoor seating it is extremely nice! The food is extremely good and their milkshakes are killer. The only complaint I have ever had is that they do not offer free refills but most smaller businesses don't! If you are ever visiting downtown Havre de Grace this is a great place to visit, especially with dogs or small children. The playground is right here and it is extremely nice! read more

We stopped for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Since we're in Maryland, I did expect the crab to be at least what was advertised. I switched from the "crab cake sandwich" to the Maryland jumbo lump crab cake dinner. No jumbo lumps, just what tasted like canned crab, the pasta salad was drenched in Italian dressing and it did have 1/2 canned black olive in it for the salad part. My daughter had the fried flounder and it tasted fishy - old? To cut out the fishy taste, she doused it in vinegar and Old Bay seasoning just to tolerate it. Also, she was able to pick up the fish with it standing straight out- overfried? The lemonade was a mix and the wild cherry Pepsi was flat. I just love this little shack on the water and try to stop by as often as possible when making the trek along route 95 between DC and the northeast. Located next to the city marina, Promenade Grille offers amazing views of the Susquehanna River/Chesapeake Bay. It gets its name from the waterfront promenade across the parking lot's driveway. Promenade has walk-up service and seating outside at umbrella tables, benches or under the new covered deck. Food is fairly simple--um...grill food...with a few surprises such as hush puppies with honey butter, crab cakes and daily seafood specials. They also have salads, sandwiches, milkshakes and Hershey's ice cream. This place is not fancy in terms of food or decor. But the food is good, the service is friendly and the atmosphere (if you are a water lover) cannot be beat. The prices are really cheap too. FAR less expensive than any of the other waterfront restaurants in town. I ordered a pork BBQ sandwich that came with cole slaw for $6. The seafood entrees might be more like $10. After eating, you can sit on the benches along the Bay or walk the promenade along the River. Ample parking is free in the marina lot. A great little place and the perfect way to break up the 95 drive. read more

I was shouted at, told they are too busy, and hung up on. I then called back and asked for the manager who told me "We are busy and have been here all day so that's why my employee got an attitude and hung up on you. It's Father's Day and we have been busy all day. You have to specify someone has a disability to get a burger cut in half." I will never support The Promenade Grille again... This isn't about a burger. It's about disrespect. NO one with a disability should feel the need to explain themselves. Also, NO one with a disability needs to explain themselves. Finally got a chance to try the Promenade Grille, I got the crabcake platter, my kids all got basic Turkey and cheese sandwiches. They all loved their sandwiches, the crabcake was good a bit dry unfortunately but the hushpuppys and fries were all good! We'll be back to try something different next round! read more

When we first saw this place we thought it was just an ice cream stand and that the grille was on the other side. Actually this is an outdoor only grille which is open, weather permitting. We had the salad with grilled chicken and Italian dressing. The Italian dressing should be stirred, we thought it was really bland until we realized that all of the spices were at the bottom. The prices are reasonable. The food quality is acceptable, and seemed to be made fresh. Minus one star for the amount of time the line took. Tip: your sodas (if you ordered any) will come out before your food, so watch/ listen out for tour orders being called. read more

Had not been to Havre De Grace in a few years , took my 1 year old son and wife up for a nice day out. We had beauiful walk on the promenade boardwalk and after decided to eat lunch here. I had the Cod and fries , my wife crab cake sandwhich and fresh fruit. We got to the window and the young lady was less than pleasant , seemed irritated and just wanted the order fast. So first impressions were not off to a good start. The food came out and we sat down in the pavillion. My Cod filet was huge. Nothing to write home about but then again its fried fish. The fries i read were good, but came out warm not hot. Crab cake sandwhich is average again nothing special. The so called fresh fruit was awful , see my picture. They should be ashamed to serve that. I went for a refill on my sweet tea , before i opened my mouth another young lady says ill be right with u and yells out a customers name. I wait 10 seconds and she them screams the customers name. Another 10 seconds of me sitting there looking stupid and the cistomer retrieves their food. Im given the tea and a very unenthusiastic have a nice day is given and we are out of there. Look if you want a quick bite and a nice view with avwrage food and not so friendly staff go here. It will do in a pinch. I hear they have decent desert treats but i didnt want to be yelled at again. My wife is in complete agreement. Lunch was 30 for the two of us, better off spending that at Backfin Blues spending a little extra but having a meal you feel good about paying for and it comes with a smile. read more
