Tucked away along Route 22 behind Chick-fil-a sits this Italian restaurant. It has been on the area for years. It had obviously been renovated as it so very up to date and has a more modern vibe. There's a bar with high tops and a dining room that is rather large. Parking could be an issue as the lot so small and the spaces are close. You can park in the hotel lot behind them. We were greeted by some hostesses that were super friendly and we were immediately seated. The bar had a 15 minute wait. The dining room is large and has comfortable seating. Nice lighting as well. Ordered two drinks - strawberry lemon drop martini and a blood orange martini. Both were meh. They were good, but wouldn't order again. They did have a large selection of various flavors of crushes and sangrias. Ordered the calamari for an app. Wouldn't recommend this. The marinara with it was homemade, but the calamari itself was just typical frozen breaded calamari. Breadsticks and salad were brought. Both tasty - especially the breadsticks! Ordered the shrimp fra diavolo and was asked if wanted it mild, medium, spicy. Went with spicy. Absolutely delicious. Would recommend this! Ordered the stuffed flounder with a side of broccolini. Flounder was great and there were LUMP crab pieces inside with a great imperial sauce on top. Asked for butter for the broccolini but was given packs of butter that were hard so didn't melt. Lots of sides to pick from when ordering. Desserts looked amazing (they are on display at hostess station). Just couldn't fit anything as the meals are great portions. The staff was nice and helpful, and them having a jukebox made my day so much better. I went around 3pm on Saturday and it wasn't too bad but the later it got, the more people showed up. I tried chicken française for the first time and was surprised that it came out looking like chicken with fried egg on top, lol. Amazing food! The crab pretzel is a show stopper! I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a tiramisu for carry out. I was incredibly disappointed. The pizza was cold, undercooked, rubbery, and tasted like it had previously been frozen. The tiramisu was a joke. It was $7, the size of cake pop, and it was packaged in a way that appears it had been thrown. I do not recommend dining in or out at this location. read more

Very good dinner! I've been to Olive Tree Aberdeen a few times since my last post and I've noticed a change in attention to details. Service was excellent and to food was very good. Our dining experience last night was the blue-hair 0430 style so there was no contention to deal with but again, great service. Dinner: I had the red pepper sauce with penne & shrimp and my wife had a pasta dish with Diablo sauce. Both meals were very good. No deserts and we got out with tip @ $70. I've been back to Olive Tree a few times, and overall, I think I stand by the three star rating. The food is good, but not great. The service is friendly. The ambiance is still that of a knock-off Olive Garden. I'm a fan of their ravioli, but find the portion a bit small - now that I've had bariatric surgery, it's perfect, but if you have a big appetite, I'd pick something else. They have a decent happy hour, but you have to ask for the happy hour menu, it won't be offered to you. I think the biggest knock I have against this place is that I don't like going out for Italian, which certainly isn't their fault. read more

we sat in the bar allowing for a nice view of the Sunday games. we were promptly greeted for drink orders. the menu is pretty comprehensive offering many types of choices. e were served a salad and breadsticks that were great! the salad was fresh and blended nicely with the dressing. he ordered the lasagna and i ordered a shrimp and broccoli alfredo. the dishes appeared and looked a unauthentic. one bite confirmed the appearance. the lasagna was obviously frozen and defrosted for serving. the alfredo tasted more like a heavy cheese sauce and was far to heavy for the dish. perhaps we made poor decisions with our orders. it's a nice place but the entrees were more than a bit disappointing. read more

We have been dining at The Olive Tree in Aberdeen for over 25 years. We haven't had any complaints until the last 2 years. We find that prices have increased, and the quality of some of their foods has diminished. Tonight we did carryout. I ordered my usual chicken Marsala. when I got home I found that the 2 thin chicken pieces were no larger than 3 fingers wide strips. One was about 4"long and the other half 2" long. The absence of Marsala sauce was very noticeable. We will return for dine in sometime in the future. I will voice my recent disappointment and hold them to a higher standard. Great food, but disappointed with extra charges for takeout The food here is delicious, and I've enjoyed dining in at the restaurant. However, I was disappointed to find that when ordering for delivery or takeout, they do not include parmesan cheese with the pasta unless you specifically ask--and then they charge an extra fee. Why is parmesan included for free when dining in, but not for takeout or delivery? It feels unfair to pay more for something that's standard in-house. read more

Olive Tree is a neighborhood great. There is no need to go to another casual Italian place. Seafood and chicken all are very fresh. Their tomato marinara is flavorful. Service is always excellent. Today I had a special - pork shank. And boy I was happy I did. A well cooked and well-sized pork shank with a healthy portion of mashed potatoes and green beans. I ate half and was stuffed. Looking forward to eating the rest tomorrow. Had a blue Hawaiian to drink which was delicious. Shared a seared Tuna appetizer (not pictured) which was excellent and a good portion. Only complaint here was the sear could've been better. But still great. My friends like their chicken piccata and seafood pasta. Everything fresh and flavorful. Sauces do come a little on the salty side, but nothing crazy. Complimentary salad and breadsticks always good and better than OG. We were too stuffed for dessert. However, the crab cake was extremely disappointing, quite the opposite of the one I had just a few months ago. The past crab cake was excellent, consisting of jumbo lump crab, period. The one I was served today had, by my count and that of my companion, approximately five lumps of crab. Worse, you could see layers of mayonnaise throughout, suspending the crab pieces. A kind of crab slop, perfectly broiled. The other dishes were fine. The check had to be redone, as wrong items were listed. This was surprising, but easily corrected, and we were soon on our way. Maybe the next time the crab cake would be great, but really I can't imagine trying. I couldn't stand having this happen a second time. read more

My family of six ate here for lunch. The ambiance is nice and the service was excellent. We had the seafood pasta, mushroom linguine, cheesesteak, chicken tenders with fries, penne with meat sauce, cream of crab soup, salad and breadsticks. The portions are huge and ended up being lunch and dinner for all of us. They do not skimp on crab, scallops or shrimp in the pasta. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The croutons in the salad were too tough to eat but that didn't take away from the freshness and quality of the salad. Our server was on point. Let's start out with the ambience and decor, both perfection. I have been coming to this location what feels like all my life being a native of Harco. I haven't been in probably a good 10yrs. The place is beautiful. We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted. We started with the calamari, which was overcooked and am pretty sure they need to change the fryer oil. The house salad was very fresh and the dressing good. I got the ravioli, the description makes it sound like a carbonara but, it's more like an Alfredo. Either way, so good!!! BF got the lasagna, I am not a fan of anything in a red sauce, he said it was good. Why the 3 stars? Service was great, ambiance good, food was just ok. The calamari really put me off of what should have been a good dining experience. Will I try it again? Yes! Maybe it was just an off night for them. Stopped in The Olive Tree sort of accidentally, but happy we did. This Italian restaurant is a bit like Olive Garden but stepped up several notches. Meals come with salad and breadsticks which are both good. The servings on our pasta dishes were HUGE. I ate until I couldn't eat anymore and it looked like I hadn't touched it. Our server was friendly and quick. A little too much attention on ambiance meant it was dark to the point of being unable to see very well inside. We would come back again if in the area. read more

Ambience: aesthetically is beautifully rustic. Lighting is perfect. Service: our server Kiersten was phenomenal and attentive, so much so that we never once asked for a refill, extra napkins, or anything for that matter. She was quick and always responded pleasantly when asked for something. Food: Now you can absolutely tell that the food isn't bagged food, that someone took their time to actually cook. Ordered fried chicken and vegetable dumplings on lunch appetizer menu. I expected fried chicken and a side of veggie dumplings, they should change the name to "chicken and vegetable potsticker". Implied that it's fried. Lunch special menu offered Shot Gunner ale but not available since it was changed out. read more
