Yes, almost everyone misses the mark on Bagels in AZ but after revisiting the best of the best, I'd put Bagel Man sesame right up there with the leaders out of state. From a "just the bagel" perspective, they are every bit as good as the best East Coast establishments - at least early in the morning. Our dry air might have more of an impact later in the morning. There, I said it. My East Coast relatives may be rolling in their graves but I feel much better now.

I stopped by and got an everything bagel and a cheddar green chili bagel, along with some jalapeño cream cheese. Both bagels were fresh, warm, and the perfect amount of chewy and soft. Both were good but the everything bagel is the winner. Their everything bagel blend is so flavorful!! Now I get why I saw it packaged for sale as a seasoning mix. I like the jalapeño cream cheese but I think their scallion cream cheese is even better. You can get bagels as is, with cream cheese or butter etc and then they have breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I'll definitely need to try one of the lunch sandwiches soon! They're in the plaza off Southern, just west of Sprouts, with plenty of parking. Open until 1 or until sold out.

Even if you want your food warmed, it should take just a few minutes. The food is fine, but Paris is known for very buttery pastries. Sadly, got no such flavor. I just want them in a bag. The order process goes like this: go to counter, i would like these 4 kinds. each of my 4 bagels needs to be entered as a custom order - naked bagel not toasted. Then instead of that person placing 4 bagels in a bag and handing it to me, it goes to the back and waits in a long queue of other orders. Then 10 min later someone comes out of the back, and takes my 4 bagels from the front. They they walk back to put them in a bag. Then they place the bag in the window and ring the bell, so the person taking orders can hand them to me once they stop taking other orders. Why so complicated??
